  1. 1a 2a again please
  2. That's one thing I liked watching them, they could have given up when down 4 at the end, however they forced a 5 second call and hit the game-tying 3. This game should be great!
  3. I believe that turnovers and tempo will play a big part tomorrow night in the Linton vs. Barr-Reeve game. Linton has not been turning it over as of late much more than 5-6 times a game. I know against Bloomfield, Barr-Reeve had some very uncharacteristic turnovers that let Bloomfield almost pull off the upset. If Barr-Reeve makes the same mistakes against the Miners and Linton can limit theirs, I think the Miners are victorious. However, if Barr-Reeve can force the Miners to play at their pace, and limit turnovers, the Vikings will more than likely pull it out. It's a shame this game isn't for the championship, but more than likely these two would be squaring off sooner or later this week anyway. I think the EG vs. SK game is a toss up depending on whether or not EG's shooters show up. IF they light it up like they did against Linton at the GCI, I would not be surprised to see them pull this game out. However, Rohrer will have SK ready to compete with their typical hard nosed defense. This should be a good game.
  4. I think it's the best place to watch a Regional, that's for sure!
  5. No offense to the other teams in this sectional, but the winners on Tuesday night might as well punch their ticket to the championship game. I just do not think Mitchell nor NK has enough to pull off an upset in round two (NK has been playing better as of late, so I really shouldn't dismiss them).
  6. I also want it add that I would not be surprised to see Loogootee make a deep run in the tournament. They do have the pieces, especially if they can play defense like that. With that being said, they need to play every game like that. I don't know much about Mitchell, but I would venture to say they are no where near as good as Linton, but they gave Loogootee a game it appears last night.
  7. The only positives that come out of this game are that 1) Linton did not play anywhere near their capability, and still took quality team into overtime. 2) In recent past, Linton has typically lost 1 or 2 of their last few games during the regular season, and then would use it as an "eye opener" and make another deep run into the tourney. No this was in no way trying to say Loogootee didn't earn this win, as they definitely played better than Linton last night in the key moments. However, I still see this as motivation and a chance to learn for the Miners. Whoever makes it out of the sectional, will in my opinion, give providence( if they win their sectional) all they can possibly take and more.
  8. Linton actually did not beat them last year. South Knox was able to knock them off and then lost to Linton in the 5 OT thriller.
  9. I do agree. After watching the last 3 quarters against Vincennes Lincoln last Tuesday, my only thought was that either Linton would learn from it and become a much better team, or they would curl up in the fetal position. I know with Hart as coach, I did not see the latter happening. This team has some talent, and the scary thing is they are very young for the most part with some very talented players coming up through the ranks. I will not begin predicting post-season success, but I would not be surprise to see Linton win tomorrow night. They also could possibly win the rest of their games up until the postseason, IF they show up and play like they are capable of, but these are 15-18 year old boys, and that round ball is not always your friend. With that being said, defense is what makes this team dangerous, IMO.
  10. Oh, I agree. Like I said, many believe. I think that unless its just blatantly obvious an advantage was gained, the whistle needs to be swallowed in the last 10 seconds of a game, and they did this. Still I think that Linton proved what they can do if they play close to their potential, THS is a very good team.
  11. By watching that final play over and over again, I see nothing that would lead me to believe that anything should have been called, but what a game!
  12. I will say this, there were several missed calls on both sides. Many believed dieball was found at the end of regulation too. The Refs I believe let the players determine the outcome, and Dieball hit a big shot.
  13. Oh I completely agree with last year. I believe if they had 5 more minutes, the comeback would have happened. I had never seen a Linton crown so quiet. But what can you do? We all know that Coach Hart will make a positive out of this and the team will gain something. Its still early in the season, with a young team, so they will keep getting better.
  14. Linton struggled for the last 3 quarters. Only stretch I have seen as bad as that was last years Regional final.
  15. I will say this about the ACL, as I tore mine in high school as a freshman. I was able to play a few football games on what was suppose to be a strain as I was never sent to get an MRI until after I irritated it again. It is possible, but would be much harder in basketball, IMO due to the excessive lateral movement. Also, I ended up getting surgery in mid-late December and was back playing baseball by mid April (was doing more before that, just not medically cleared). I hope he makes the right choice and it works out. If he plays baseball and is not a senior, I'd hope he gets the surgery and live for next year.
