RIDICULOUS Ticketmaster Fee$

Recommended Posts

It says digital tickets can be purchase "during business hours" but does not say what those are.   "Assume" ticket window will be open at least an hour before the game like the gates but also hate to "assume" anything with IHSAA & Ticketmaster...

Digital tickets may also be purchased in person at the Lucas Oil Stadium Box Office (without service fees) during business hours (credit card or cash purchases only).

By the time you drive to Lucas and pay to park somewhere, might as well pay the TM fees.

Don't the schools still provide tickets sales in the week of the game?  Been a while since I went to LOS for state championships, but I thought in the past I'd purchased them from the school ... and it was just face-value cost.

Those were probably paper tickets.

Yes. Back when they used paper tickets the participating schools could sell and would a whopping $1 for each ticket so

So you can’t buy paper tickets at the school any longer?

It sucks that you can't. I get it with Covid, but that was a souvenir as well.

I don’t mind my money going to the IHSAA, but I have problem with my money going to ticket company’s at 30% mark up.

if you meet me on the sidewalk outside the stadium, I am selling pieces of paper that say you can go in for only a 25% markup

Unfortunately I’m probably going to have to buy the tickets this year then.

My better half does EVERYTHING better than I do excepting anything on line.

I always fear she might trigger a nuclear event when she opens her laptop.

If you know what you're looking for you'll catch me there in between the 2a/4a game and 4a/6a game

most likely between the 3a/5a game as well

Pretty sure I still have my one from the 1A final in 2000. I was a 4th grader. Now fast forward and the kids playing again at state I coached some in 3rd & 4th grade and the juniors & below had as 5th & 6th graders. Getting old fast lol.

Wait until you are seeing the ones you coached in 5th grade in the stands with their kids watching the games.

I finally officially retired from coaching in2020, but still help herd cats with my youngest son's team.  At the Harrison-LCC scrimmage this season, I was looking through the LCC roster and realizing that many of the kids that I coached in 3rd/4th and 5th/6th were on that varsity roster.  The thing that really caught my attention though was that four of LCC's coaches played for me when they were 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grade.  One of them just had his fourth kid at the start of the season.  It goes way too fast.

Seriously though man, how awesome is it to see kids you coached succeeding in life! One of the joys of coaching in my opinion.

Do you remember what the tix price was? I just bought a tic for an REO concert next March at a casino and it was over $150 each! Wanted to calculate inflation rate from 1974 until today…😂

$5.50. I'm fairly certain Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band were the opening act. I know he opened for someone I saw that summer if it wasn't this one.

Edit: I looked it up. Seger opened for Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Aerosmith on 9/15/1974 instead of this one.

Paid $17 in 1981 to see REO and Heart along with Foghat and Blue Oyster Cult.
