This team can be frustrating to watch. They show they can play with and even dominate teams like Kansas and UNC at times, but then just looked awful against IPFW.  It does seem there is one guy each game that will struggle, and make bad play after bad play; Johnson had a sequence of plays late in the game that allowed UNC to get back in the game, and in Fort Wayne, it was Blackmon. Hopefully they figure out that they need to feed the ball to their teammates when they are off instead of forcing things.

Just reposting this as it seems it will be a common theme throughout the season. This team is WAY too talented to play like this (against IPFW, and now Butler.....and I will leave space for more teams as the season goes on).

Now adding Nebraska to the list. Playing like this IU will be lucky to finish in the top half of the conference. That was embarrassing

And the hits just keep coming. This team is reeling, and I am not sure that it will stop anytime soon. Could anyone imagine if McIntosh were running the point for IU, instead of Northwestern?

An embarrassing end to a horrible season for IU. I guess someone knew it would end this way and CHOOSE to not play at home??

IU Hubris everyone

#4 seriously, saw maybe 7 mins of the 2nd half when I saw they crept back in, then watch them get the ball swiped easily 2 possessions in a row and that dude just comes up lame instead of hustling to try to be there for the miss or provide some pressure to the rim.   That was the microcosm of their season right there as soon as OG went down.

Figured I would pick this forum up instead of starting a new. Hoosiers add the first member of the 2019 recruiting cycle by napping Aarman Franklin out of non other than Indianapolis Cathedral. Archie continues to live up to his promise of recruiting the state looking to add other Indy talent (Brooks Jr, Jackson-Davis, Newman). He is also keeping a reach nationally with targeting Isaiah Steward Jahmius Ramsey and Trendon Waterford.

However no matter how successful right now on the recruiting front unfortunately for Archie he is already in the eyes of many in an important year in Bloomington. I think he needs to finish in the top half of the conference and certainly needs to beat all at home mid-majors! With the arrival of Romeo IMO only increased expectations looking at the schedule and with what the Hoosiers have returning it looks like outside of @ Duke and @ Louisville and vs Butler possible @ Arkansas the non-conference schedule should be smooth sailing. At the end of the day a return to the NCAA Tourney in March I think will keep Archie in the good graces of IU Bball fans

Only time will tell a month out for Hoosier Hysteria in the meantime enjoy Football!!!!

I agree but Franklin is just adding depth at Guard for IU, (Green, Durham, and Phinese will all still be around) whereas Newman will have to try and fill Edwards shoes, I think it will also be good for Purdue that he stays closer to West Lay all season by staying at Valpo his senior year, even thought he circumstances that forced him to stay are disappointing. I also believe Izzo will snatch Keion Brooks Jr like he's proven he can do over the years, also its tough to compete for the national prospects consistently with so many wide reaching programs like Duke, UK, and UNC. Also as much as I would love to see Watford continue the pipeline I believe he will stay home and play for Bama especially after seeing that Sexton was able to succeed their.  I believe IU's focus for the next few months is and has been Jackson-Davis. I know its not a lock but if Archie does what he did with Romeo its hard to see him going else where but I could be wrong. With a projected class size of only 3-4 I would say Franklin, Jackson-Davis, plus just about anyone else would make Hoosier fans very pleased!

I think little Watford will go to Memphis.

I would love to see indiana get Matthew hurt or Isiah Stewart.

I think they'll wind up getting Trace.

I could see that as well the name Hardway alone seems to be attracting top tier talent already will be interesting to see if they can build a program .

I think Hurst has always been a bit of a stretch, and I think Stewart was a possibility but it just got a lot harder with UK throwing their hat in the ring late.

Hope so but you never know he's been pretty emphatic that he's not a lock but then again the media gets less interested when you are or at least these kids think so more attention around undecided (i.e Romeo Langford) at least he doesn't want to draw it out for 6-7 more months. As long as IU doesn't collapse in on itself over the first 1-3 months of the season I think we get a Nov-Jan commitment from TJD.

IU will play Layola (Chicago) in a "secret" scrimmage today at Bankers Life in Indy . I'm sure score or some highlights my leak out , but then Thursday will play it's one exhibition game before opening the season against Chicago State the following week . Given the painful losses of FB season so far the Hoosier basketball season is a welcomed sight for most in Bloomington

Hoosier start of the year unranked but received a far amount of votes and are around 28th , picked 3rd in the Big10 preseason and many excited about the new/returning talent with Morgan and Langford 1-2 combo .

Biggest question is PG.... Who steps up? Experienced Devonte Green finally gets consistent, Al Durham grows and improves , or Robert Phinese steals the job should be a more entertaining and exciting season that has the Hoosier back in the Big Dance come March fingers crossed

Per rumor mill on twitter IU thoroughly handled Layola Chicago in scrimmage yesterday at Bankers Life, rumored score was 70-48 doubt it was a full 20 min halves. Also Frankie-Vision involved with the Langford family and does a good deal of Langfords videos tweeted out that Romeo added 19 pts and 10 rbs before deleting the tweet yesterday. Also too Juwan Morgan was said to have a great scrimmage and Porter Moses the Loyola HC said IU looks to have all the pieces to be a final four team.

Exciting stuff but take it for what its worth a scrimmage no one saw in late October.

Exhibition game tonight vs SIU at SSAH.

Things to take note of: Game will be on BTN plus you will need a subscription to watch live, replay on BTN Friday at 11PM.

Obviously the debut of Romeo Langford  should not disappoint!

PG is a huge question mark especially with Devonte Green out for what Archie Miller said "could be sometime." Look for Freshman Phinese and Al Durham to handle most of that role with Green out.

IU fans will also have to wait for the debut of Race Thompson the (RS) Freshman also dealing with nagging injuries.

Hoosiers get to 1-0 over a struggling Chi State team but the Hoosiers looked solid from the get go..... things that stood out

Rob Phinese: Clearly has to be the PG moving forward and has stolen that part from Devonte Green but we can still see Green at the 2 or back-up 1. Rob is just all PG pass first score 2nd and solid on setting a tone defensively.

Juwan: He was who he needs to be and last night he didn't need to be the guy that scores 20, just a good solid effort on both ends and being a senior leader.

McBob: Starting to hit 3's consistently ohhh noooo this could be huge.

Fitzner: IU seems to have struck gold on another solid bench grad transfer like (Zeisolft/Beienfelt) a guy who is not your first priority and will kill you when you forget about him because he can knock it down from anywhere.

Langford: Was the Romeo everyone was hoping and praying for in the first half 17 points 4 assists kid can just play ball I look for this to be a consistent night of 17-22 points with the occasional 30+ point feeling it nights, we will enjoy it if only for a year.

Free Throws: EHHHHHHHHHH 57% not good, hope it was just a case of IU is not used to getting to the line that way last year hopefully it fixes itself, hey if Archie aint too worried I aint worries guy has fixed things he said he was so far.

Thompson and Hunter debuts: It Freshman expected to add depth at Forward have yet to make IU debts do to injury. Hopefully we see them back for these games where getting experience counts to be ready for big ten play.

Overall I would say 8.5/10 on the Hoosiers performance would have given other point to 9.5 if they had hit better on Free Throws,Montana State in town on Friday wont watch becuase playoff off Football but then two BIG games next week vs Marquette and Arkansas!

IU fans getting a little shook at the news recruit 5-star PF Trayce Jackson-Davis will not sign in the early period Nov. 14th-Nov.20th. Says he is not ready to make the decisions between IU, MSU, and UCLA. Personally, yes I think IU is still out in front and yes I think he just wants to get into Dec-Jan and see how IU is preforming before making a decision. He can verbally commit at any time. We were patient for Romeo and we should be for TJD. Let's enjoy this exciting Hoosier team now and with success will come TJD IMO.

don't you think he is just waiting to see what NCAA does now that FBI gave them info?

Doesn't seem as any of the 3 left on his list are in any trouble from the last I heard, honestly I think its between MSU and IU and he wants to see these two play games into the Big 10 season. Were also talking about 17-18 year olds who have some ego. I think he wants to state to make a fuss for him like they did for Romeo a bit especially since he plays at a football school like CG plus with Keion going to Prep School it essentially makes him the main star in HS basketball in the state this year. IMHO
