Looks like Clay may interview a dozen or more for the job...so it seems it won’t be that hard to fill

Not sure the number of applicants will equal quality candidates.  They'll get it "filled", but will it be a good hire that MIGHT have the opportunity to at least change the culture, skills, ability, etc.  Obviously the fine arts magnet being at Clay hinders the football program, but no one wants to talk about that!

  2. Redistricting South Bend will only be a possibility if the district takes into consideration desegregation laws.

"It wasn’t until 1981, when the federal government filed a lawsuit against South Bend Community School Corp., that a desegregation plan was enacted. The policy relied on dividing the district into pie pieces and busing students." - (From the South Bend Tribune Archives)

Busing students all across town will ALWAYS take place in South Bend as long as they intend on not breaking the federal desegregation law (in other words being in compliance with the law).

Easy there champ, I just said if I was Jimtown I would see if he was interested. I agree on your points but maybe KK wants to see his old school return to glory.

Fair enough...the calling to "go home" could be there, but I can only imagine what Jimtown would have to offer in terms of support, salary, staff, etc. for him to consider it.

  4. Why would Keith Kinder leave a 2 time sectional championship team/school with great facilities, awesome support, large fan-base, full time strength & conditioning coach on staff, etc. to go back to Jimtown which has numbers dwindling and community apathy for the sport?  Baugo has CHANGED since the glory days and the one's there KNOW it, but the one's still living in the past can't accept it.

Great question, answer is a resounding no. And this is before I heard about the injuries. We all know how the northern teams fare against the metro teams. Chatard is great up front, looking better every week. Great skill position players as well and have stayed healthy all season (maybe because nearly every game had been a running clock.) This is the best Chatard team I have ever seen and this game might remind me of the drubbing Chatard used to lay on SB St Joes in LOS and the RCA dome. I’ve said my prayers for Marian and hope the rest of the boys can stay healthy. To you Chatard fans, can’t wait for you all to get back and play in Indy! Seems like a while since I’ve been able to watch some Catholic school ball. See you at LOS

Drubbing of St. Joe?  They beat St. Joe 28-14 and 21-7 in 2010 & 2011.  AND, in the 2010 game, Chatard was up 14-7 and St. Joe was driving only to have the ball snapped over the QB's head for a scoop and score...a 14 point swing.

There most certainly was, and I was the Referee on that game. Valpo had a big lead and appeared in control. Mishawaka mounted a furious comeback on the strength, of all things, of their passing game. Al Smith was the coach at Mishawaka, and his attitude toward the forward pass was somewhere to the right of Woody Hayes. 😅 Outside the hashes the field was OK, but between the hashes was solid ice. The big play that won it for the Cavemen was a long punt return TD where the returner literally skated right down the middle of the field.

Perhaps @maroonman can confirm my recollection, if he’s lurking out there somewhere.

I was the quarterback on that team...and YES, we RARELY threw the ball, but it was our ONLY option as our running game was stuffed in the 1st half.  Besides winning such a thrilling game, the second best memory of that game was after.  The SB Tribune and The NW Indiana Times asked Coach Smith and myself to stick around in our "makeshift locker room" by the football field (it was a garage).  We were both interviewed about the game and walked out of the garage expecting the school bus to be there so we could hitch a ride back to Valpo High School to change/warm up for our trip home.  When we walked out we realized the bus had already went back to the school and Coach Smith and I RAN back to the high school because it was so cold.  It was the ONLY time I ever saw Coach Smith run.

Side Note:  Coach Smith was and is one of the all-time greatest men to ever coach in Indiana!

Yes , and every Coach I know has integrity . They wouldn't get on a public forum and say a Team A is going to BURY team B .

Yes you've coached your kids in Tiddly Winks?  And just an FYI, definition of integrity is below...it has nothing to do with saying an opinion on a public forum that I believe to be honest and true.  I'm done with you...that is all!

    noun

    1. 1.
the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Wrong , St joe scored 1 TD in the 4th quarter , get your facts straight .

C'mon man...I WAS at the game...it was running clock...it was a COMPLETE and TOTAL butt whooping..one of the TD's happened at the end of the 3rd. When starters were on the field for both teams it was 42-7!

But besides that...NP BURIES Plymouth on Friday...call Vegas now and book it!

Plymouth beat St Joe by 16

Mishawaka beat St Joe by 21

    I don't see a big difference here .

Mishawaka beat St. Joe by 35 (St. Joe scored 2 TD's in the last 4 minutes vs. the Mish frosh). St. Joe was BAD this year.

New Prairie beat your beloved Kingsmen (who aren't up to par this year).

New Prairie is THAT MUCH better than Plymouth.  PERIOD!

  10. Portage at Penn, 7:30 pm
    Concord at Central, 7 pm
    Memorial at Mishawaka, 7 pm
Culver Academy at New Prairie, 7 pm
St. Joseph at Plymouth, 7 pm
Jimtown at Tippecanoe Valley, 7 pm
Marian at West Noble, 7 pm

    Bremen at LaVille, 7 pm

Penn at home (Portage is not good)

Central at home (probably the best game of the night)

Mishawaka buries Memorial (my guess Shaw's last game as a head coach after a GREAT career both as a player and coach)

    New Prairie rolls CMA

    Plymouth ends St. Joe's misery

Jimtown is too much for TV even at "Death Valley"

Marian wins but closer than anyone imagines

    Bremen/LaVille?  I'm taking the Lions...just a hunch.

  11. I was told he is trying to get as many as his assistants from his WHS days to join him at Adams.  Seems parents feel the assistants are not very good

Craig Redman was 28-27 and that wasn't good enough.

I struggle to believe that after 4 years and a 12-27 record that he can blame the assistants...but whatever.

    Friday, Oct. 25

    Central at Adams, 7 pm
New Prairie at Riley, 7:30 pm
Clay at Culver Academy, 7 pm
Logansport at St. Joseph, 7 pm
Tippecanoe Valley at Washington, 7 pm
    Garrett at Jimtown, 7:30 pm
    Lakeland at Marian, 7 pm
West Noble at Glenn, 7 pm

    Manchester at Bremen, 7 pm

Central destroys Adams (sending the Adams Administration looking for a new coach?)

New Prairie is supportive in helping Riley start their basketball season.

CMA BIG...Clay should be the school that the SBCSC closes after this year.

St. Joe...only because I know NOTHING about Logansport.

Washington in a surprise for many.  TV won't be used to the speed.

Jimtown in a close one. Garret always plays Jimtown TOUGH.

Marian ends Lakeland's season rather easily.

    West Noble easily over Glenn

    Bremen at home?
