  1. I think it's absolutely ridiculous. We have had some players have this issue this year. They are already being punished by having to isolate for up to 2 weeks for something that is completely out of their control. I always thought the practice thing was so that kids coming back from injuries were eased back in so they aren't reinjured. The players I know who have had this issue were doing workouts on their own time at their own home while isolating, never were sick and then find out they still have 4 more days before they can play. RIDICULOUS! I personally know my child is in such top physical shape and they would be doing things on their own at home the additional time would be completely unneeded if truly just for their "safety." Instead they are treating this as almost punitive.

Totally should’ve took a knee!  Doesn’t surprise me at all!

Not like it was a blow out game. It was a two score game with a excellent LCC team.  You never know what could happen. The kid who scored is a senior backup. These are not professional athletes. We are living on a week to week dealio right now with COVID and the kid who scored is a senior and with injuries and dang contact tracing/COVID, you never know when your last week will be. Just let these players enjoy the chances they get when every game could be your last game forever. (since many won't play after high school)

Seeger had canceled their game with Benton Central and were able to return and play TL.  Were the cases at TL related to the football team and their exposure to Seeger in the game Friday?

From what I can tell from Twitter, Twin Lakes high School is going virtual for the next two weeks. The article I read referenced multiple cases within the week. https://www.wlfi.com/content/news/Twin-Lakes-High-School-shutting-down-for-two-weeks-due-to-COVID-19-cases-572278091.html It doesn't reference sports as the cause of the outbreak.

  4. Masks on officials most of the game. Fans social distanced, it was blazing hot and as long as sitting in the stands social distanced masks off were okay. Anyone walking around had their masks on. Our AD said if he saw something concerning he would announce it. I felt very safe. No issues.

  5. Who benefits the most from this? Testing companies. We all know the testing companies have Holcomb in their back pocket. Let's hope we don't have to adhere to this. Would be a logistical nightmare as well as complete torture to subject players to this invasive testing that often. Then what, if they have had a positive result or a antibody positive test, does that mean they don't have to keep doing this? Too many questions for me and effectively they are shutting down sports without really shutting down sports...

This also creates a false sense of security because between that 72 hours, you are not quarantining so you could acquire the virus during that time period...

  6. It is a LONG read but the actual legal filing by Perry Township is quite interesting. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/11/26/indiana-high-school-basketball-southport-appeals-ihsaa-tournament-ban/4306136002/

The sad part of this whole story is no matter who is at fault here, someone was trying to take advantage of a player (child) for their own benefit. From the Perry Township response, it sounds like he was in a bad situation with his "guardian."
