The Judson / Pioneer game should be a good one, but it really doesn't matter who wins it.  Next week is when it matters.  I found it interesting that the frosh QB started last Friday rather than Hill.  Is he the QB going forward?  Or should we expect Rans back this week?

The Triton / Winamac game will be much closer than some might expect.  Winamac is a different team these last few games.  I would guess maybe a 2 score game, especially with rainy weather on Friday night.  Shively is much more effective when the playing conditions are favorable.

The freshman at QB (Shiloh Rhine) gave Pioneer more options in the run game. Hill at wing helps Pioneer stretch the defense out more than with him at QB in my opinion.

  2. Culver at LaVille- Laville big here. nothing else to say. 51-0

Knox at Caston- Knox big as well. 62-8

North Judson at Pioneer- This one will really be a doozy. It's tough to pinpoint this. If Pioneer comes out firing it think it'll be tough. Pioneer missed their FB and last week it showed just how good he is. Judson has size.

Triton at Winamac- Triton big here as well. 42-0

Sounds like the best game will be played in Royal Center this week. Can't wait for it!

I'm just curious on why you think they'll score more than what North Judson and West Centrals offense did against Winamac.

Can Caston absolutely win this game? Yes, Winamac doesn't have the talent to overlook anyone but this team the way they are now are much better than what they were week 1. Tucker Fox and Tearson Wolford have really reinforced winamacs defense at the LB positions and Garner and Keller have been pretty solid on the defensive line and Cash Roth being at QB has opened up the run game for Jones and Bucinski.

Caston is much better than years past and will start getting good here soon. I imagine it's a pretty exciting time to follow football and boys basketball over there.

Not that they can necessarily score more than them. Just think Caston can stop Winamac from scoring more than Winamac can stop Caston. Now I could be wrong and they could prove it. But I think Caston's back will cause too many problems. Caston held North White QB to only 103 yards when he's averaging 225 yards a game. Not saying their Offense is show-stopping but their defense is what will be the difference.

I think the biggest thing in this game is who wants it more. Caston's linebackers have been getting nothing but praise and are the focal points on both sides of the ball. Winamac has just been underwhelming. Have the Warriors done good stuff? Absolutely. But both teams have played the same schedule up to this point. If Winamac doesn't match the physicality of Caston, 100% Caston wins this game. Just my take on the situation.

This 100%. If Winamac can take care of their backers I think it’ll be close. But I think they will disrupt Winamac too much.

All of the odds are stacked against the Trojans this week and I think spoiling the Redskins hopes of being the lone conference champion is on the hearts and minds of everyone in Bourbon. Knox is riding high right now and their confidence is at an all-time high for the progrum and the same is true for Triton. I talked about resiliency in my prediction for the LV and NJSP game. I think the same is true for both teams in this game and how they handle things on the field. With rain in the forecast on Thursday and possibly Friday night, this could be the difference maker. I am going to go out on a lomb here and say the Trojans win this game because of the odds. Trojans 24 Knox 20

I think if it rains it will give more of an edge to Knox in my opinion.

  6. Caston @ Winamac: Caston got a win against a conference team while Winamac won against use to be undefeated West Central team. If this doesn't shows how strong our conference is I don't know what will. I think even though they both got some boost on confidence, I think Caston gets the win here and by a good margin. 21-6

Laville @ North Judson: After last week I think we saw some weakness out of NJ. Laville is a fast team as well and with another solid QB. I think Laville will take this one by 2 touchdowns. 28-14.

Pioneer @ Culver: Pioneer finally catches a break in the schedule after play 3 of their toughest 4 games. I think Pioneer takes this time to try some things out. Pioneer takes it 42-7

Triton @ Knox: Knox had a close game against NJ a week before Triton and NJ played and we all were shocked by the outcome of last week. Knox will beat you with hard-nosed football. Triton will kill you with everything else. I think it will be a shoot-out for sure. I could see this game being able to swing either way and it's hard to say who. I personally would like to see Triton take a share of the conference to make things interesting. It will come down to who has the ball last.

North Judson at Triton ©, 7:30 pm
Winamac at West Central, 7 pm

Culver at Caston: I think Caston finally gets a win and can build their confidence. Caston has a good physical YOUNG group. Culver 6 Caston 21

Knox at Pioneer: If Pioneer sits their QB and FB then Knox all the way. If Pioneer doesn't it'll be close and I think the winner wont be known until the 4th Either way With QB and FB Knox by 7. Without Knox by 21

Laville at Glenn: I think Laville comes out with vengeance here. It seemed they had multiple times to score but didn't. If they can capitalize against them It'll be hard to beat. Laville 28 Glenn 7

North Judson at Triton: After the Pioneer games it seems that if you can game plan to stop Plummer, you can win. With ANOTHER on of his weapons sounding to be out, North Judson just needs to lock in on him.  North Judson 34 Triton 7

Winamac at West Central: If Winamac comes out like they did against North Judson then it'll be hard to stop them. But what are the odds of that happening again? Winamac 13 West Central 14

South Central at North Judson, 8 pm
Triton at Pioneer ©, 7 pm

Caston at North White: I think North White is the favorite but I wouldn't be shocked to see Caston get their first win. I think It'll be close. Caston's Linebacker play will play a big roll. Caston 20 North White 14

Culver at Winamac: Culver and Winamac both are looking for their first wins. Winamc held north Judson to 21. Culver gave up 47. If the Winamac comes out last week comes out this week it's Winamac all the way. Culver 6 Winamac 14

Knox at LaVille: In my opinion, the game of the week is at LaVille. I think LaVille will pull it out. As stated previously by others, It's hard to go 80 yards every drive. but I think Knox will give them a run for their money here. Knox 24 Laville 28

South Central at North Judson: South Central has 1 win over a common opponent, being Culver. North Judson continues their tear and wins it at a decent rate after not scoring so much last week. South Central 8 North Judson 35

Triton at Pioneer: Pioneer Shocked some people in here last week with the win over Hammond. I think if healthy they continue to roll. The addition of the lineman last week seemed to be something that helped a lot. They were without their starting it seemed they managed without. Nonetheless I feel with him they will be another good Pioneer team now. Triton 14 Pioneer 28

Triton at Culver ©, 7 pm
Winamac at North Judson ©, 7:30 pm

Hammond at Pioneer: Hammond has had a decent track this year being 4-0 with even a win over an Illinois team. It depends on what Pioneer team cooming out. If they cant control the pass and managed to keep their fast QB in the pocket Hammond has it. If Pioneers defense can handle that Pioneer takes it. Hammond 21 Pioneer 28

Glenn at Knox: Glenn and Knox will be a close game. I think it'll come down to who wants it the most. I think Knox will take the win. Glenn 21 Knox 28

LaVille at Caston: Caston has some amazing Linebackers, but it takes more than just that to win games. I don't think they reach 50 here, LaVille by a decent margin. LaVille 42 Caston 6

Triton at Culver: Not close again. Triton will roll past Culver. Triton 42 Culver 7

Winamac at North Judson: Will Winamac score? Will Judson reach 50? Those are the real questions here. Winamac 6 Judson 49

In my humble opinion, this week will determine who wins the HNAC.  Big game in Knox!

Bremen at Triton: Both teams have met LaVille and have managed to coral them a little. Triton by 6 and Breman by 7. I think the difference going into this week was last week's games. One won 35-0 and the other 30-14 to a team that in my opinion should not have scored two touchdowns on Trition.  Bremen 23 Triton 14

Culver at West Central: Culver is 0-3, West Central is 3-0. No team sees a common opponent on the schedule yet. Culver has had a terrible time in the first half having played North Judson and Knox. West Central has play teams with a combined record of 2-7 overall. Culver playing teams with a combined 6-3 records. Culver is going to get on track here but it will likely be a close one. Culver 30 West Central 25

North Judson at Knox: This should be everyones game of the week and if not I want whatever you're having. Knox and Judson both are known for their size. Judson just had a hard-fought game against Culver Military Academy and it makes me wonder about health, as I saw before it's been an issue. I think this could come down to who can score the most 2-point conversations when they score. I think when it comes down to it Knox has the better skill guys that are healthy and take it in a close one.  North Judson 22 Knox 24

Pioneer at Caston: We now get to where I think some teams have an easier game. Pioneer is coming off a tough loss where I honestly think they had a shot until the 3rd when their Freshman Saftey picked the ball off then they fumbled the next play. Pioneer is looking for blood and sadly Caston is next. I don't think they start off as slow as they did against Winamac. Pioneer 35 Caston 6

Winamac at LaVille: comingLaVille coming off another win faces a team that has not won this year and has only produced 14 points this season through 3 games. LaVille wont allow a score while they manage to score on whatever play they want. Winamac 0 LaVille 56

Quick question on Pioneer. Saw their offensive and defensive line is very young, made up of a lot of sophomores and a junior or two if I'm correct. Do they have any good young skilled position guys tho? QB is a sophomore too I think, but from what I've seen the two work horses in the backfield are both seniors. Do they have some young guys that will be ready to go when those young lineman start to really dominate as seniors?

Pioneer has a couple of good kids coming up as well in the Jr High. The back field will have a lot of depth and the lineman in the Jr High are smart. No a lot of size RIGHT NOW but definitely make up for it in their knowledge. If no one’s moves away Pioneer will have a couple more young ones coming up to play and will make a difference. AND they have an 8th grader that kicked a 37 yard field goal and has made 40-45 yarders before coming up.
