Now THAT is how you troll post #1. Kudos!
See y'all tonight at OV, cause we all know you're no THS Brave 😂
Serious question though: Do I stop on 67 and get a tenderloin as big as my head or wait until the food truck that will be at your game?
Tenderloin, definitely lol

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Whitestown High School again at some point!
-
Our AD at Owen Valley has instructed us to do them again - and will have to do them again every year

We have a new turf field and we would like to practice a couple of days a week should we wait until track practice is over or do you think it is ok to go right after school
Go right after school! Small colleges (ones with a track around the field) practice spring ball while track is going on. We will do this as well. They only time we won't is if the baseball and softball fields are too wet, we would alter our plans to allow baseball and softball to use our football field to get a quality practice in since they are in season. You will not get in the way of track practice.

I could probably look this up myself, but I'd rather someone else tell me this morning as I've got work to do 😛
Does 8-man football play on the same size field as a regular high school football field? As well, if these new 8-man football schools are likely NEW completely to football, will they be building new stadiums or using a nearby school's facilities instead? Is the thought that games will be played on Friday night as well? I would guess many of the schools would want/need to rent other school's facilities and then for logistics purposes, games will be played on a night other than Friday, yeah?
The 8 man field is a little smaller. When I lived in Montana, 8 man and 6 man football was pretty popular. We recruited a lot of 8 man and 6 man players! The games were also played on Friday nights there, but doesn't necessarily mean it would be best here. This entire thing is going to be very good if done right. I love it.

2011 IC
Stevenson played fb around 210 and Reece around 200. In wrestling, Stevenson wrestled down at 189 where he was runner-up in sudden death when the son of IU wrestling coach escaped the hold, and Reece wrestled up at 215 where he was champion due to his quickness advantage despite giving up size. Reece pinned all four opponents at finals, also.
I have noticed in recent years that more athletes are discovering that competing at a healthy weight is better than attempting to drain self in cutting too much, although there are freak athletes that can cut absurdly and still beat the crap out of you a day later.
Trey Reece was a very very very good wrestler. That is a tremendous example!

Why do some football coaches still think that you have to lose weight to wrestle. As a wrestling coach and football coach, this is the one thing that drives me nuts about some football coaches. With the weight management plan that is involved with high school wrestling, the days of not eating and wearing plastics are over.
I love this. But they "Can" be over and "should" be over. But are very much not over.

I like the changes! The Intentional Grounding Rule is now aligned with every level of college football and the NFL. Good change!

Sad to report this morning that Betsy Fouts, wife of longtime North Putnam defensive coordinator & NPMS math teacher Dan Fouts, has posted on her Facebook page that Dan passed away this morning due to both lungs collapsing and the hospital could not revive him. Dan had been battling COVID and its effects since Christmas break and had recently been allowed to come out of sedation as he was starting to breathe on his own more and more. Please pray for his family, students and CougarNation as we deal with another blow to this small community. Thank you.
Horrible News. Sorry for your loss and the loss of so many! You are all in the thoughts and prayers of our community.

I am biased to Owen Valley in the WIC lol, but I think Northview will always have talent in the big school side. Sullivan and Owen Valley have the more winnable Sectional. In the small school side, I believe Greencastle has the best facilities and South Putnam has the most "community" support.

Awesome hire. He is a great guy and he will turn that place around quickly!

Owen Valley has two Math openings coming open in 2022-2023 School Year. Would love to have a football/basketball coach interested in coaching either sport reach out! Owen Valley basketball was 11-9 last season and currently 2-2. Owen Valley Football just went 10-2 and won their sectional! You can reach out to their Head Football Coach. rgibson@socs.k12.in.us

What did you think of NV when you played them?
You can tell that they are extremely well coached. Very disciplined and do not make very mistakes. They also play very hard

I believe they have good chance playing at home. Yes Owen Valley beat NV but missing several starters due to covid protocol ....
This is absolutely untrue. 100% inaccurate. I understand your want to make the OV win sound less impressive, but it is simply wrong.

I guess this is as good of a place as any to appeal to the IHSAA to fix the comically put together Sectional 30??
What is comical about it? Just curious!

Last off-season myself and a few others on this board (and my gf) went sectional by sectional throughout the state and found who has turf/doesn't. I might have maybe a few wrong, but this list is pretty accurate.
If you know of a school that is getting turf for 2020 or is voting on it soon, or has it in the works for 2021 please let me know.
