  1. They have definitely have had the most talent in the conference recently. If they can’t pull off a win over whiteland or south here in the next couple years it’d be safe to say there isn’t enough talent on the river to compete with teams up north, or there needs to be a coaching change there.
  2. Floyd and East have been on their own level the past couple of years. Good enough to win comfortably over the other river schools like Jeff and New Albany. Not good enough to compete with the teams up North. A new coach at East and some new competition in the conference might be what it takes to give them a regional championship here before too long. I don’t see Floyd having what it takes to compete with anything up North, they get some confidence with a win over teams like Silver Creek and Jeff then get destroyed by teams like Whiteland and Bloom South. East has shown us they can do it before (with a legendary head coach) but I’m yet to see it from the Highlanders.
  3. Floyd is obviously the best river school I just think we need a couple years before we call them better than East, however the past 4-5 years it has been an even fight.
  4. I’m with Tundra on this one. Just because a blind squirrel has found a couple nuts over the past few years doesn’t mean they are a better team. Let’s give a new coach a chance with some strong upcoming classes before we make any wild statements. Plus I don’t think Floyd Central would be using AI to make their players look more buff in their pictures if they knew they had an upper hand.
  5. Do you guys see any teams being able to compete with Bloomington South? To me it seems like we might be replacing the juggernaut that East used to be. Their two HHC matchups were the two best teams in the conference last year resulting in a (W 55-7) over a regional Floyd team. And (W 42-7) over the second place team in the conference Columbus East
  6. They lost the kid to graduation I agree though this class seems like a solid unit, but from what I have heard there is a big question mark at the quarterback spot, what’s the word on that there.
  7. It was a waste of both teams time and they’ve had that going on for decades.
  8. He got in other spots on both sides of the ball, a good swiss army knife for them, that’s hard to replace.
  9. I agree that junior class was solid but after that class it’s a pretty sharp drop off. That one wide out, Baird, that’s a big loss for the squad.
  10. Darn shame, only leaves a handful of games a year for locals to watch who aren’t super dedicated to following the team.
  11. This freshman class and the one below is something else, A semi-state appearance in the next couple years wouldn’t surprise me
  12. I really hope the Highlanders could keep up it would make things interesting. But they just took a big loss to them last year and now they’re losing that Baird kid, it might be a couple years before they catch up to them.
  13. With South coming over to the HHC all we would have to do now is move Corydon over from the Mid-Southern and we might have some actual talent in the conference
  14. That’s the problem with 2 High schools in the same school cooperation/County. The talent is going to gravitate towards 1 school, Floyd Central here. There isn’t much Cooley can do with the talent he has.
  15. I wouldn’t count Bloomington North out. They took a beating from south earlier this year, but they’ve been hot since then. Definitely wouldn’t put the grandkids college fundon Bloomington South friday night.
  16. At the end of the day it’s a high school athlete and you’re an adult, I will say at least you took some accountability.
  17. Yes, they are doing other work such as a new expensive score board. I’ll give it to them I think it will turn out very nice, but I would very concerned with the timeline of the renovations if I was a highlander
  18. In the parking lot, definitely not ideal for them, they have their lines taped on it which helps, but they are impacted as well
  19. Floyd Centrals field installation has been a circus this summer. Not only that but they have had to move their weight room to the cafeteria due to work being done in there. The annual powder puff game already got moved to their middle school and there ain’t a chance in hell their scrimmage vs Charlestown prior to week 1 is held at home. They haven’t even started laying the field, they have one more week before they go back to school and they are still grating the field. Now the football team is getting kicked off the soccer field that they were trying to practice on. From what i’ve heard they boys have been positive through it, but man it’s a shit show. Having a brand new AD helping them navigate this definitely doesn’t help.
  20. Valid point. Almost any sport they can be viewed as great in the area, but struggle to succeed outside of it. They just don’t have what it takes to compete consistently with any teams up north.
  21. The performing arts obsession at Floyd has hindered a number of things over decades
  22. Yeah I heard that, I trust Joe to handle things properly over there.
