This is the smallest 7th grade roster I can remember at Heritage Hills only 14 players and one left with injury tonight.

Still they played tough losing to Boonville 18-12.

Up next is the 8th grade.

I have been told that Tell City only has enough middle school kids for one combined team.

Also have been told that Wood Memorial will not have a middle school football team this year. Several PAC teams were going to play them.

Crazy finish at the Jungle in the 8th grade game .

Jasper was driving for what looked like the go ahead score but after a turnover deep in Patriot territory the Patriots mounted a drive and scored with 13 seconds left.

Conversion failed and score was 12-6, with 1.1 left the Jasper pass was intercepted and returned for td, clock at 0.0 so no conversion attempt and final wa was Heritage Hills 18 Jasper 6.

Boonville wins 8th grade 8-6.

Castle North beat Boonville 8th grade 22-0.  They also beat Memorial 48-20 and Reitz 32-0.  Looks like a nice class coming for Castle.

I believe the 8th grade Final was 38-0 HH and 7th grade was at least 24-0 Pike. 8th is 4-1, 7th 1-4.

The Heritage Hills freshman trailed 22-0 at halftime and scored 30 unanswered points in the 2nd half for the 30-22 win over Boonville. They improve to 1-1-1. Lost to Mater Dei  20-8 and tied Southridge 30-30 in overtime.

How did the TC game go for the 8th graders. I believe my mom told me that my brother had a good game and recorded 14 tackles in the game.

Patriots only played 1 game Thursday with both 7th and 8th dressed but counted as 8th grade. South Spencer kept it close in the first half tied 6-6 at halftime and final was 22-6.

8th improves to 5-1.

Same thing next Thursday with only one team against Tell City.

Patriot 8th grade lost at Tell City last season 10-6  as the Marksmen were one of two teams to beat them as 7th graders.

Tonight it was a combined game and was just as close, Tell City scored early and led 6-0 until late 2nd quarter and it was 8-6 HH at halftime. Neither  team scored again until HH punched one in with 43 seconds left but missed the conversion and it was 14-8. On ensuing drive Marksman complete a long pass to what looked like around the 5-yard line but after a couple of Patriot stops ran out of time.

Patriots close out the season next week at Gibson Southern.
