Former Warsaw Tiger Nic Moore playing for the Miami Heat Summer League

Recommended Posts

A little old, but former Mr. Basketball Runner-Up Nic Moore is still continuing his playing career as he has been playing for the Miami Heat Summer League squad in Orlando this past week.  He has come off the bench in all three games so far.  In his first game he logged 5:49 on the court and hit his only shot, a 3-pointer, while also getting a steal.  In his second game he played 16:05 but was 0-3 from the field with 2 rebounds and 2 assist, but had 3 turnovers.  In their game yesterday he played 2:20 and was 1-1 from the field for 2 points with 1 rebound and 1 turnover.

The Heat play in the Orlando Summer League championship game tomorrow against Detroit.  Hopefully Nic can get a few more minutes for that chance to impress the coaching staff of not only Miami, but every other NBA team, D-League squad, and overseas staff.  I'm sure it's a long shot for him to make an NBA roster, but the kid will still make a living next year playing basketball somewhere in the world.

So far here are Nic's stats:

He's played in 5 of the 6 games, starting 1.
Averaging just above 13 minutes on the court (skewed heavily by a game in which he played 30 minutes).
Shooting 7/18 from the field (39%), including 3/8 from 3pt land (38%). Only 2/4 from the FT line.
Averaging 3.8 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 1.0 apg and 0.6 spg.
19 total points scored in those 5 games.

Their game tonight against Denver in Las Vegas will be broadcast on ESPN2 at 8pm.
