  1. It seems Linton hasn't been the greatest at securing the ball this year and I'd be curious what their turnover/fumble stats are compared to previous years.  The cold weather is certainly not going to help with that.

Hoping Linton will be able to at least move the ball on O and create some scores, but if they continue the trend of turnovers it's not going to be a happy outcome.

Pass defense has been spotty most of the year so we'll see if they are able to bend but not break.

The projected temps tonight bring back memories of the semi state at Eastern Hancock several years ago.  Low temps, precipitation and plenty of wind that night.  At least we don't have the precipitation expected tonight....

Yes. I think PH offense was better. Lintons defense was the toughest NV will face all year. And the Miner offense was pretty dang good.

Facing both PH and Linton in the same season sets the mindset at NV that we can compete with anyone.

That's odd. PH had not one, but two chances to beat NV yet they lost both times. The only loss NV has on their season is Linton. Offense, defense, special teams.....they all play their part. That's why it's called a Team win.

Lutheran is a tough opponent, but it looks like their defense tends to give up some points. And NV is not the team they want to do that with.

I'll take NV in this game. Think it will be a close game but not nearly as close as NV vs PH.

Congratulations to the Warriors on a great season. I just think MD will have an answer for the big DL that anchors NK’s defense.

    I like MD to win

I think NK size will be helpful on defense against runs between the tackles from MD, but I can't help wonder if that same size will hurt them too much overall against the speed of MD on getting to the outside, the short quick passes and screens.

My Mother taught me that when someone hurls insults at you, you stand up for myself.  Maybe you were raised differently...

As for re-positioning my panties, all good here...those Duluth Trading boxers I got last Christmas never bunch or bind, just like the ad says. ; - )

I was only trying to throw a little Momma jest in there somewhere. 🙂

Dang it....I've been wanting to try those Duluth boxers out.  Nothing holding me back now! lol

Again, with the ad hominem personal attack?  Most of us left this stuff behind in 5th grade.  What next, a "Your Momma" joke?  SMH

Your Momma should have taught you to let bygones be bygones. 😛

Think we're all being disrespectful to NK and MD by talking about a game from a week ago instead of the game tonight.

Let's all reposition our panties, agree to disagree, and maybe even squeeze in a group hug. 😁

Care to venture a guess of your own then?  Easy to scoff at others predictions, a bit more difficult to come up with your own.  I'l put my money where my keyboard is, MD 35-14

I'm only venturing a guess here, but I think with the position he's in, asking a question like that would kinda be like turning him into a Pete Rose.

  7. Wanted to give a shout out to foxbat, always a pleasure to bump into ya in a thread. 🙂

Settle down Tanka, you'll take your petting and like it.  ESPECIALLY if it gets me revoked from your fart sandwiches. (not sure that first part came out right)

I think I'm going to agree with the folks who are saying the cold temps are probably going to play a factor in the passing game plan for both teams.  If PH is pass heavy and that gets clamped down by coverage and or drops because of the cold temps, then a one dimensional PH run team doesn't scare me as much as a potentially one dimensional NV run team.

Not all the time.. but yes indeed our AD opens up the track in 'Big Games" so that people can essentially walk alongside field separated by a yellow rope. In my playing days it  was like this every game... then they redid the whole thing and with the new track and fence separated fans from the track.  It really was a sight to see!  Before I started broadcasting..I would walk the sidelines as well... Loved hearing the action up close...

And have your nice white socks turn almost completely black by the end of the night from the old track. My mom LOVED me for that.

I am assuming there will be no extra bleachers brought in to the game Friday night?

i know Rockville brought some in years ago when Linton came to town. And I’ve been to a few other games over the years when this happened.

So let me ask this. Has anyone been to a game where the visiting teams fans took a seat or section on the home teams side?

Yes.  I think North Knox would likely have this happen often considering the layout of the field and seating design. Personally I've never sat at their visitor bleachers in my lifetime. I'm sure there are other schools where it's fairly common.

  9. Ugh....even the faint smell of Sullivan love leaves my stomach feeling like I ate a Tanka hoagie. 😨

I'm still not really sure how to put that Linton/NK game and score into context for the NK/MD game. IMO, North Knox really made it a game against Linton, and the Miners didn't get a foothold until the 4th quarter.  Until that point the defense for both teams were the highlight of the game for me.
