I think the issue with the pitch count is all players are assumed to be the exact same.  No two athletes are the same, therefore one athlete could throw 70 pitches and be fine, whereas another might throw 50 and be gassed.

We also have to take into account the different travel teams that these kids are on.  Softball use to have a rule where you could not play travel ball while in season! (This might still be a rule the softball coach at my former school who was a travel coach told me.) Imagine that a sport being proactive and putting the athletes health in front of money for travel sports!

Their "travel team" has no bearing on the high school baseball season. HS kids aren't allowed to have contact with their travel team from the time HS tryouts start in early March until their HS season ends.

They still run under center split back

or in old Madden 94 terms:   NEAR and FAR formation!!!

It's a formation they use, they do not run this exclusively by any stretch; watch some tape. This is a old school staff that is trying to hold on to a bit of their identity from the 1900's. IMO this formation will continue to be weeded out and in the next 2-3 years it will be history.

Just a side note De LaSalle Concord CA held a 151 game win streak running a disciplined triple option attack under Coach Ladouceur. They produced many D1 players that even went on to the NFL.

Do you not understand the game has changed over the last 15 years? Do you not believe these athletes have evolved? If the answer to any of these questions is, "no" I would highly recommend getting out and watching some more HS football versus citing statistics from the 90's and early 2000's. The spread wasn't created because coaches we're bored; I promise you that. It was necessary to offset how freakish these athletes we're becoming (among other reasons).

Love the offense he will bring to Noblesville.  Being different will be a huge advantage for him and the Millers.

Now, can he get the kids and community to buy in?  That will be the hardest part in my opinion.

I disagree with the idea that this will be a huge advantage for the Millers. Good luck running this offense in the HCC without 7 down lineman/te's that are absolute a$$ kickers. Being Noblesville doesn't have that now (or in the foreseeable future) I don't see how this is an advantage. Line up like that with inferior lineman/athletes and they'll lose by 30 week in and week out. I've never been a fan of coaches that run, "their system" no matter what personnel they have. What happens when Noblesville has 2-3 talented WR's, a QB that can throw it and no blocking TE's? You still line up in the double tight full house and try to ram it down people's throats? Maybe that works in the rural leagues but I don't think he's got a shot versus HCC/MIC teams with this mentality. I know, what about Center Grove? Cannot compare Noblesville football to GC. I also think you'll see a change in their offense the next couple years with the dual threat Jackson taking the snaps. Already saw a little but of a change this year because Coach knew he needed to play to his teams strength's and not just, "his scheme". Anyway, I know Noblesville football and the personnel well and I don't see this as any type of advantage for them.

The MIC may be down but that means they are only very, very good and there isn't a dominant team. It wouldn't surprise me to see 3 of the final 4 teams from the MIC this year. It also wouldn't surprise me to see no MIC teams out by the semi-finals because there are good teams in those sectionals ready to take the next step. The fact the teams are more even in the MIC shouldn't indicate anything other than there is no dominant team this year. Even the "bad teams' (Pike, LC, LN) are very talented and would win or compete in every other 6A conference.

You realize the HCC was 5-2 against the MIC this year, right? Of those 5 wins, they included:

Avon beating one of your champs (BD) 41-17

Fishers Beating one of your champs (NC) 26-0

Brownsburg beating one of your champs (NC) 29-25

    HSE beat LC 24-20

    Zionsville beat Pike 17-7

    Your two wins were:

LC (one of your champs) beating the HCC's 5th best team, HSE, 17-16

Carmel beating Noblesville (by a million)

To say the MIC is just sooooo good and that's the reason for all the "L' within the conference.....is bonkers.
