While Memorial has certainly been a really good tournament team, I think sometimes people overlook the Tigers regular season successes. Only 12 regular season loses dating back to 2016 season. Averaging less than 2 losses per regular season over last 7 years. But I do agree about the coaches. They find a way to elevate the kids to a different mode come tournament time.
ERMHS has been dominate for some time...

funny how ermhs is up a class but could have won another title by going up two!

Yeah, if SIAC coaches have a bias against Memorial, it certainly doesn’t show up in the selections. So I’m just not buying that.
I do think it’s probably safe to assume that he didn’t get any support from Zirkelbach - who is a Memorial grad.
I don’t know what led to him being left off. I just think he got snubbed…happens to kids every year, really. Probably some kids from other schools who also deserved to be recognized.
seems to mostly happen to ermhs kids

I’m a bit of a homer, and I realize he missed 2 games. But I think Porter Rode got screwed by not being 2nd team.
RODE was a force. what are his numbers compared to the other rbs?

But they did contend for a pretend semi state title this past weekend! How did your game turn out @Thornton Melon?
only respect! did castle or md face athletes or coaching anywhere else like this? They are smart, took expereinces and made it positive. everyone likes an underdog on a post season run. its nice to see others fans enjoy it.

md beat north, jasper and castle. funny how mhs beat the two semi teams
-
Md jump out to a big lead, but Linton hangs four touchdowns and outscores MD the rest of the game. be interesting to see if they can slow down andrean

Memorial and Linton have never played in Football. Memorial did play Cathedral in the 1920's and 30's.

I’m pretty sure Memorial would be back in 3A this year, if they didn’t win the Regional last year. Would’ve have been fun seeing an GS/Memorial matchup this season. Lots of questions regarding Memorial next year as the trenches will be hit massively, but it seems like they will be reloaded for the 2024 season.
dont get comfortable at 3A! ermhs will only spend two years there.

Oh, my bad. Let me rephrase. I'd love to see the trophy anyone actually cares about from the week 4 and 9 wins.
playing up a class is tough

Memorial’s seniors played all four years of HS football in 4A.
that what we do

once again, ermhs is minamiazed by all siac schedule

I’m not an SIAC historian but I’m not sure there’s been many runs like the one the Tigers are on.
2016 sectional
2017 state
2018 semi state
2019 state
2021 regional
2022 sectional …. TBD
it is time to take a look at strengthening ERMHS schedule. on a year by year basis, take a look at the top 2-3 teams at the SIAC and leave them on the schedule. take the rest of your schedule and get tough teams from out of town. this would be good for indiana football and raise the profile of the siac.

i think that we can all agree on the fact the boonville is lucky to move on against the all star team

im really not trying to come at you…but I don’t want to be told to stop commenting for talking about how things have played out ya know?
i just find it really interesting that the last 2 years the “best” SIAC team might have not been the actual best when it comes to winning in the postseason. If I have learned anything these last 6/7 years…it’s that memorial is a different animal in the playoffs and the regular season doesn’t mean too much
totally agree. those who dont are not paying attention.
there is the regular season and there is the real season. look at the scorebored
