Yes, I've been wondering that myself, They will be good but not as good as last year. They had good/great O last year, this year I think the D side is good, they did lose talent in the O side.

I won’t underestimate them but from what I’ve heard they might be better then years past, but they’re not going to be the team like they were last year. It will be a good game that’s for sure. I think Dwenger will pull through with the W though.

Luers looked like they sat a half dozen or so, too.  Three very different Qb's took reps and the best arm looks to be the 3rd.  Some of the smallest guys I've seen at Luers in a long, long time.

I don’t think any of the teams really wanted to risk any injuries to the starters before season actually started. That’s why I said it’s hard to really tell anything about how the season will go from the scrimmages.

    Carrolls defense looked good.

Dwenger looked flat but I also know they sat a few key players. Gave the younger kids more time. It was like watching NFL preseason game. I Do think the Saints will be ok. They are always slow the first game. Good chance they could lose next week at Wayne.

I really don’t think Dwenger was showing all that they have though. I’ve heard multiple people saying “this is a glorified practice” next week will be tough for Dwenger but I truly think we can’t really tell anything until actual game time. Scrimmages show some but I don’t believe we should be looking at them for any big information this year. Hard to tell how a team will be from just the scrimmages.

  4. Interested to see how these games, especially the first 2 play out. I’ve heard all the teams this year In the SAC should be decently competitive. I mean they usually always are but I know there have been a lot of transfers and switches to schools that could make a big difference.

  5. The important thing for everyone, especially in SAC is to get through regular season. Dwenger knows that they can compete but also knows never to underestimate any team. Look at last year with Dwenger, they played Fort Wayne Wayne first game of the season and blew them out of the water but watched Wayne go on to dominate other teams in the SAC and when we had to play them for the sectional championship it was a long hard fought battle. They were a force to be reckoned with. It’s hard to even just watch the scrimmages and tell what teams are going to be good because they don’t necessarily play their starters then. No one will really know until come game time this coming Friday.
