  1. Alexandria vs. Bluffton - Turf team visiting a wet, sloppy field should work to Alexandria's advantage.

Eastern vs. Elwood - Comets get to rest starters in the second half for the next 2 weeks. Draw of the century.

Madison Grant vs. Northfield - MG in a runaway

Frankton vs. Eastbrook - I like Frankton's chances. Which QB plays for them makes the difference.

Hamilton Heights vs. Oak Hill - HH Big in this one.

Tipton vs. Blackford - Growing up in Elwood nothing brings me joy like watching Tipton struggle. GO BRUINS!

Mississinewa vs. Western - The only team I like less than Tipton is Mississinewa. GO PANTHERS!!

  2. Oak Hill  vs  Elwood - Even in a down year OH wins this one. I don't know the HC at Elwood, but there are a couple long time assistant coaches there that deserve a shot at running the program and getting it turned around.

Mississinewa  vs  Eastbrook - HUUUUGGEE EB Panther fan tonight. Besides my loathing for 'Ole Miss, my Tigers need a hand to secure a co-championship.

Frankton  vs  Blackford - I think this one could be close. QB play will decide if Frankton can win this one.

Madison-Grant  vs  Alexandria - Not worried about Bluffton just yet, just take care of business tonight. Tigers by 14

  3. Oak Hill vs Blackford - I give Blackford a small chance, very small, but I think OH wins this one.

Madison Grant vs Eastbrook - It's homecoming at Eastbrook and they are tough, even in "down" years. I'll take MG in a very close one.

    Elwood vs Mississinewa - Well.....

Alexandria vs Frankton - Close at first but the Tigers should pull away at the end of this one.

BTW, where are the Eastbook guys this season telling us all how EB needs to move conferences? CIC is too soft and all of that good chatter?

  4. Mississinewa  vs Blackford: I was a little surprised at Ole Miss numbers last weekend. Do they bring freshmen to varsity games? If so, numbers seem way down for a 4A school. A lot of kids going both ways as well.

Frankton  vs  Madison-Grant: I'm still not a Frankton believer.

Oak Hill  vs  Alexandria: Tigers should get back on track. I hope they keep in mind that OH got 'em 55-7 last year.

Eastbrook vs Elwood: Panthers are going to win! Get it...

  5. Eastbrook at Blackford - This one is over before it starts.

Elwood at Madison-Grant - MG too much for the Panthers to start a streak

Mississinewa at Alexandria - Gotta go with the Tigers. The early scheduled helped to stay fresh going into this tough stretch. DB's will have their hands full.

Oak Hill at Frankton - Almost a pick'em in my book. Eagles win a tight one on Homecoming though.

  6. Blackford  vs  Elwood...gotta pick the ole Panthers sometime. Prime example of "be careful who you vote for" when it comes to local school boards. The problems at Elwood are directly contributable to voting for friends that had Z E R O clue what they were doing.

Mississinewa  vs  Frankton...Too big, too fast

    Madison-Grant  vs  Oak Hill...See above

Alexandria  vs  Eastbrook.. The Tiger defense is better than they are given credit for.

Wow... I did not see they were that big. Do they go both ways? Mississinewa was able to platoon against Frankton

The 4 D-Linemen do not play both ways, defense only. All the linemen had a tremendous summer to build depth and not have to play both ways.

ANYONE know of a rumor that Marty Wells is helping Frankton. I heard he is teaching at frankton now and that they might be looking to him either helping or taking over soon. Just somthing I have heard

He is working at Frankton as a part of the Alternative program and helping with a younger age group, has a son playing, but has too much integrity to be trying to take over a program. Frankton has a coach. If that coach reaches out, I'm sure he would help though.

but they all know the system and have the mindset to put the team ahead of the individual.  That’s a big factor in their success!

That's the key. Not being a "winning" middle school program means little when they get to high school and know the exact system, terminology, play calls, blocking assignments.

While other programs are teaching freshmen all of the above, Eastbrook is getting them stronger and fine tuning.

    The blueprint is there.

this now gives the CIC teams in 4 classes for football (1A-4A)

If you pull up the enrollment #'s from IHSAA, Mississenwa is a transfer or 2 away from being back in 3A, they are the bottom team in 4A. Talking with some admin at Alex, the numbers are way up and are creeping closer to 3A.

  11. Alexandria @ Elwood   Even with a backup QB Alex is too much

    Frankton @ Eastbrook    Eastbook big

Madison Grant @ Blackford   I'm giving this one a toss up. They run the same offense so they should know how to slow one another down.

Oak Hill @ Mississinewa   Completely un-impressed with Ole Miss this season.

Is the CIC as a whole competitive in other sports?

Multiple state championships and state finalists teams in the past decade. Football is down right now no doubt, but still a good conference.

  12. Eastbrook @ Oak Hill       No brainer really

Blackford @ Alexandria            Tigers have been missing multiple starters, they should all be back this week. Alex by 14

Elwood @ Frankton                  I have hope that my Alma Mater can get things going this week. The group of Juniors have been playing since day 1 as freshman, it's their week

Mississinewa @ Madison Grant   MG is scrappy, but Ole Miss has too many kids to run in fresh legs and wear them down.
