The 29th Annual Southern Indiana Bench Press and Squat Championships will take place at South Spencer High School on Saturday February 25, 2023. Male athletes compete in two age divisions Freshmen-Sophomore & Junior-Senior. There are 10 weight classes in the two age divisions. Team trophies for 1st-3rd place and individual trophies and medals for 1st-4th place are awarded. Female athletes will compete in two age divisions Freshmen-Sophomore & Junior-Senior, with 4 weight classes in the two age divisions. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. 2003-04 there was an East-West All-Star Game in May played at the Reitz Bowl. I played on the East with some teammates and friends. Hart led the West to a victory. I've been meaning to digitize the game film.
Coach Salters from Vincennes was the defensive MVP of that game and played on the West squad also. It was a good intense game.

The 3 turnovers impacted the final on this game. Can't give any team that many opportunities especially at home.

C'mon man you're playing in a 4 team conference with North Central (Farmersburg), Eastern Greene, and North Daviess.

Sometimes a good team just lays an egg. I was surprised Northview won, but mainly because Northview wasn't all that impressive when we played them in 2019 and 2020. Looks as though they have improved and will be a big challenge in S24. Sagarin seems to have adjusted a little bit. Next week's games will give a little clearer picture - six games against opponents in 4 different classes.
Jasper offense in my opinion was good but when that option gets stuffed and you have to throw the ball which didnt happen that often in conference play. I don't think that type offense will get you deep into the tournament in 4A. Maybe smaller classes but not with the size of kids in 4a and if having to play from behind on the scoreboard.

Congrats to the North Freshmen! 7-0 SIAC Champs. Played the entire season without their best lineman, he has been a varsity starter since week 2. They also endured several injuries, including a concussion to their top RB who suffered a concussion towards the end our week 5 varsity game. Last night he returned against Central and had 2 carries for 124 yards and 2 TDs!
This is a GREAT class, and has won their last 23 games.
They'll end up going to memorial......

I've seen Memorial play and also Jasper. One thing sticks out the most for me is if memorials run gets stopped they pass, and if Jaspers runs gets stopped like last week they struggle...........Just an observation.

Castle doesn’t play GS correct but Castle is in 5A and so is Cathedral . GS looks to have a better
chance at LOS then the Knights....
