Probably just talking to myself here, but 2nd round games for the rest of conference are: LaVille @ North Judson: I could see LaVille giving Judson problems in this one. They only lost in week 2 against them by 7 points. NJ has played a 1A heavy schedule since then while LaVille has tested themselves against the bigger INSC schools. Will it pay off? Rensselaer Central @ Bremen: RC has an 8-2 record with some really nice wins against LCC, Kankakee Valley, and Logansport. Tough game for the Lions.

By far the biggest game this week and maybe biggest in all the North: Griffith @ Knox Can Myles break the career rushing record this week. He is right around 300 yds from it. I see a shootout and whichever team can get a turnover and get that extra possession as the team that wins it.

Warsaw had the bye so I made the trip to go watch this game. I’d heard Angola had a beautiful football facility and took this opportunity to go see it and it is indeed a beautiful football setup. Yikes. The Vikings were completely out coached in this one. The offensive operation was a train wreck with getting play calls in on time, to mass confusion on subs, to trying the same thing over and over when it was obvious Angola was dead set on taking away that inside running game. Angola is extremely well coached and the competitive schedule in the competitive conference has them ready for playoff football.

Knox @ Jimtown - Conference teams meeting in rd. 1. Knox won 56-13 just 3 weeks ago. Hard to argue the score will be any different this week. Jimtown did have a nice win against Lakeland to close out the season, so can they carry that momentum to make a competitive game? Tippecanoe Valley @ Angola - Angola is better than their record shows and it’s a 1 hr 45 minute bus ride for TV. It could be a possible upset in the making. Bremen @ Whiting - Bremen also has a 1 hr 45 minute bus ride to the NW corner of the state. But Whiting shouldn’t pose a threat and Bremen should take this one fairly easily. LaVille @ Culver - LaVille has been putting up points and is going to make some noise in Sectional 41. If they get past a struggling Culver, it should setup a 2nd rd matchup with North Judson. Glenn @ Calumet - Calumet is 5-4, but hasn’t played the schedule Glenn has and they’ve lost their last 3 games. Give me Glenn to win.

Yeah, Radtke is hell bent on getting Myles that rushing record. Then add in the revenge factor for last years upset, my thoughts and prayers are with the Lions tonight.

Not much INSC discussion lately as Knox (McLaughlin) has literally ran away from the rest of conference. In all likelihood, the real race in this conference will be who finishes 2nd - Bremen or Tippecanoe Valley. They will play last week of the season. Week 8 Can Bremen pull the upset again this year against Knox. Doubtful. But that’s why they play the game. Knox by 3+ scores. Tippecanoe Valley at Glenn. Glenn was thumped by LaVille last week and not sure they will be much more competitive against TV. TV by 3+ scores LaVille at Jimtown. Rough year for the Jimmies. Laville is a really solid team and will be a tough out for anyone in 1A playoffs. Sticking with the blowout theme for this week and saying Laville by 3+ scores

2025 Three Rivers Conference
cornfed replied to First_Backer_Inside's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I’m not sure leaving is the answer. What I meant to get across is the competitive balance in the TRC is waaay off. I used Rochester and Mac as this years examples. It could be Peru and Northwestern next year, but there is only 1 or 2 conference games that are really meaningful each year and the rest of the conference schedule is just blowouts. Beating Wabash, Southwood, Northfield, and Whitko by 50 doesn’t do any of these teams any good. Maybe less required conference games and let the schools go out and try to find a couple non-conference opponents for a little more competitive schedule. Maybe split the conference North/South, have 4 or 5 in-conference games and have a championship game last week of season? -
You’re right, not much INSC conversations happening around here. It’s Knox and then the other 5 schools this year. Knox will roll through the last couple weeks as long as McLaughlin stay’s healthy. 2nd place, IMO, will come down to the TV vs Bremen game last week of the season.

2025 Three Rivers Conference
cornfed replied to First_Backer_Inside's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I’m not sure what the answer is for this conference, but it has turned into just a bad football conference. The TRC used to be a premier small school conference with parity and competitive games across the board every week. Rochester and Mac are hands down best two teams and really the only meaningful game of the conference season anymore. Playing this conference schedule does neither of these teams any favors in preparing for the playoffs in a season where both teams could make a nice run. -
Old School / Unique Offenses

Knox has been going with 7 lineman, double TE, H-back and direct snap to McLaughlin at QB. Snap it, and they are coming straight at you. Seems to be working well. McLaughlin has 1,057 yards rushing through 3 games. -
I definitely wouldn’t go off the hudl roster. I just looked through the 2024 roster link you put on here and there is a kid that graduated in 2020 on it. I’m not sure Tippy Valley has ever rostered 80 kids. A small 3A rural public school will average 15 kids per grade, so figure 60 on average. And if one of the 9-12 grades has low numbers - 50ish total. If one of the 9-12 grades has really good numbers - 70ish total. You mentioned earlier about some parents/players unhappy with the coaching staff. Thats the first I’ve heard of that. Moriarty seems to have full support of the community from everything I’ve heard. There’s always going to be an unhappy parent or kid in the crowd no matter where you go. I’m not 100% in tune with Valley, but have friends with kids in the program and they seem to be excited for a bounce back year after a so-so 2024 season. As far as the INSC, Knox has to be the favorite. Losing Conroy will hurt more than people think, but Radtke and McLaughlin can take a team a long way. Jimtown and TV look to be 2a and 2b. Very similar teams. Jimtown has some holes to fill, but they’ll be a typical Jimtown team. TV has a lot of returning starters and look to have an array of athletes. Glenn looks to be a year out yet. Their Sophmore class is going to have them in contention soon though. Laville is smallest school in conference, but is always well coached and have tough hard nosed kids. They just lack the depth to consistently compete in a 3A conference. Bremen lost a ton. And the talent seems to be in the freshman class so may be a rough year, but admittedly, Bremen is the school in the conference I know the least about so could be way off.
-
According to MaxPreps they rostered 54 last year with only 8 seniors. I do know it was a really small senior class last year, so not sure where your numbers came from. I’ve heard it’s a smaller incoming freshman class, so the 52 roster seems consistent with last year. I went to the North Miami, Lewis Cass, Northwestern, TV scrimmage and the TV defense looks legit. Size and speed at all positions. Offense was a work in progress which I’m sure everyone’s is in July.

For those of you stat guys on staff, what are you going with this year? We’ve been looking for something decent since Digital Scout shut down. PressBox Stats sounded promising last year, but was a train wreck and we went back to using iTouchdown after two weeks. It does bare minimum and has a few odd quirks to it that requires everything to be double checked. I did hear PB Stats got better as season went on, but a little gun shy to try it again.
-
Looks like Glenn’s freshman QB had a pretty good game against a solid TV defense.
-
A huge upset with Bremen knocking off Knox 46-38! Woah, didn’t see that coming. I know some of the Bremen guys have been down on the direction of the program. Does this win change your mind? And for any of those that watched the game, where did this performance come from? Tippecanoe Valley over Glenn 22-21. Closer game than expected. Jimtown over LaVille 49-20. The Jimmies will be a tough out come sectional time.
-
Week 6 of the season and week 3 of the conference schedule Bremen @ John Glenn - Rough first half for both programs, but Glenn pulls this one out LaVille @ Knox - Knox just keeps rolling Tippecanoe Valley @ Jimtown - Jimtown shuts down the TV run game just enough to pull out the win. This would setup the week 7 showdown with Knox that could very well decide who brings home the inaugural INSC championship.

Same goes for the coach over at Valley, arrogant (just watch the way he conducts himself on film) and failure to put kids in a position to succeed...If you're old man played at valley, your dad is a sponsor, or your friends with coaches kids you will play. So much talent in that program Senior - Freshman to not compete in the big games when it actually matters or even not having 8-9 kids playing both ways. All the talk about how great the program is yet, no sectional title since 1992??? Wow, sounds like it’s personal here with your TV hate. But in all honesty, a small 3A school in a rural community - 90% of the kids on Valleys team (and every other types of these small town rural teams) fit in one of your categories “old man played at valley, your dad is a sponsor, or your friends with coaches kids” So it would only make sense that those are the kids that play - because that basically covers the entire team.

Jimtown wins with running clock. Knox wins with running clock. TV pulls away late over LaVille 31-14 in the only halfway competitive game.
-
A few surprises last night. Knox just absolutely bullied TV. Glenn kept it closer than I expected. LaVille with the upset. I’m not sure anyone can match Knox’s physicality after watching them just run through Tippecanoe Valley last night.
-
First week of conference games for the new Indiana Northern States Conference. Who ya got? Tippecanoe Valley @ Knox TV pulls out a low scoring smash mouth game. Jimtown @ John Glenn TV/Knox is who everyone seems to think is top of the conference this year. Jimmies look really good despite that 1-2 record and could very well end up on top of this conference in year 1. Laville @ Bremen Bremen’s passing game will be too much for LaVille to keep up with.

INSC - Week #1
cornfed replied to from_the_sidelines007's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Saw they had 60 rushes for 410 yards against an athletically superior 5A team Friday. Not sure I’m buying this take. You don’t do that by being soft or by a lack of effort.
