With the official start of the season upon us, let’s stir up some questions:

    - Will Reitz end up being an dark horse contender in the SIAC or a pretender?

    - Who ends up being the one to lead the Huskies under center? As the QB battle continues on US41

    - With 17 starters returning, will the Alices see improvement?

    - Will Jasper continue their SIAC dominance? Week 1 will be wild at Jerry Brewer Stadium

    - Can Bosse grab 3-4 wins this season? I think so

    - Does Mater Dei make a return to state? That Regional is looking tough with either Brownstown Central/Scecina and Linton being potential competitors

    - The Tilly Era maybe be over in Paradise. But can the Knights overcome the odds to stun the doubters?

    - With both QBs gone, and a long-gloomy season awaits, can the Bears find some light this season?

    - Questions still loom of the Rodes transfer. While the Tigers have high expectations, however, could we see a small setback on the defensive end?

    - Harrison is sure glad to have 6’6 TE Thomas, but many questions remain on who will throw to him.

Answer your questions rietz will be dark horse to contend for siac, with 17 starters vin Lincoln should improve but is there talent on that team besides Keller,I don't think jasper will win conference this year maybe 4 or 5 best.i believe bosse can win 3 to 4 wins at least bosse best talent is in middle school right now.Yes mater dei can return to state if win siac or top 3 they should get state.I think castle should finish 3 to 5 in siac. The bears will have a long season might be worst in siac this year.memorial should be be elite this year and if they can get out of sectional they have shot but the 4a south is loaded.brooks Thomas brother Levi might start for them 6'1 or 6'2 remember the name not qb soph wr tizhaun Tomlinson 6'1 .

You have to dm coaches cuz they get dms from recruits all the time.the younger you start and more schools you contact if they like your film and you send your film to tons of schools you have a chance . There's others things that play into to but that's just to get on radar.coaches don't care where you from you as a athlete have to be pro active.i check NCAA sports videos all the time and check out recruits who gotten offers so I know what I'm talking about.you have to dm a lot of schools not just 10 to 25 I'm saying like 100 at least with your film.

It helps if you start young to like NCAA sports.org you can start age 13 so coaches aren't going to know you are unless they have a relationship with coach already.but yea recruits gotta start younger to dm coaches to possibly get a chance at a offer down the road.

Grades and attitude play apart of it to.some of these athletes have talent but may not have grades to play div 1.i try get info out on my Twitter so if there coaches don't provide info then I want to.

I think you have a drastic misunderstanding of the current NCAA football recruiting landscape. If a kid is having to DM D1 coaches with his highlight tape, chances are he will not be playing D1 football. ZERO D1 coaches are scrolling through the hundreds of Twitter DMs they get, looking for some “diamond in the rough”. If the coach doesn’t know your name before you send the DM, odds are he won’t after. In regards to recruiting sites, @oldtimeqb hit the nail on the head. These recruiting sites are to HSFB, what the travel and prospect teams have been to HS baseball for a while (MONEY TALKS). The overwhelming majority of the “recruiters” on these sites have zero to an absolute minimal level of experience within college football, no coach at any level is looking at any of these rankings. NCAA programs, especially D1 programs, have a plethora of recruiters assigned to every corner of the country that meet with HSFB players and coaches daily. Any NCAA FB coach will trust the guys on their staff a million times over before ever looking at some recruiting site. The days of simply playing for your HSFB during the fall, and expecting big time college offers are long gone, as much as it sucks. It is a year round commitment of going to camps, showcases, and (in regards to skill position players) the national 7-on-7 tournaments.

The kids you listed are all really good ball players that will have great HSFB careers, but realistically, 2-3 will actually get D1 offers (FCS/FBS). Geography doesn’t help much as Southern Indiana football, despite the awesome atmosphere on Friday nights, isn’t a hot bed for D1 talent. Realistically, most of the kids you listed will get D2, D3, or NAIA offers and have the opportunity to receive a good education, while continuing to play football.

You have to dm coaches cuz they get dms from recruits all the time.the younger you start and more schools you contact if they like your film and you send your film to tons of schools you have a chance . I don’t doubt he can but it’s not a good sign if you’re a senior to be with no offers on the table.  Not doubting the kid but that’s reality.

Remember Kurt wilderman that played at ind st and he went to mater dei and he was under 6'2 so if he can play at fcs level than I know mason Wunderlich can plus he's at mater dei and at 6'5 if he improves someone will take a chance on him.

  6. 2 hours ago, Screagle said:

Not saying he can’t play at that level but most D1 FCS or FBS seniors to be already have offers on the table.

Gotta remember athletes haven't sign yet  so season hasn't started yet so he still has time.if he has a great season he should get some offers.

Of the players on that list, there’s about 3, maybe 4 that I would say are going to be difference makers at the next level. None of those kids are going to Purdue. Indiana just had its best recruiting class in program history coming off a 2-10 season. I’ll take a 3* kid out of South Florida who plays legit competition 9-10 games a year over a 3* from North Central (for the sake of being from Indianapolis) any day of the week.

Purdue’s top 5 verbals are all either from the South or the Louisville area where Brohm has deep connections. Allen has a connection to South Florida, especially in and around Tampa, where he has coaching roots. Some of IU’s best players the last few years have all been from Tampa…Penix, Whop Phylior, McFadden, Mullen

Coach Allen next year needs to get back to Indiana kids . If you can't win your state it's hard to compete.you can still get Florida kids but you should have more in state kids.

Wunderlich is going into his senior year.  I know he went to Wisconsin to visit last season, but I haven't heard anything about it since.  I'm not sure how much interest there really is.  FWIW, I don't see him as a Big 10 QB.  I don't think he's athletic enough to play at that level.  He does have a good, strong arm.  He's certainly not at the level Brady Allen was heading into his senior year.

He may not be on the Brady Allen level but he's at least fcs. as long as you can move in pocket  you don't have to be super athletic just be accurate.

Indiana Prep Zone is not where coaches look for kids. They don’t look at any recruiting services either. They want kids at their camps and they want to see kids compete in different sports.  Highlight film works to get their attention but very few use highlights as an important recruiting tool. You want looks, go to that teams camp and go early and often.

You mentioned the Wunderlick kid was being recruiting by Wisconsin. Is he going into his senior year? Does he have an offer on the table from any level?  All players going into senior year without an offer have a really good chance of never getting an offer or a very late small school offer.

Yes they obviously want them at their camps to see recruit in person but yea kids do have to dm coaches with their film to.i know there other things to like grades, act, attitude, what your trying to study, and stuff.

Yeahhhh but we usually don’t mention player names explicitly unless it’s talking about a crazy game/season they are having.

its kinda just that these are 14-18 year old kids mostly.  Better to just use their number when talking about them for the most part.

i don’t have any kids on any of these teams but some of the people on here do and they may not want you talking about their kid even if you have good intentions.  Just best to use caution when using their full names

This is weird so will you say something to ESPN when they  have signing day  on tv, what about when a recruit announces what school he's going to on tv are you going to say something about that.what about these recruit services ranking kids are you going to say something about that to. What about people who do middle school rankings are you going to do something about that to. Your taking it  to far.

94th ranked kid just committed to Iowa. Can’t give this list any credit.

That young man  may not had any offers when they released there list idk.all it takes is 1 offer then next thing you know you can blow up.indiana prep zone doesn't update rankings every week or bi weekly.recruits gotta send their highlights film to them to be evaluated unless someone tells Indiana prep zone about a specific athlete.

  12. 1 hour ago, DumfriesYMCA said:

Um….not to be rude….but why are you compiling a list of peoples kids? And why are you asking for more names to just be openly dropped?

This is a forum for high school football so I try to keep up with top players in the pac and siac specifically.i asked for more names as for recruits who could potentially go somewhere.

What I remember about that game was it was on a Saturday. The previous week, Notre Dame had beaten #1 Florida State and moved into the #1 position in the polls. Our crew drove down to the game together, and I made them turn off the radio which was carrying the ND - Boston College game so we could concentrate on our pregame conference and be as ready as we could be for the game. Drove all the way, got dressed, went through our last minute stuff, and then walked out to the field with no idea what had happened in South Bend. I introduced myself to the chain crew and the first words out of the box man’s mouth were “Can you believe Notre Dame got beat by Boston College on a last minute field goal?” Just what I needed to hear going into a big game.

I wish I could connect with Zane  I think he does something with otters. I remember a couple of years ago he was on wtvw in a interview talking about his iu collection. Speaking of DVDs if anyone interested in some college games let me know.

    Agree....these all have serious limitations.

Those are my opinions on kids that have div 1 fcs potential.all of them ranked by Indiana preps zone except Donovan Baker and hess.

But also grades play a factor to and your attitude cuz coaches look at that. But like I said there's over 250 fbs and fcs schools combined so to me if you have that talent and measurables and persistent at dm coaches  you should have a chance to get a div 1 offer.

  17. 2 hours ago, Screagle said:

Do any of the 2023 kids listed have an offer besides Hartig?  Collins has Valpo but it’s a non athletic scholarship school.
Not to be argumentative but are these kids all being legitimately recruited or is this based on opinion looking at their skill set and or size?
The Brasher kid tried to transfer/enroll at Memorial and was told he wouldn’t even receive limited participation if he left.
