Name all the athletes you have saw play LIVE in high school, college and the pros

Recommended Posts

Since we are in the doldrums of the off season I thought I might be fun to try a topic that I have never seen before in all my years on the GID.

Who are all the athletes you have seen play LIVE at each level: high school, college and the pros.

Mine are:

Jeff Samardija - Valparaiso High School, Notre Dame and for both the Oakland A's and Chicago White Sox

Skylar Diggins - South Bend Washington High School, Notre Dame and the Tulsa Shock

Stevie and Rod Brown were absolute monsters for those East teams of the late late 00s. Some great battles in Regional/SS with Reitz and Cathedral. My cousin played with them on those teams, so I got to see them play quite a few times.

Stevie nor Roderick ever played against Reitz or Cathedral.. Roderick graduated in 05 and Stevie in 06... the 05 season was ended by Roncalli in a 1 point game... the 06 season was ended by Seymour in the sectional upset with Stevie breaking his leg in PE like Week 4-5 of his senior season.

Eric Gordon - NC, IU, and Rockets

Gotta get to a Pacers vs Mavs/Milwaukee game and I'll add Ferrell/JBJ to the list

Go to a Colts vs Dallas game and I can add Jaylon Smith, but with and * for playing him in HS as well!

If you add elementary and Jr. high School as well:

Zack Martin

Nick Martin

Ted Karras

They all played for St. Matthew's Elementary and Jr. High.  Nick and Ted played the same years.

Admittedly, Ted played for the cursed Irish in HS and later for the cursed Patriots.

Still, love the kid.

Watched a Muncie native, Jamill Smith, play at Muncie Southside and at Ball State. Hard to watch a CFL game in person but I did get to watch him win a Grey Cup on ESPN.

Ken Dilger...Heritage Hills, Illinois, & Colts.

Those were the days GS & HH weren't in the same conference so I didn't get to see him in football.  But we were able to beat him in baseball regionals while he played first base.

A few high school & pros..

The best basketball player I've ever seen in person:   Scott Skiles

Plymouth (several games the year he led the Pilgrims to the state championship), Michigan State (was at University of Dayton Arena for the NCAA tournament game where he dazzled with behind the back passes), and Orlando Magic and Phoenix Suns.
