  1. If Carmel isn't going to do anything to discipline their boys' basketball coach, then the IHSAA needs to step in!!  This sets a very bad precedent for allowing coaches to start physical confrontations with fans!!  Their coach purposeful initiates physical contact with high school students, then cries foul when getting shoved.  How can the Carmel admin stand by and do nothing???  What a terrible example of character and sportsmanship.  How can the IHSAA stand by and do nothing???  Watch the video people!!

Very dissapointed.  If that happened at a Tech vs Cathedral game... there would be a huge amount of outrage.  Carmel just gets a freebie????

I’d agree with everything you said, except do we actually know that this is the reason Carmel is dropping CG?  I would say no.

In my personal opinion, it says more about Center Grove that all MIC schools and now Carmel have alienated them.

I agree.  Something is a-miss, and unjustfully so.  CG community schools is as classy as they come!!  Just doesn't make sense.  I don't think it can be shouted loud enough though... that a student in the video was suspended from school as CG took responsibility for their part in the rushing of the court, but nothing.... I repeat nothing has been done to the moronically unstable coach leading the Carmel boys hoops team.  Amazing!  Carmel was hoping this video would never come out I guess.

Regardless of the story, don’t you think this is all way over done? I mean at some point think about how ridiculous this all is. Over high school sports. Kids make mistakes, adults make mistakes. Does that mean every personal associated with that school or community is that particular way? This is idiotic.

I used to love the MIC and travel to many games each season. I am saddened by the events from the past couple years to the dismantling of it. I cannot believe the biggest and best football schools in Indy are choosing to stray away from one particular school. This is a disaster for indianapolis football and it is dangerous for the IHSAA. I really hope things can get solved in the near future. Very sad days for Indy metro football right now.

Well Said.  Also, if you haven't seen the video from the incident.... the Carmel coach is a complete idiot.  Totally instigated the entire thing.  He pouts cause his team loses and starts stuff with a bunch of high school kids supporting their community and celebrating the win.  This was all his fault.  How did he not get suspended!!!!

I love this for Indiana football. I think this is a great opportunity win or lose (they will do better than BS did). I talked with Coach Simmons about this briefly yesterday and basically it was an opporunity he felt they couldn't pass up. You want to be the best measure yourself against one of the best. I believe it will probably be the national team, at least I hope it will be. I am looking forward to this game for sure!

Wow! I guess they really got tired of losing to that team from the south side!  At first thought, you'd think... wow, hate to lose that CG/BD rivalry game.... but it has been so one-sided recently not much of a rivalry anymore.  Embarassing for them I guess. Good luck vs. the Academy from the deep south though.  Better optics losing to them.

Great news is that it opens up another possibility for CG/Roncalli reunion in the future!!

He was literally better against the same talent. Roncalli’s schedule was also actually harder than CG’s when Trinity, Male, and Elder are added in. Just saying.

No way. This is a ridiculous take. Stop.

Ask some officials how different a game is between Brownsburg vs BD... and a Roncalli vs. EC game.  They'll tell you straight up. Roncalli was awesome this year... but just stop with this ridiculousness.

Eric Moore didn’t even see Coyle as the best running back on his own ROSTER in August…

For all of the talk on Roncalli’s dominant line, it seems CG benefitted from their dominant line much more.

Bowen DIDN’T win the championship and is going to run away with the award now…despite not even being the position winner at his most dominant position on the field.

The whole thing is a joke.

Can’t punish Roncalli for their sectional lineup.

Also, Southport and North Central (who CG did play) are on equal footing.

NC would have running clocked Southport. So would have Pike. You obviously have no idea.

  6. Hi everyone! As a southsider i Love both these programs and Whiteland also for that matter, whom had a heck of a RB this year as well. Great seasons for all. The level of competition between the 3 classes and programs represented was just too different. 4a this year was better than 5a, that was a given, but CGs 6a route was way way more difficult. CGs oline was probably under-rated, but 6a was strong enough this year that the mighty HCC didn't even get a team to Thanksgiving weekend. CG and Coyle deserve this. Sorry Rebel fans. Luke had a great season. Southside Rules!

  7. I'm tired of the Roncalli, CGs, and Carmels of the world getting thrown under the bus like this when it comes to diversity.  These schools represent a diverse pool of student athletes... that is all they are guilty of.  The jealous always lash out when they think they have a narrative that will trash these communities. We on the gridiron should try and put a stop to it.  Enough is Enough!

  8. This move makes total sense for Carmel and CG!  Period.  Has nothing to do with "culture" aka... race.  It's obvious to see what some of the haters are trying to say here.  Simply not true.  Facts are facts.  Carmel and CG have had numerous events canceled with MIC JV and Frosh teams in various sports.  Whomever threw out those "culturally align" words are afraid of reality... which is their own Athletic departments are simply not as diverse as Carmel and CG's.  Those two needed to branch out for their students.  Period!

I liked you better when you were in your post-Roncalli collapse hole.

Allen no doubt had great players around him…including the most criminally under recruited/ underrated WR I have ever seen in Rory Heltsley.  It’s honestly to the point that I’m mad about it for him.

The GS fan base will probably be more excited if he gets a new D1 offer or something than if Brady were to win Mr. Football.

3 Mr football nominees in 2 years on this Center Grove team………come on man.  CG was the favorite to win this whole time too…..winning back to back championships is what was expected when you have 10 or so D1 players on the roster over 2 years.

FAKE NEWS!!  This has to stop, I hear this crap all the time about various schools.  So I had to confirm it.  The falsity in "10 or so...".  WRONG.

    CG 2020 D1 Scholarship players =3 (1 power 5) (Booker, JackSchott, Steele)

CG 2021 D1 Scholarship players =  5 (3 power 5) (Jackson, JamesSchott, Curry, Carroll (played 4 games), Bennett (FCS))

This is equivalent to most top tier MIC and HCC and Catholic programs in most years.  So all those schools should be "expected" to win championships ever year!!!  No way, cause they are competing against eachother.

Curry = Best Player = Mr. Football

  10. Caden Curry is the Best Football player in Indiana on the Best Team in Indiana.... therefore should be a no brainer for Mr. Football.  While The Purdue commit is a fantastic talent, 3A... ain't 6A, therefore credit should be given where credit is due. I'd say Max Webster and Tayven Jackson are above him on the list for this Mr. Football award.  Leading his team to a 3A championship once, isn't the same as Tayven and Max leading their teams in the highest class BACK to BACK years.  That is legit!!  Congrats to Brady and good luck at Purdue!!  But Sorry, no case for Mr. Football. #TRUTH

  11. Cathedral has already had a chance in 6A... didn't even make it to Lucas Oil.  I think the top HCC and MIC schools will always have 1 or 2 teams each year that can beat the Irish.  I think Cathedral belongs in 6A obviously and will at least have a shot every year.  The HCC and MIC schools will continue to take turns as they develop 1 or 2 classes that build into champions, just like Westfield did.  They'll reload, but it will take time to return to Lucas Oil.  That is why what CG did the last 3 years was so out of the norm.  It will take Roncalli time to develop to get back as well.  It is hard to repeat at any level.  Besides Cathedral playing in 6A, that is why the success factor isn't the perfect answer.

Also, btw.... only 1 move in from Brownsburg had D1 offers, and he didn't play the 2nd half of the season.  The other kid only has walk-on offers.  Just Sayin!  The Trojans D only had 3 kids with actual D1 offers, the record needs to be set straight on that.  The 2 that played in the state championship are CG kids.

I think that Roncalli should get the Trojans on the schedule asap, before they rebuild.  Just like New Pal did, man that was a smart move by Ralph.

LIKE:  You are forgetting that our red-neck south side second cousins are running through 4A. Someone needs to make sure the Rebels/Royals don't get any more state titles than they deserve. But, generally, I agree with you.

I love how comments like this one... attacking Roncalli are allowed, but the whiney Irish followers ban anything that hurts their wittle feelings.  #typical

  13. Ya... and how many "Situational" kids from the other teams stayed home and watched film instead of playing the JV snaps.  I'm sure CG had some boys not dressing JV that could have made a huge difference in the outcome. LOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You either follow the rules or you don't. #LetALLtheKidsPlay then!!  Integrity is really important.
