This is still a weak argument and shows you don't know ball.

I know enough to know that you give your best player the ball! Unless you know the following week you play a team with a common opponent (St Edward) that will affect your playoff seeding..

Maybe you should watch both games before you spout your nonsense about who knows what.

Keep on changing your narrative. You said Moeller punted the game against EC. Your wrong..

    Let’s try this.

    Jordan Marshall = Best Player

    VS EC = 15 carries
                                    = Not the same

    VS CG = 40 carries

Comparing the 2 games is not apples to apples..

Last thing I'll say on this.. EC would love to be able to schedule tougher competition. They do their best by scheduling tough non conference. Moeller has now renewed the game against EC for another 2 years. If that game didn't matter then why did they do that? Good luck to all teams tonight!

I assume Moeller has a hard time finding games, and EC is a quality opponent. I know CG is having a hard time finding games too, so maybe EC and CG could schedule each other. Would’ve been great to see that game this season!

Harrison 9-4 lost in regional semi finals.. My stats clearly show that marshall played the whole damn game. Your insistence that moeller punted that game is pure ignorance. Good try

15 carries probably is a whole damn game for Josh Ringer because he only has to play a half against the likes of Shelbyville or Greenwood and still gets 200 yds! Still doesn’t change the fact that EC’s strength of schedule is weak.

Marshall had nearly 40 carries against CG! If you can’t see that’s not the same don’t know what to tell you!

FYI: I think it’s great that EC beat Moeller! Anytime Indiana beats Ohio is a good day!

Because they have done all they can do with the schedule in front of them. If they were struggling with teams, then I would not place them nearly as high, but they have passed every test with flying colors and in a vacuum could beat anybody in the state.  They best Moeller more handily than CG did and we have that data point with BD too.

I am not just going to keep shuffling around the 15 schools with the toughest schedule in my rankings.

You sure have a lot to say about someone’s rankings for a guy who has never posted his own.

All credit to EC for beating Moeller, but that game meant nothing to them for the playoffs in Ohio. They rested some of their players most importantly Jordan Marshall. He played sparingly in that game. He then had 40 carries in the CG game which did matter for the playoff seeding. Comparing those games is not apples to apples.

After watching the CG and WC game if the Trojans allow pressure like they did aight the Warriors. It could be a long night for Cherry as the Giants are averaging 4-5 sacks a game. The Giants have a more well rounded Defense than the Warriors. It will be a clash of titans!

I’d have to disagree. Cherry had time to throw, but played poorly. That was easily his roughest game of the season, but not because he was under pressure.

So you must be  taking BD over CG this week?

HCC/MIC teams with 2500+ students don't have depth...

"I was wrong about something.  Should have known you'd pick it up."

    FIFY.

That was my point! The MiC has dominated because their schools have had more good players or more depth. The HCC is catching up but I’d still give the edge on depth to BD or CG. Both of those teams have had key players miss significant time this year and haven’t skipped a beat.

They play a 6A equivalent schedule during the regular season so not really sure that argument holds much water. They've lost to the eventual 6A champion in 2/3 years they've played in the 6A tournament.

They do not play a HCC or MIC equivalent regular season schedule. Once the get into the tournament is when that schedule begins. Roncali and Chatard are far from 6A, and although Chatard is always good they would struggle with an HCC schedule because they don’t have the depth. Penn and Lafayette Jeff would be below average too.

I’ve spoken on this in the past.  Once you get above that 2500 student threshold there is a point of diminishing returns.

2500 means you can go 2-3 deep and most positions and that’s good enough.  Little advantage to 4000+ vs 2500 as opposed to 3400 (HSE) vs 1900 (Snider).

I want to be clear in that I believe Snider could compete with nearly everyone in the HCC if the contests are being viewed as independent of one another, but asking them to play that schedule 8 weeks in a row world take its toll.

Cathedral is evidence to your point. Once they get in the tournament and have to play 6A schools every week their depth becomes an issue. That IMO is why they haven’t been able to finish in 6A.

I going with Center Grove 24 Oakland 21 (Homer pick)

Oakland is 3-time defending 6a state champions from Tennessee and has won 4 out of the last 5. If you like Wing-t football CG vs Oakland is the game to see, they both run a modified wing-t.
Last year team stats: Oakland Rushing: 4304, Passing: 1665 and CG Rushing: 3543, Passing: 2289. Oakland is mostly a running team but can pass when needed. Oakland has a lot of team speed. RBs can get outside and have breakaway speed to create big plays and defense is fast at closing on ball carriers.

    Keys for CG:

These are all my opinion, and I am not anywhere near an expert. Also, these Opinions are based on what I have seen as of today. I am very aware that Center Grove Will be a better team come playoff time

Running game needs to improve. Last week CG had 100 yards rushing and most of that came from 2 RBs, 40 and 50 yards.  You have to go back to 2009 for a year CG has had no 1000-yard rusher, but even that year they had 3 players over 700 yds. I don’t see a 1000-yard rusher this year, Hope CG proves me wrong!!!

Rap up tackles. IMO CG gave up too many yards after contact against St. Ed.

Keep Oakland speedy big play RBs from getting outside.

Pass defense: Oakland is mainly a running team but can pass when needed. CG needs to not give up big plays. CG has struggled in this area. Last year 4 times CG gave up more than 350 receiving yards.

Improve pass protection. St Ed had a lot of pressure on CG’s QB last week, not putting all the blame on DL. IMO CG does not read the defense and adjust very well during play.

CG needs more out of their passing game. They have a good set of receivers.

Oakland players to watch. (from 247)
    2024
    Duce Hewitt TE 6-3 / 240        3-Star
    Jake Riggs IOL 6-4 / 260        3-Star
    Stephen Ellison S 5-11 / 185  3-Star

    2025
    Kaden Mowl OT 6-7 / 330              3-Star
    Aivery Haynesworth RB 6-2 / 190  3-Star
    Daune Morris SE 5' 10" / 175 lbs   4-star

IMO this is spot on, but I would disagree about the running game. The 2 backs you referenced averaged 6yds a carry against an excellent St Ed’s defense. They need more than 15 touches and the running game will be just fine.

Or maybe Center Grove could stop being a school full of racism.  You ever stop to think why MULTIPLE schools don’t want to play you in sports and why a Superintendent at another district threatened the AD that she would not let her son travel to Center Grove for sporting events due to repeated racist attacks?

Your comment just proves why now SEVEN schools have dropped Center Grove in at least one sport over the last three years.

Calling someone a baby is racist now??? What is your evidence that Center Grove is a “school full of racism”, and that there has been “repeated racist attacks”? What a joke!

Apparently CG is only racist in certain sports since Carmel continues to play CG in the sports they haven’t been getting beaten regularly in.
Your argument proves there is no argument for not playing CG! Except maybe they’re tired of losing…

If the weeks 2 through 5 games are 2-year home and home contracts, then CG will be traveling a lot weeks 2-5 of the 2024 season.  They would travel to TN, Louisville, Cincy, and Columbus in 4 weeks.

Pretty sure Trinity is the only contract that is for more than 1 year.

So I was browsing looking at schedules and came across Linton's. I see where they schedule Akron Hoban. I know Linton having a hard time finding teams. Aren't they like really really good. Kinda like Mater Dei? Just curious if anyone knows anything about them?

Ohio Division 2 state champs. Comparable to a 5A/6A state champ in Indiana. Probably not a good match up for the miners!

Meh.  I'm sure the Carmel high school athletic department has the cash to cover any fines or judgments that would come from such contract breaking.

Probably do, but school board members don’t like answering questions about wasteful spending! Don’t be surprised if Carmel and CG play out their contract.

I don't know. Is it sustainable without such a key individual in place?

Call me when CG swimming beats Carmel.

Center Grove football wins on every level from 2nd grade all star teams through JV. Eric Moore has built a machine here and deserves all the credit for the success CG has had! Now  his former players are taking the lead in the youth program and in the middle schools. Unless CG hires someone from outside the program that tries to start over CG football will be competing for state titles for years to come.

Since it appears caramel is not going to release a statement and be transparent about this issue publicly let’s go ahead and get this out of the way.

Now that their homework assignment is complete, how long until Carmel and a member to be named later are announced as new members of the MIC?

I don’t know about Carmel, but CG was talking about being back to a “normal” conference schedule by 2025. Not sure which conference though.
