There were bad calls on both sides. But that’s not what won/lost the game for either team.
the last score by eastbrook was scored on a non call offensive pass interference when our guy was about to intercept

I wish Tipton well. Eastbrook got completely screwed out of that football game!!
What game were you watching?
these were probably the two best teams in the state.

Word on the street: Tomorrows CLC vs LCC game is the sectional championship.
Is Trader's Point out?

Doing it on purpose with no symptoms after a losing game would make it appear you were being vindictive.
Not sure how contact tracing would work in this situation...up to each health department, I suppose.

What controversy? It could happen.
I would think every coach by that time has his entire team e-learning by that point.
Easier said than done when you have kids taking AP classes, I believe they have to be in person for those classes?

I think it's absolutely ridiculous. We have had some players have this issue this year. They are already being punished by having to isolate for up to 2 weeks for something that is completely out of their control. I always thought the practice thing was so that kids coming back from injuries were eased back in so they aren't reinjured. The players I know who have had this issue were doing workouts on their own time at their own home while isolating, never were sick and then find out they still have 4 more days before they can play. RIDICULOUS! I personally know my child is in such top physical shape and they would be doing things on their own at home the additional time would be completely unneeded if truly just for their "safety." Instead they are treating this as almost punitive.

I understand the situation. But the fact of the matter is he moved back here to play his senior season because of what was going on in Illinois. He is not the only one.
We were told by a high school coach that your senior year transfer rules didn't apply and you could go to any school? Is that not the case?
-
This is a great story! Glad that both teams were able to make this work. I still feel bad for the kids on the LCC team as they already had a delayed start to their season. It has to be extremely rough for them! Every game is a blessing!

Totally should’ve took a knee! Doesn’t surprise me at all!
Not like it was a blow out game. It was a two score game with a excellent LCC team. You never know what could happen. The kid who scored is a senior backup. These are not professional athletes. We are living on a week to week dealio right now with COVID and the kid who scored is a senior and with injuries and dang contact tracing/COVID, you never know when your last week will be. Just let these players enjoy the chances they get when every game could be your last game forever. (since many won't play after high school)

No school related but we have had numerous employees have to self isolate due to symptoms or close contact and only one positive case since March. Also work in close contact.

Seeger had canceled their game with Benton Central and were able to return and play TL. Were the cases at TL related to the football team and their exposure to Seeger in the game Friday?
From what I can tell from Twitter, Twin Lakes high School is going virtual for the next two weeks. The article I read referenced multiple cases within the week. https://www.wlfi.com/content/news/Twin-Lakes-High-School-shutting-down-for-two-weeks-due-to-COVID-19-cases-572278091.html It doesn't reference sports as the cause of the outbreak.

Ads are personalized to what you have searched for or your interest on other sites as well as what the internet thinks your age demographic is! LOL

Masks on officials most of the game. Fans social distanced, it was blazing hot and as long as sitting in the stands social distanced masks off were okay. Anyone walking around had their masks on. Our AD said if he saw something concerning he would announce it. I felt very safe. No issues.

Basketball is contact sport AND indoors, which could make it a higher risk. I can't even think that far ahead yet...going week by week with fall sports!

Our school is checking temperatures. My kids have never had their temperature taken so much in their entire lives (we didn't own a thermometer for about 15 years until just the past couple of months.)

Sorry in my rant, I know this is from Ohio but wouldn’t be surprised if Holcomb pulls a similar stunt.
-
Who benefits the most from this? Testing companies. We all know the testing companies have Holcomb in their back pocket. Let's hope we don't have to adhere to this. Would be a logistical nightmare as well as complete torture to subject players to this invasive testing that often. Then what, if they have had a positive result or a antibody positive test, does that mean they don't have to keep doing this? Too many questions for me and effectively they are shutting down sports without really shutting down sports...
This also creates a false sense of security because between that 72 hours, you are not quarantining so you could acquire the virus during that time period...

Hate to be a pessimistic but I just don't see football season happening anytime soon...my player is also feeling it and he's going to be super bummer if it's canceled. Probably more than bummed, might be a full fledged depression.

I don't think a domino effect is necessarily inevitable here. There are plenty of school boards throughout the state that are passionate about return to school.
This is reassuring. Thank you for calming me down a bit! 🙂

I'm sick about this. Other schools are going to fall into line with this and it's going to be over for these kids. I feel horrible for kids sports seasons who are seniors. 😞 I also worry about these kids mental health.

Definitely start with a meeting with the coach. Facebook shouldn't be your first resort.

It is a LONG read but the actual legal filing by Perry Township is quite interesting. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/11/26/indiana-high-school-basketball-southport-appeals-ihsaa-tournament-ban/4306136002/
The sad part of this whole story is no matter who is at fault here, someone was trying to take advantage of a player (child) for their own benefit. From the Perry Township response, it sounds like he was in a bad situation with his "guardian."

Captain obvious started looking past this game and had Eastbrook in the state championship with andrean, so I’m sure he is going to need some time to get over this game where they were out played by Tipton.
at least the team got to ride home in comfort in their double decker charter buses !
