  1. probably a silly question, but how many football players from Valpo came from Boone Grove and Wheeler back in the day?
  2. football really breaks down to blocking and tackling, if you don't do those two things you wont be successful at any level. Judson has plenty of speed and some talent but they definitely lack those two things. Poor tackling can turn a 1 yard run into a touchdown and poor blocking prevents anything positive from happening.
  3. Should be a ton of speed but very little size and strength. Things sure have changed around NJSP from years ago. RC wont even waist gas money to come play us any more.
  4. Coming from a small town that used to be fairly dominant in athletics I can clearly say that starting kids in football in kindergarten or 1st grade has absolutely killed participation in middle and high school. Numbers are down all over the state and kids are burned out before they get to high school. I have coached in different youth leagues and different sports in middle school and high school, and looking back now I wouldn't endorse youth football again. I've seen young kids turned away and not allowed to play because they are too big, some of these kids end up being studs but never play again because of crap like that. Parents and bad coaches also ruin the experience. Basically I'm saying since Pop Warner has arrived in our community I have seen no positive trickle over to the high school level and in fact it just the opposite. We had to wait until 6th grade to ever play football and our numbers were always good. Football used to be so special to us because we had to wait to be apart of it and it was a privilege. What kills me Is that I see high school kids who have played since 1st grade still have technique issues and mental errors that we would of corrected in year one. I know this is suppose to be about brain trauma so sorry I got off track (MUST BE THE CTE KICKING IN)
  5. Should be one sport at a time period, you cant give 100 percent of yourself to any sport if you are doing several of them, let alone being a student and whatever responsibilities you have at home. Time to keep it simple.
  6. I don't know what age kids should start playing full contact though. We at North Judson were sold into believing that adding youth league was gonna build a super program for the varsity, but honestly it had done the exact opposite. Seems like kids get burnt out before high school and the ones that stay don't HATE losing.
  7. We need a study to see how much your testicles shrink when being over ran by liberal feminism and the demasunlinity of our nation. We as a society have already lost touch with the meaning of family by having a dad at home or at least in the picture. Fathers need to step up and lead by example, starts at home and then onto the fields, courts, weight rooms etc
  8. not seeing NJSP on this schedule is some bs
  9. I seriously believe if you don't have a big neck/traps then you are missing some natural force absorbing cushioning. kinda like shocks. I'm not saying concussions would never happen because this is a violent sport but they sure would be less then they are now with these skinny necked kids running around. Seems like this should be a type of prehab or insurance for safety. its silly that we spend endless hours teaching heads up football, we extremely limit hitting in practice, we change the actual rules of the game, we actually sissify the game until it's hardly recognizable at times, but we don't build our bodies to be able to take these hits.
  10. big traps and old school neck machine should eliminate half of these concussions. 20 years ago you could spot a football player from a mile away because we all had big necks and traps.
  11. Kirk Kennedy Retires

I'm still embarrassed the way he was treated in North Judson. A couple years earlier and he would have been the perfect fit. For some reason our culture has changed to something that's unrecognizable. I just have a hard time of being ok with losing by 50 points but being offended when you get worked hard or yelled at. I wish him the best and hope he enjoys his rest and relaxation
  12. 2018 1A

I really wish I could say North Judson would be back to the days of old glory but I cant. Looks like Pioneers title to lose, but who knows what could happen from one season the the next.
  13. it would take 5 minutes to seed the top 2 teams in each sectional, the rest just fall where they fall.
  14. That’s awesome, I appreciate it
