They don't seem to have any voices on the GID, but by far the most interesting game of Round 1 will be Boonville at Harrison. Harrison has some speed and a much improved OL/DL. They sure shocked the SIAC in Wk 2 with the upset of Jasper, but Jasper was missing a lot. The Thomas kid at TE could be a big weapon, but they didn't hardly use him against us, which was a surprise. Harrison will certainly go into the game with some mojo as they should be able to get a fairly easy win over Bosse this week. I would not surprise me at all if Harrison can pull the upset in Round 1. Jasper and Memorial will both be rooting for the Warriors.

i'll be the first hand up

True. These kids are ready to win now though.

I can definitely see why memorial was missing their starters early on. Rode is a haul to bring down and he really got the Tigers going in the 2nd half after a relatively quiet offensive first half

And that will eventually be Reitz's downfall, but congrats to them on the City and SIAC titles.  No question the Panthers are a much better team with Vera at QB. He is a very versatile athlete.

as a result, do you look for any action to be taken?

That was a great game by Jasper.  I just don’t think Jasper will have much for Memorial if they meet again. Tigers would be 6-0 with 6 convincing Wins if healthy all season.  I get injury’s are part of it but rarely do teams start the season with 4 or 5 all SIAC kids out weeks 1 and 2.

no doubt.  folks dont like to talk about it but its true

I’m not much into explaining away losing performances.  An L is an L.  But those who are would probably say that MHS was missing key starters (Shea and Agler, plus Brody to early injury) against Jasper and that the Castle loss had a lot to do with weather-related TOs…a couple of which resulted in very favorable field position for the Knights.

But, then, bad weather affects both teams.

agreed.  week one was a throw-away.  the game against castle had fans on both sides of the field scratching their heads.
