Still smiling... give me a day to enjoy last night,

You should get more than a day lol, 8 years and 30 before that, you might not be alive for the next one.

There was a time before Bart that I stopped going to the games. The thing that bothers me about last night is it could have easily been by 2 or 3 scores.

I'll take:

Central in a close one

NP big

St. Joe in a game that's closer than what it should be

Riley big (How many more seasons of football is Clay going to have to endure before something happens to the program)

Mishawaka's magical ride doesn't end quite yet (wouldn't be surprised to see them lose though)

Maconaquah easy over Glenn

Jimtown's schedule helps them pull out a tight one against knox

Marian picks their score against Fairfield

Bremen picks off Woodlan to start their tourney run

Teams that have a legit chance of getting out of sectionals in the NIC: New Prairie, Mishawaka, Bremen, Penn, Elkhart Central (holy poop that is a WEAK sectional), and Marian.

After Friday night I am even more confused about the NP - Penn game. On second thought I have to wonder if NP was a little intimidated by Penn going in to that game. Mishawaka played Penn that waY for years until coach Curtis arrived. I was/am very impressed with NP.

I agree with you on the intimidation factor, we use to be that way with Laporte but now we can compete with them hopefully the kids see that you guys beat them and realize it’s possible. We would still have to play a near perfect game but it can be done. Congrats on the win and hopefully we see you again in a couple weeks

I’ll be at the SJ|KV game. I will try and update. If you are there I72, would enjoy meeting and chatting.

Sad to see the Clay program take a dump...early to mid 2000s were by far the best SB sports program...bad coaching and the magnet program may kill the athletics all together...sad

My thoughts on this week:

Central should win at home.

New Prairie will win, may be closer than people think.

St Joe beats KV.

Riley all over Clay.

Mishawaka over Hobart.

Manconaquah over Glenn.

Jimtown will handle Knox.

Marian wins very easily.

Bremen takes care of business.

So I have 8 NIC teams alive after week 1.
