Week 7 Scores

Recommended Posts

Bloomington South 33 Columbus North 15 (2:23, 3rd)

South is starting to get sloppy on special teams and on pass defense after getting that big lead. They gave up a kickoff return to their 37 yard line on CN's first TD, and then after giving up a punt return also to their 37 yard line, they gave up a 37-yard TD pass to Cooper Horn on a trick play. The two-point conversion attempt was no good.

After receiving the kickoff after the safety, South drove methodically down the short field, and scored on a 17-yard QB keeper by Zach David which fooled everyone as he went left and untouched into the end zone.

I corrected that in an earlier post in that the extra point on that last TD by South looked good to me, but it was ruled no good which I obviously missed.

Bloomington South 39 Columbus North 15 (3:02, 4th)

South goes on a long drive scoring on a one yard run to kill any slim hope the Bull Dogs had of coming back in the game. South missed the PAT for the second straight TD something they usually don't do.

Gibson opened the 2nd half with a td drive,  converted the 2pt attempt.

Forced a 3 and out following that.

Devan roberts finds an extra gear and blasts by everyone on defense for a 54 yard td.  #4 on the night

Gibson Southern 35

Mt Vernon       0

3rd qtr

Running clock.

Bloomington South 46 Columbus North 15 (1:00, 4th)

South's DBs were laying back allowing the short passes as CN was methodically driving down the field until they went to the well once too often and South's Drew Crum-Hieftje picked them and returned it 98 yards for a score. PAT was good this time.
