  1. 2A South Needs to be redone! It has been stated on the GID in a previous topic that 2A south should be a done deal. That post did not take into account how bad the IHSAA is at Geography.

Here is how the 2A South should be aligned:

37- Cascade, Christel House, Greencastle, Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter, Indianapolis Scecina Memorial, North Putnam, South Vermillion & Southmont

38- Eastern Hancock, Heritage Christian, Lapel, Northeastern, Shenandoah, Triton Central, Union County & Winchester

39- Brown County, Brownstown Central, Clarksville, Crawford County, Eastern {Pekin}, Mitchell, Paoli & Switzerland County

40- Evansville Mater Dei, Forest Park, Linton-Stockton, North Knox, North Posey, Perry Central, Sullivan & Tell City

  4. 6A should be 16 teams. For the next cycle it would be the 15 biggest schools plus Center Grove.

Class 6A Carmel 5414 Ben Davis 4617 North Central 3754 Warren Central 3690 Fishers 3689 Penn 3430 Hamilton Southeastern 3399 Pike 3392 Lake Central 3271 Elkhart 3235 Avon 3194 Noblesville 3091 Franklin Central 3049 Crown Point 2925 Brownsburg 2876 Center Grove 2624 UP due to success factor.

Move the bottom 16 schools down to 5A.

Also awaiting on some official word on Crawford County. At one point they had talked about going independent for football and coming back later but PLAC said no. As of about a week ago a newspaper article said they were going to stay. However according to Harrells WW, Mitchell and maybe other appeared to have dropped them. WW has Clarksville week 2 and CC listed against Eastern.

I believe WW and CC will play Week 8. The other game just have not been added to Harrell's site. Either the Coach or the AD has to email Mr. Harrell to update the schedule.

I agree to an extent and as stated have no dog in the fight. But as you stated what does playing Clarksville (recently dropped for Floyd Central) pekin, Scottsburg do for SC in post season? If you can compete with these schools in every other sport why not take your lumps in football and be better prepared for tourny play? I agree they arent ready for CE to come down here or maybe even NA. The area itself seems to be rapidly growing. Even Charlestown is like 75 students off 4A. To me I look at it as if im SC. If you continue to grow and gain more and more kids I feel youll outgrow the MSC. Next year if Clarksville doesn't go independent the conference will probably have 1A-4A schools. It just feels they are outgrowing them is all and im not sure where else they would go. Again....10 years from now

Clarksville will be independent starting Fall 2021.

This is an interesting approach to using seeding to make some regular season games more meaningful. But I’m not sure why the half-measure, if you’re convinced more meaningful regular season games is a good thing. You’ve basically shortened the exhibition season from 9 games to 6-8, depending on your class.

To one of your points, the purpose of the playoffs is to generate revenue. If we make every sectional team play each other during the regular season the money you loose in travel and lack of attendance will not be regained in the playoffs. Just look at the distance teams would have to travel to play every school in sectional. In the system I posted the 4 team Pods will be made with geography in mind.

  8. 6 Class System. 16 Teams in 6A, 48 teams in 5A, 64 in each of 4A down to 1A.

1A through 4A will have 8 sectionals with 8 teams. Each sectional will have 2, 4 team pods based on geography. You will play your pod the last 3 games of the 9 game regular season. This allows 6 regular season games to be scheduled. Seeding will be done based those pod games. Example: Pod A, 1st place team will play Pod B 4th place team in round one. A3 will play B2. A2 will play B3. A4 will play B1. Round 2 will be Winner of (A1 vs. B4) plays winner of (A3 vs. B2). Winner of (A2 vs. B3) plays winner of (A4 vs. B1).

In the 5A there will be 48 Teams split into 8 sectionals with 3 team pods made in those sectionals. 1st place team in the pod gets the first round bye. A2 will play B3 (B1 plays winner of this game) and B2 plays A3 (A1 plays the winner of this game). 5A will have 10 regular season games with pod games in weeks 9 and 10.

6A will be 15 of the biggest Indy Area Schools plus Cathedral. There will be 2 sectionals broken into 4, 4 team pods. They will have an 11 game regular season with weeks 9,10, and 11 being pod games.

    Other notes.

Reginal and Semi State games will be played at neutral sites. 6A will not have a reginal. Only sectional final and Semi State.

All P/P's will play up one class from enrollment.

It will still be based on North and South. You could have some fun with how to mix and match the pods in 6A.

    2 year classification cycle.

Success factor for back to back Semi-state champions in the 2 year cycle.

It is an all in system, but you will play teams in your pod to seed your sectional.

Still can allow for conferences to exist.

  11. It has taken many times thinking about posting this. My dad was my coach for many years. He was always harder on me than anyone else. He knew what the perception was of a dad coaching a son. It wasn't easy but it was worth it. Some of the old timers on here might remember him as HuskyWarrior. He passed away about a month ago and as I am preparing for our first round game this week I could not help but think of him. Those from Nobelsville, Warren Central, and Hamilton Heights might remember best. But if you ever went to a Bishop Dullaghan camp from 2000-2010 there is a good chance you met him coaching there.  https://www.newsandtribune.com/sports/high-school-football-a-coach-called-dad/article_db7b826c-fed8-11ea-a4bc-af1810763fe0.html

Also, I would like to thank the coaching community who reached out to me the week of his passing.
