I thought the article said the coach
22 minutes ago, AG said:Was the Indian Creek assistant a teacher? If so, why wasn't he fired?
I thought the article said the coach was fired, but the brother of the girl involved was being denied a transfer, by both IC and the IHSAA because he was being harrassed.

Is anyone really surprised the IHSAA screwed another student-athlete. They do it all the time, it just doesn't get pub.

I have not heard of any specific financials on the IMG game. I can certainly ask. I believe BD is anticipating a large gate for the game.
Again, as I stated earlier, I really believe the friendship of Jason Simmons and one of the coaches at IMG started the ball rolling on this one.
2 Things since everyone seems to be speculating.
Are we sure BD is not getting paid to Host IMG?
Related to the first question, I am willing to bet they are flying here.
Tuition at IMG is listed between 45K and 90K.

Scroll down the page to find tuition fees.
So to answer the question that started this thread, MONEY!

From the data I’ve seen, the real utility of Guardian caps may well lie, not in preventing concussions, but in the repeated microtraumas to the head which many believe can, later in life, lead to chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
The NFL is not using them just for show. The above is correct. Training your neck and traps also can reduce concussions and this is documented. Sorry Bob Ref, several states use ours, I thought it was a NFHS rule.
- 1
-
That must be a state adopted rule, we use the NHFS rule here in IN.
-
Does the clock continue to run when the mercy ruled team cuts the deficit to 28........21?
Yes.
No, it does not. Once the running clock begins it continues until end of the game. NFHS 2019 or 2018 rule change.

I have known Coach Rodenberg a long time and followed his career although never worked for him.
On 2/2/2022 at 11:26 AM, oldtimeqb said:Is Roncalli allowed to determine the head coach's pay? Is it the same for Chatard, Scecina, and Ritter?
The Evansville Diocese sets the stipend for head coaches and number of assistant coaches to be the same at Memorial and Mater Dei. This is true in all sports, not just football.
I have know Coach R along time and followed his career although I haver worked for him. We spoke right before he left Roncalli, and he told me Roncalli and most private school always have money when they want something or someone. I have been in and out of many private schools throughout my career and I would have to agree with Coach Rodenberg on this. So all though the stipends might be set on paper, that does not mean that is the only money to be paid for someone a school wants.
Has the interview process even started yet?

I think I heard Roncalli is open...
Rodenberg went back to Cincinnati, Indian Hills, HS. A public school with so much money, they joke it's a private school.

Being from Cincy, I have known Coach Rodenburg for a long time, and we got to talk a couple weeks ago. He told me, "The program was not in the situation I was told it was in when I was hired, and it will take us a little longer to get it going than we thought, but we will get there." He has great resume and built a great progam at a smaller school in Cincy before he went to Moeller which is typically very talented. Hang in there LC fans, he is a good man, doing the right things to get LC where it belongs.

The NHSF App has free quizzes and $6.99 you can add the rule book online to click the link look up the rule that applies.
-
Where is the actual rule? , I find it hard to belive that normal timign doesn't resume if score gets under 35 although unlikely the comeback could occur.
Many states that have a mercy rule is like this one, but normal timing resumes at 34 point differential or less. If it goes back over 35 points running clock resumes.
Great rule - can't believe I am saying that the IHSAA did something right.

If all they are going to do is rubber stamp every request then remove them from the process.
Agreed. BC woud nto say what situationa the waiver is not allowed but lead us to believe that the school gets to waive whatever. The IHSAA shoudl ahve denied waiver but as previpously stated what are the school adminstration saying - sexual harassment doesn't matter and it is my kid sexually harrassed I am taking leagal action against the student and the school for not doing enough. Someone mentioned money- I bet his daddy has deep pockets.
The IHSAA always blames the rule makers.
Coaches want this so we cant change it, officials want this we cant change it , schools want this we cant change it.
Then WTF do you do - all the issues are in the IHSAAhandbook.

Coaching at the middle school level may actually help prepare a coach more than being a coordinator or other varsity assistant. The most difficult part about being a head coach is not the coaching part, as that does not change regardless of the level, it is the administrative aspects of the job that it is impossible to prepare for. As a middle school coach, there are a number of administrative duties that parallel those of a head coach. Finding the right person for a job is as inexact a science as there is. I understand that there are any number of factors that must be weighed by candidates when choosing places to be interested in, and the same goes for the schools when evaluating candidates. I hope Gavit found the man they were looking for!
I would agree if all those things are true. However in my 20 plus years, many MS coaches, especially lately are the convenient hire and none of the things that should go on do, including teaching fundamentals of the game. That of course, should concern the HS coach but sometimes they are not in touch with their feeders. I hope it works out for them.

Why in the world would you defend the IHSAA, when clearly they are wrong in the handling of this situation? Afraid Robert might not let you work in the playoffs, only guessing you are an official by your picture. If you are not, then see the first question.
I have worked in and for several schools and have many contacts around the state, and I know many incidents where hardships against the student occurred and help from the IHSSA was requested and denied, especially if they are a small, urban, or private school. They claim they are for students' best interest and yet those actual examples are hard to find. Feel free to show us one that is not from Carmel or Center Grove.
