  1. Riverton Parke will once again be hosting a 7 on 7 and Strongman competition for Middle School teams on Saturday, July 23rd. Last year's competition was a lot of fun. And we unoffically have 6 teams signed up to participate for this year. We are looking for at least 2 more. Last year's participants included Riverton Parke, South Putnam, North Vermillion and Tri-West middle schools.

Email OC Jared Garman garmanj@swparke.k12.in.us or Head Coach Brad Sanders bjsmecca@gmail.com if you are interested.

  2. I don't know if this is the place to post this, but:

Riverton Parke will be hosting a Junior High 7 on 7 tournament on Saturday, July 24th starting at 9 am. We already have one school coming that day and we're looking for 6 more teams to come join us.

This will be for incoming Junior High and Middle School teams of 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

PM me or send an email: garmanj@swparke.k12.in.us if you are interested in bringing a team.

  3. Riverton Parke High School, a 1A located in Southern Parke County, is looking for opponents for weeks 1 and 2 of the 2022 season. Our conference, the WRC, is restructuring its schedules so that most schools will have their first two weeks open, finishing with 7 straight conference games.

If interested, please contact our Athletic Director, Charlie Martin.  martinc@swparke.k12.in.us

I'm reminded of the famous line from Tom Hanks character  as he is shot and dying during the battle with the German tank brigade on the French front.  "Earn it" is what Hanks says to young Daniel Patrick Ryan as he takes his last breath

If we continue to expand and allow more marginal teams in, are they truly "earning" it?

You of course meant James Francis Ryan. Daniel Patrick was one of his brothers that were killed, I believe.

Not all the time.. but yes indeed our AD opens up the track in 'Big Games" so that people can essentially walk alongside field separated by a yellow rope. In my playing days it  was like this every game... then they redid the whole thing and with the new track and fence separated fans from the track.  It really was a sight to see!  Before I started broadcasting..I would walk the sidelines as well... Loved hearing the action up close...

I remember my first experience at Linton when I was coaching at West Vigo in 2006. We were surrounded by a sea of Red. The house across from the north end zone had some die hard Linton fans, lol. They weren't afraid to let us know how we were doing! It was a great game. Not often you get out of there with a win like we did.
