  1. Really surprised Devin Mockobee didn't make this list. Only available to play 8 games due to a covid quarantine and a early exit in the playoffs he put up 189 carries for 1820 yards and 27 Tds heck in Mockobees last 13 Games hes had 258 Carries for 2734 yards and 46 TDs.  Even though the Navy RB/ATH commit is a 3 star recruit hes probly one of the most underated players in the state because he's not from the Indy area. The film doesn't lie on this kid if you haven't seen him check him out.

It is clear every week that you would prefer different formations and play calling.  Maybe you are right I don't know.  I have a feeling the staff has a pretty good idea where the ball should go LOL.

😆 hey now I will say this the Mt.Vernon game was called great after the first drive pretty much exactly what I've been saying the past 2 years 😆 The play action pass game was wide open.

Well I'd like to see us keep him under 200 yards rushing.  Not sure that's possible he's a special talent.

If Boonville comes out first drive in the spread offense Id be willing to bet that happens. Southridge held him to a lil over 100 yards but that was with Boonvilles mostly backup Oline and in the rain running that same spread offense. Mt.Vernon shut it down on the first drive then the offense was changed.... Heck Mockobee had Negative rushing yards late in the 2nd qtr of the Heritage Hills game until he broke a big one and the Offensive calls where changed after half to get him in the best situation to do what he does. Every opposing team knows he's gonna get the ball.

Was told today MV's starting QB was in quarantine this past Friday. Would assume that will be the case this Friday too.  Does anyone know?

Yea he didn't play Friday. They had a Freshman in there that is very quick and when givin time he can chuck the ball down field.

Mockobee will likely lead the state in rushing and all-purpose yards, but for the reasons mentioned already and Boonville unlikely to advance past the sectional, he'll not get it, as has been the case for many talented skill players outside of the  IndyStar radar.

Have to agree for sure, here's Mockobees Stats from tonight. Devin Mockobee 16 carries 193 yds 3 offensive TDs runs of 80 47 and 34 yds 2 defensive TDs 98 yr interception return 43 yd fumble recovery Go Pioneers!

  6. Pioneers stepped up the D tonight and brought out some smashmouth offense starting with their 2nd possession to get the job done. 35-7 Pioneers.                                           Devin Mockobee 16 carries 193 yds 3 offensive TDs runs of 80 47 and 34 yds.                2 defensive TDs 98 yr interception return 43 yd fumble recovery Go Pioneers!

I just watched a highlight of one of his runs against Heritage Hills (I think).  And OH MY GOODNESS. I felt that stiff arm he gave to that kid on the sideline

Yea hes the real deal! He was just late on getting the exposure he needed to bring the big offers.    247sports has him at a 82 3 🌟 his profile on their site just went active in July.lol Navy stole one from the Hoosier State with this kid. When his upper body catches up to his lower body this kid will play at 215-225 in College.

  8. Southern Indiana- Boonvilles Devin Mockobee. The Navy commit is putting together a Strong Season so far. 1219yds 19tds AVG 10ypc. He put on 15LBs over the off season and its showing. Hes probly the most under the radar recruit in the State. Hes 6'0 197Lb has a Verified 122" broadjump, 34"vertical, 6.98 3 cone and a 4.0 shuttle.

Yeah it sounds like they may be without their QB and some others this week. I think Boonville would probably beat them regardless.

The only way Boonville wins this game is if the come out in a true smashmouth offense out of the gate. Mockobee does his best work after the 2nd half adjustment that usually gets made to go to it. This game could be another shoot out.

I just saw that Mockobee is the second leading rusher in the NATION!  Man the Miner defense had better pack a lunch for this game.  How many D-1 offers is this kid getting?

He only had 4 D1 offers before committing to Navy before the season. It's been a crazy recruiting trip for him. He was set to get out to camps this past spring/summer to show case the work he put in during the off-season. Unfortunately Covid19 put a stop to that.  Hes 6'0 weighing a true 195LB his legs are powerful, when his upper body catches up to his lower hes a P5 program back Navy got a steal with this kid.

If Linton wants to win they have to either:

    A) run a track meet and simply outscore boonville

    B) have 11 hats on the football when Mockobee is the ball carrier.  The kids contact balance is superb. He has a slippery spin move and a good stiff arm. He has the speed, the power, the agility.....so put 11 hats on the football or be put on a poster for a week after the game as people watch Mockobee have a top 10 play lol

HH and GS had guys in position....it wasn’t enough. You have to have multiple guys there and they have to make a solid tackle.

Boy was I wrong about this game. I figured Mock would have a solid game rushing but definitely did not expect this type of close shootout. Mock is looking like a power 5 running back.

Mockobee put on 15LBs of Muscle during the off season and added almost 2"s to his vertical. He told me before the start of the season after the first day of contact that this year was going to be interesting because he felt that his off season changes were going to really show.  Mockobee has AVGd 10ypc Sophomore and Junior seasons.

Head and shoulders the MVP of the PAC this year and all of SW Indiana.  Doesn’t matter how many games we are in.  No one is close to that level.  If he was at GS you would be his biggest cheerleader.  How did Big Ten teams let the kid out of the territory?

So here's the story on Mockobees recruiting. He went to several rivals camps as a "DB" between his sophomore to junior year because that's the position he felt he could go d1 gained some interest Cincinnati, toledo,wmu... Well he had a stellar junior season and started to gain interest from schools as a RB. So he took basketball season off to gain weight and get his body to a TRUE 195LBs and was set to make trips as a RB to these camps to showcase his skills this past summer but unfortunately covid19 shut those plans down. I was hoping a Big 10 team would get him on board but unfortunately it didn't happen. I believe because of exposure.  Mockobee has a 122" broadjump, 34" vertical, 6.98 3 cone, 4.0 pro shuttle. Hes got the measurements for sure to play Big10 forsure.
