  1. More than 1 fan according to the rumblings along the fence and in the bleachers.  Depth chart...lol.  Sorry to continue to hear about and see defensive problems yet not get it fixed.  To put it in baseball terms, don’t complain about your fielding if you aren’t taking ground ball after ground ball at practice.  You can’t shag fly balls during batting practice and home run derby and expect something different on defense on Friday nights.  This came from a prominent offensive player’s parent last night.

Well, fortunately for the GS defensive staff (and the GS football community in general) pink slips won't be coming tomorrow morning at weights, nor any time soon most likely.  I watched the same game you did, however the game I saw had a solid D plan with players in position to make plays for the greatest majority of the game. To say otherwise is shortsighted, IMO.  Mockabee is a specimen and just flat out showed tonight he belongs in D1.

Okay what did you see that was different on defense from the Washington game?  Same scheme and play calls as any other game this season.  I saw a few different calls that we haven’t used much since last season on the 1st 2 Boonville drives.  Then we reverted back to the same vanilla calls and pass coverage we usually use, unless trips dictated otherwise.  What did you see that was specifically designed to slow down Mockobee and the ground game?  Tucker came in a few times against their heavy set and that was the only difference.  I’m willingly to bet that if you watch the Boonville versus SR and HH games, you will see Mockobee contacted more in the backfield than he was against GS.  You can’t give a D1 athlete space and a full head of steam.  It will make for a very long night.

IMO being shortsighted is punting to Mockobee twice in the last half of the 4th quarter after punting to a kid twice in the 4th ended our season last year.  And needing a 1st down to ice the game on our last possession and losing 3 yards after 3 plays with a D1 QB and maybe a D1 lineman.  Your starting RB goes out for 1 of the plays and you don’t sub in Green, Murfin, Luttrell, Malone, Bryant, or Moorman.  Instead give it to a freshman that hasn’t played 1 varsity down yet all season.

Our plan was to let him run himself out!  LOL

If you think GS’s defensive coaches had a plan, you didn’t watch the same game I did.  I think we may have fared better letting the kids call their own defense.  Usually after games like this college and NFL defensive staffs get their pink slips in the next morning.

Ha!  So you are going there huh?  :classic_unsure:  Coach Wilk and staff are doing just fine with what they've been dealt this season so far.  Apparently, many are quick to forget who ran through the South in 3A last year?  I don't think he needs any advice on how to win football games, BRO!  Come on man!

Sorry don’t understand how some talk trash about a team or coach that embarrassed them less than 12 months ago with the mercy rule.  SR has won state lately and HH has been there.  Some of us remember, trust me!

We are 4 games in bro.

Head and shoulders the MVP of the PAC this year and all of SW Indiana.  Doesn’t matter how many games we are in.  No one is close to that level.  If he was at GS you would be his biggest cheerleader.  How did Big Ten teams let the kid out of the territory?

I'm appreciating the confidence in GS from some but I'm not that confident.  Our offense and defense has improved weekly but they have not impressed me either with a wow factor like years past.  Maybe I'm being to critical and my expectations were/are unrealistic.  I want nothing more than for us to come out and bust them in the mouth quick fast and in a hurry.  I will be on here and say I was wrong if we score 42 points against them and win big or by two scores.  I love the Titans and the program.

Maybe its the fact that we didn’t put 60 on Forest Park or South Spencer to start the season.  Or that the fastest kid on the field only touched the ball once in a loss to Columbus (64 yard reception) and 3 times in the loss to Whiteland.  We have to get the ball in the hands of the playmakers for our offense to be dangerous.  Hopefully it starts happening soon.
