Don’t care. 2018 Tigers could have hung 70 on 10 of their 15 opponents. Run the ball up the middle with JV and freshman.
But when your not use to success you don’t understand how to handle it.

What an ignorant comment. Running clock doesn't start until the 2H  and North had their backups and JV by the end of the 1Q. They didn't even play a few of their best players. Central is THAT bad look what we did to them with our backups. Multiple INTS and special teams miscues let these games get that out of hand.

Agreed,  RPO schemes should be banned in traditional 11-man Indiana high school tackle football.  Let the scoring is everything zealots take it to to their 8-man football "game".

There are PLENTY of ways to stop RPOs. Any D-coordinator worth his weight has a plan for RPOs. Don't blame the offensive coordinators and the RPO because you have a old school defensive coordinator who wants to sit in a 46 cover 3 and get picked apart all game. They deserve to get beat 50-0. Which of course you would say they should just eliminate their program at that point.

How can someone with a 9-43 record be considered a great hire?

I think you underestimate how much he did for that Bosse program. It's a struggle to get people to show up much less try and win games. On top of that he had to do a bunch of work in youth football development. The record doesn't indicate his ability to coach. He took a 2-8 team into sectionals and took 11-1 Big 8 Champs Boonville to the wire in 2018.

MTV- can the new coach (whoever it will be) build on what Coach Brunson was building.? Will the move to the PAC help or hurt them?  I would guess help, but you never know.

I don't know if I agree with this. I think short term with the right coach MTV can win some games but I think the move to the (big school) PAC hurts their ability to win long term.

Those D3 programs have made the playoffs, but in general the HCAC conference champs are lower quality than the winners of the other D3 conferences. It's very rare for them to win a playoff game and most of the HCAC teams go 0-2 in non-conference play. It's still decent football, and I don't see a few extra PWOs will have much of an impact to that.

Definitely understand your point but all everyone sees is the final score. People don't realize that over the past two years in the tournament Hanover has been significantly hindered by injuries. This year alone against Mt. Union they didn't have: 1st team all conference starting QB, all-american potential LB, all american 3T DL, 1st team all conference CB, and a banged up offensive line. Obviously not an excuse (most likely don't beat UMU anyways) but if Hanover would have gotten Hope College's NCAA draw they definitely win a playoff game. HCAC has their years in terms of quality at a national level but the conference is top heavy which hurts them nationally.

Well, Bosse and Harrison were the 7th & 8th place teams in the SIAC compared to Mt. Vernon and Boonville being 2nd and 3rd in the Big 8.  We played both Jasper and Boonville and I would not characterize either as being "far more" physical than anyone in the SIAC except Harrison.

I understand your point. I was thinking more in a historical context. Looking at past 5-10 years I personally give the physicality nod to the Big 8.

I'm interested to see how VL and Jasper handle the overall physicality of a full SIAC slate. Not saying they can't/won't compete on a weekly basis, but the toll on the body will be a little different than that of a Big 8 schedule.

In terms of physicality the Big 8 in my opinion was far more physical. SIAC more talented no doubt, but you can't tell me Bosse or Harrison is more physical than Mount Vernon or Boonville.

Any chance a former Panther that did a good job at Harrison and now Mt Vernon would have a shot? I can’t see Hart leaving GS with QB in place for a deep run.

Crazy that 3 HC jobs are available. Not sure Harrison and Bosse will have a lot of applicants. I could be wrong. I can see Reitz attracting a large number of candidates.

I am surprised Brunson isn't getting more talk. Not sure he would leave Mt. Vernon for personal reasons but still. I wouldn't be surprised if Reitz goes ultra external for the hire.
