PHJIrish
Don't know much about Frederick Douglas, other than they won a KY state championship last year and they're relatively new (2017). I'm too old to make this trip so I'll be a keyboard jockey this week.

Thinking the Irish will need to play extremely well, turnover-free football to win.

DumfriesYMCA
I know they are consistently top 5 in the state for rankings and I believe have won multiple championships already. South Warren was an underdog in 2021 when they beat FD for the KY 5A state championship.
whiteshoes
Saw them play Hoban in Canton and it looked like a varsity-JV game. They came home and beat Trinity and Tates Creek, two pretty good Kentucky teams but were shut out against Corbin last weekend, 6-0. Cathedral has been up and down all year, so it could be an interesting matchup of two teams trying to figure it out.

It was a typo on Calpreps he is an Interior Offensive Lineman. The WR is A. Chenault 6' 2" 165 and is a JR being recruited by Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan, Ole Miss, and West Virginia. PHJIrish
Thanks for the input. I've watched some video, but it's difficult to really get a grasp of just how good someone is when the video is all positive plays. I sure wish I was getting to this game, but it's just too difficult a trip for old fans.
PHJIrish
I'm hoping to live stream this game. Otherwise it's listening to the great Cathedral radio crew on I-Heart radio. GO IRISH!!!!

PHJIrish
Cathedral 14, Douglas 10 at the half. Cathedral got out to a 14-0 lead and then Douglas scored on a long pass on 4th and 11 on the Irish 31 yard line. Then the Irish just lost momentum or something. They are a strange team this season! It makes no sense to me how they jump out of the gate strong then lose the momentum.
gindie
I turned it on just in time to see Cathedral intercept a pass at their own 2, then have a 5-yard penalty, followed by a safety. Then Douglass scores on the next possession. 21-19 Cathedral at the end of 3.
PHJIrish
Cathedral 28, Douglas 19. I'm not sure I've seen a Cathedral team play that good and that bad in the same game. Maybe the Chatard game. It's the first back to back wins of the season for the Irish. Jalen Bonds had a big night, and an onside kick to start the 2nd half was the big play for Cathedral On to Cincinnati LaSalle next week. hhpatriot04
Great for Indiana teams to go and get wins wins against top regional teams. How were the matchups? Any interesting differences in rules or playstyle?

Other than that, we ALL use the same NFHS rules. Edited September 25 by Yuccaguy

I live in Ohio, originally from Indiana. The only game I've seen in OH in the past several years was Penn at Cincinnati St. Xavier and I can't remember if they had the 40-second clock. But, I do know (from that game) that their mercy rule is such that they go back to regular timing if the score difference goes back under the threshold. Also, I remember in a Ben Davis at Cincinnati Elder game from many years ago that they put the ball on the 20 for overtime.
