Cathedral fans are really showing their @$$ on Twitter right now spreading a completely false rumor about an outstanding young man. Please know that when the entire state hates you, this type of stuff is why. It's inexcusable reprehensible behavior by adults towards a high school kid.

Nonetheless, what a great time to be alive on the Eastside burbs!!! MV, NP, and TC all making to semistate. All beating private Catholic schools to do it. All you Nancy's saying NPs schedule is trash, how you like that!? GO MARAUDERS!

I have seen some very questionable twitter posts by New Pal too......Not condoning either way but people that want to be Asshoe will be, and New Pal has one doing the same.  Both kids targeted (New Pal and Cathedral) are outstanding players.  That's what happens when you are the best.

It was Cathedral controlling the game until midway through the 3rd quarter.  The Irish had the ball on the 10 yard line looking like they were going to add to a 10-7 lead, and then the bottom fell out after not being able to finish off another drive.  It just snowballed from there.  It was a very good season for the Irish that ended in such a sudden fashion that it was head spinning.  Orin Edwards was an outstanding QB who had one bad game and that was tonight.  New Pal had a lot to do with that with their bend but don't break defense.  They got the stops in the red zone.  Actually the Irish may have thrown a few passes too many tonight.  The running game seen to be in gear but it seemed the Irish just went away from it at times.

Spegal is the real deal.  No one for many years has run for over 280 against the Irish.  He seemed invisible at times.  He got outside way too many times and when he did he was gone, or at least got a big hunk of yards.  It will be tough for any team to stop him as he went against a pretty good defense and looked like a true all stater.

Good luck to the Dragons, although I don't think they'll need it as long as they have #32.

Agree - Someone earlier commented on run game. The O-line was getting it done....runners peeling off yards 3 and 4 at a time and producing extended drives in the first half.  No reason to not run the ball in the red zone. Play caller shares blame on that one (whoever that is).  Good game until 4th Q. Congrats to  New Pal

D1 talent for sure, and I said that. Just don't think they have any P5 talent like they've had in years past. There's no Ekiyor (Alabama), Stepp (USC), McLaurin (Ohio State), Bortenschlager (Maryland), Werner (Ohio State), Karras (Illinois), etc etc.

Great team this year for sure, better than any of the teams during their 5peat. Just not sure they have the top end individual talent like some of those teams had. That's not a slight by any means.

Gotcha, and agree - neither one is going to Ohio State.... but I thought one of them had a P5?  Both those kids have service academy offers I see. Tex had all three!  Those have all been ranked programs as of late.  I'd take that over Maryland any day. LOL

You know, that's a great question. I think those Cathedral teams from 10-15 had much better individual talent, but this team as a whole just seems to be bigger, faster, stronger, deeper, and a very good cohesive group. This years group has D1 talent, but you won't find a Ted Karras or Terry McLaurin who start now in the NFL or any P5 caliber talent, but they play extremely well as a group. Cathedral's best playmaker has been out since the Brebeuf game and isn't coming back, but they've still moved the ball extremely well even with his absence.

A little early to be guessing the next Karras or McLaurin (the Jerry Rice story comes to mind) but Cathedral does have solid D1 talent.  Didn't I see they have 6 All City players? Tex Elliott and Shiloh Means are All State, NIKE Opening picks. Looks like they both have tons of offers...probably the most recruited offense and defense players. Hopefully some new kids will get exposure with this playoff run.

I don't believe that is a Cathedral fan. At any rate number of D1 players means jack squat. What does matter is how a team plays together, how disciplined they play, and if they play hard in games. I would say both New Palestine and Cathedral this year check all of those boxes. They play together, they play disciplined (both teams will make mistakes because they are H.S. teens), and they play and work hard. That is why they are successful. I would say Center Grove fits that bill too and that is why they compete so well in the MIC most years with teams that may have more athletic talent than them. Just my 2 cents.

The question was about who had more "athletes"?   I think the opinion of hundreds of recruiters and position coaches who make it their living to evaluate talent does mean "squat"....... A LOT OF SQUAT!  Is it a perfect measure? No.  The number of All District, All State players might be another

i really would not say Center Grove is an athletic football team... and if they are to you then okay... 1 game out of many they have played. Cathedral has things new pal has not seen while cathedral has seen everything New Pal has plus more.

Do not try and argue that.

good way to solve this question would be to count how many D1 players are on each team. I think Cathedral has 6 and CG only 4 but you guys feel free to correct me (and I know you will - lol)
