I get that it's student ran, but they need one more student to run the camera... I watched it last week and it was rough.  Appreciate the effort, but watching an empty field during crunch time was frustrating.  So if you do watch the telecast, be prepared and don't have any objects close to you that could break your TV....

Great advice! Imagine being 15-18 yrs old, watching that game trying to keep it all together... Im extremely grateful for the program, but was yelling at my TV for sure, haha.

  2. Mississinewa: This will be an amazing environment and game! Both teams have gamebreakers. Home field will be a benefit, but not sure how much... The team with least amount of turnovers.... Wins!

Eastbrook: Eastbrook will win with sp team play...  Eastern has had a great run!

South Adams: great finish to the season MG! Build on it for the off-season... South Adams wins this one.

Ole Miss has done the right thing with coaches! He has brought in quality coaches to help him build the program! This does not happen at other schools. Instead they hire buddies or teachers with little to no experience. The latter is out of their control. Funk and Adamson by far have setup their schools better than the rest of the CIC to be successful!

Coach Ozmun at OH has done things the right way.... Solid program for 21 yrs.

Better pass those numbers on to indiansreloaded!

Pre-tournament stats and probabilities won't win the games. Delta was heavily favored to win sectional and second only to East Central to win state. Good thing football games are not played on paper or on spreadsheets.

Let me get this straight.  Mississinewa won in the first round of the sectional and you already have them playing in the state championship game??  C’mon man!

Chances of winning state, based on ratings, draw and home-field advantage:

    Mississinewa 0.29%

    Eastbrook 7.53%

    MG and Alex 0.0%

  6. Mississinewa @ Huntington North: Indians' come focused and put this to bed early!

Tipton @ Eastbrook: EB takes advantage of turnovers and win by 3 TDs!

Eastern @ Alexandria: Eastern proves to be a more talented team!

Union City @ MG: Both teams are hot at the right time or have the benefit of easy schedule at the right time.... Either way, I'm taking the CIC team! Argylls by a TD!

Is Funk still holding Mississinewa back? Dumbest comment i have ever seen on here. Went to game Friday, great adjustment made at halftime to win that game. I am a Marion graduate, but at some point we have to start giving Mississinewa and there coaching staff credit for what the have done for that program the last few years.

Yep! Delta had some weapons and the Defense dominated the 2nd half. They made huge stops when it mattered. 1 big play away from a shutout. Offense did what what was needed. Great blocking, hard running, and sustained drives leading to points.

CIC Round 1.  Who is making in to next week?

    By the Saragin numbers:

Delta @ Mississinewa = Delta favored by 10

Peru @ Oak Hill = Oak Hill favored by 4.5

Tipton @ Frankton = Tipton favored by 30

Eastbrook @ Blackford = Eastbrook favored by 22

Alexandria @ Elwood = Alexandria favored by 36.5

Madison Grant @ Taylor = Madison Grant favored by 29.5

    Who are you taking?

Ole Miss on a walk off field goal!

Oak Hill on a last series defensive stand!

I'll take the over on Eastbrook and Alex

I'll take the under on Tipton and MG

Did Blackford learn anything from playing Eastbrook a few weeks ago to change their fortunes?

Tipton should be just fine vs Frankton :  Lyons looked very healthy last Friday.

Doubt Alexandria lays an egg vs Elwood

opening round game of intrigue, of course Eastern vs Lapel

OPPONENTS' RECORDS: Lapel 36-45. Eastern 35-46.

I think I may go with the Comets in this true toss up (of course I have not seen one clip of either team, so pure throwing a dart here)

Yeah, I thought Eastern looked good (scrimmage week) against Mississinewa. Haven't seen Lapel. They have some talent and played tough.

Tipton's been just as battle tested as the Panthers, if not more so.

    Nope!

    SoS-

    Eastbrook 158 /Tipton 209

I think Eastbrook wins this sectional.

Tipton is as well-coached as any team in the state, but won't beat Eastbrook this year. From what I've read, it seems they will be a force for the next few years.

Eastern's best team in recent years may beat Lapel (this will be a great game!), but won't be able to hang against Eastbrook.

Are they that good? have you seen them? i know you have to be decent to be undefeated, but their schedule is weak. I dont know anything about them.

They're (Eastern) solid. Watched film from Ole Miss scrimmage.  I haven't seen Lapel play, but think neither will be able to hang with Eastbrook 4 quarters. Eastbrook is battle tested against a few really good teams and will roll through this sectional.

Let’s just be real here.  This is a two team sectional.  Eastbrook and Tipton.  Lapel and Eastern always look this way going into the tournament and they get throttled by good teams!  Sorry if this offends anyone.

    Tipton?

Blackford leads Eastbrook 8-7 at halftime.

Eastbrook with several penalties including a holding that erased a long Touchdown pass....

Nice game! ... EB will make adjustments, stop getting penalized, and win by 14+.

Man I have a  great answer for this one but I had to delete it because you just cant post those kind of jokes anymore!!!! It was a good one though!

I could beat him one on one easily.  He's not even that good.  Just a product of a move into an easy schedule so Grandpa can relive his dream of coaching and make the Bruins fell all warm and fuzzy inside.  100% joking of course.   He might not be a big time D1 player but he will play for a D1 somewhere.

Believe or not I have gained a lot more respect for Mississinewa since their back to back strong sectional performance.  A few years ago I would have said they were a joke that just beats up on 2A schools.  However, even with my new found respect I don't think they can hang with Delta.  The Pendleton Heights win was good but I am not sold on PH.  I have seen Delta play and they are big upfront and athletic at every position.  I'm not going to say there  is no way Ole Miss can win but it's going to have to be the best game they have played all year and Delta is going to have to cough up the ball at least once to help them.

Haha. Yeah, I figured you had some stories that cannot be shared publicly.

I'm torn on Delta man... They definitely have talent and are well coached. PH and Mississinewa are fairly similar in size, strength, and talent... 2 points... 1 Eastbrook/Delta score was not proportionate to ability. Delta delivered a blow early and uncle Mo stayed on their side all game. 2 Eastbrook played with MUCH more intensity vs Ole Miss than I'd seen in any game recently. They had something to prove and proved it!

I'd love to see the Delta/PH game on film. Haven't researched to see if it was a fluke win due to key players missing or  if they simply outplayed Delta.

I have see him multiple times not a bad defender but not  a D1 defender either. He is a excellent shooter but doesn’t move without the ball and can’t get himself open.

I'm no authority on NCAA basketball talent assessment... But,  I've seen him play, only on film. He will play and contribute at the D1 level. He was top 10 in scoring last year in the nation. Seems like he gets enough open shots.

Only time will tell, but I can see him playing and contributing for Ball State.

WHERE IS EVERYONE????  There used to be some great battles and hurt feelings on the CIC threads.  Now its as boring as a 6th grade girls basketball game!!!! I even tried to poke a little at the Tigers and got nothing.  Halfbackpass, flying.I.know.nothing.but.say.everything.socks, C.J.B, Riverrats.......Anybody out there?

Is there still funding in schools for gym teachers?

Haha, jk. But really... Do kids get mental health passes?

Im sorry Ole Miss but there is a VERY slight chance you win that sectional. Hopefully you don’t draw Marion or Delta first round so maybe you can win a game.

Interesting... Delta smashed Eastbrook and loses to Pendleton Heights. Mississinewa beats heights, but loses to Eastbrook. So.... what are their chances? Since your so in tune with D1 basketball recruiting, I'm on edge to hear the logic in determining probability of sectional winners.

"Yeah, man, it's basic hydraulics." "Ok, Archimedes"

Blackford is ready to get on the Luke Brown, Kid can shoot the ball, but to slow to play D1

Have you seen him play? What are you basing his speed/quickness against? You have your opinion  and it a silly one...

"Brown has offers from Ball State and Iona (Ball State coach James Whitford and assistant Ben Botts were among those watching Brown on Sunday morning). Other schools that have reached out to Brown since coaches were able to call directly on June 15 are Purdue, Belmont, Bradley, Dayton, Loyola (Ill.), Miami (Ohio), Northwestern, Toledo and Virginia Tech." https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2019/06/30/indiana-basketball-recruiting-luke-brown-jalen-blackmon-chase-damon-baileys-scoring-record/1546038001/
