Ok that is what I was curious about? About usually how many schools go up and down per year?

Keep in mind in this scenario, I moved up due to #'s to 4A but already competed in 4A due to success factor. Do I stay in 4A or move up to 5A to compete?

Good question there. Now is there an actual relegation in the IHSAA? Say a 3A school is completely outclassed at 3A but competes well against 2A schools. Does it get to move down or is it stuck at 3A?

So if I'm a 3A school (enrollment) and earn 6 points, I move to 4A. Then if I earn another 6pts I got to 5A; Get 4-5pts stay 4A; earn less than 4 drop down to 3A. Correct? What happens if I move from 4A to 3A enrollment and still earned the 6pts from playing 4A, do I stay in 4A or move to 5A? I have a lot of questions. Sorry

Greetings, I am from South Carolina and looking for clarification on how the systems work for your state. I am doing research on a proposal and have been attempting to contact leagues directly but they are slow to respond. For my state, we are divided into 5 classes, each with 2 divisions (Upper and Lower State), and there are 8 "regions" in each class. That is as far as our breakdown goes. If a team were to win "Region" they would be a top seed when entering into the playoffs of the upper or lower state bracket. From there they compete make it to Lower or Upper State finals (State Semis) and then reach the Final. I have read for your state, they classify a "Sectional Champion", "Regional Champion", "Semi-State Champ" which I would assume is the equivalent to Lower/Upper for us, and then a "State Champion" which is the same for us. Where I get lost is the Sectional and Regional. Maybe we do not break our divisions down that far but I wanted to ask. Sorry for the long post, just wanted clarity because the proposal I am working on needs fine details and other states are being used as references.
