  1. IMO it’s wk #6, this season I’m not sure if any team has played back to back weeks without some sort of player loss due to Covid, injury or other causes.
if your team is NOT creating personnel depth  in practice up to 3&4 deep this season, then these things are devastating.
if you are then it just sucks but you can still play.
Earlier this week Boonville had already cancelled JV game vs Mt Vernon for Monday.
The goal this year was to create some normalcy for the kids by getting back in the classroom and on the field. Here we are week #6. I’m a fan that is so thankful to the Administrations and Coaching staffs that took the steps trying to make this happen.
Let’s keep it rolling and enjoy the games.

A player of mine has been invited to play in the Hawaii Tiki Bowl.

Are there any coaches out there who have had a player participate in this game?

What are your thoughts on this game?

    My 2 cents....
    1) I’ve seen multiple kids the last few years receive invites (including my son) from our school and the area. It’s not that exclusive.
    2) $3K to spend the week in Hawaii with 3 other players in a room and share a bed with limited exposure. *meals not included
    3) $3K can get you to a lot of camps at schools with multiple college coaches attending.
    4) if you’ve got the cash and want to go to Hawaii, what better way to do it than getting to play football. 😎

P.S. $3K for each person that wants to go along with the player.

  3. No matter what level of football a player competes at, you play to win the game. But most importantly you prepare and practice to be a winner. For most kids football is a very small window of their lives. The impact it can have on the ability to endure and overcome obstacles is immense. I enjoy other sports, but I will never be convinced there is a better sport than football to encompass all things that life can throw at you. #GoWolfpack

Hamstrings are sometimes tricky.  They can heal up quick or become nagging and drag on for a while.  Hopefully the shoulder thing is just a stinger or jammed and not separated.  Never had a shoulder injury but did have a couple of hammy issues over the years.  Used a topical thing the trainers had called "Atomic Balm" with a wrap.  Worked great.  Only took a few days and was able to get back to full practice and played the next game.  That was back in the 70's.  That topical I used is probably illegal these days.   LOL  They probably don't even make it any more.

Atomic Balm oohh the pranks we used to play with that stuff. Great memories!!

You got the extra "E" because I'm a heavy tipper.    Humor for humor.  I could have said, "Pionears".  LOL  I would caution using the name, "Minors" instead of Miners.   I think the last time someone posted that, their team was totally embarrassed on the field.  It's all good though.  And I apologize for the typo in the spelling.  So it's boon , like an adventure and not boone like Daniel Boone.  Got it.

Just having some fun. If the Linton Miners aren't at least a 3 score favorite I'd be surprised. Boonville can't be the same team they were last year, no wonder they didn't want to join the SIAC or PAC for that matter. Adding HH, GS and potentially SR won't be any easier.

  6. HH wins the takeaway battle and the game.

MC wins with discipline and execution

Boonville got beat physically, have they rebounded mentally. Boonville wins, but closer game than should be.

Vincennes has to be able to run the ball to win?? I say they will.

Washington needs everybody to play, if they are still beat up, then ND.

  7. I guess what I'm more inclined to want to know, is can a defensive player continue to be disruptive to a receivers route as long as ball is NOT in the air, he is NOT holding, arm baring, pushing from behind, kind of stuff.

But playing what I prefer to think of as basketball type defense with a little more physicality.

  8. I am needing clarification on when, how, or where impeding a receiver can be called? I had a very good conversation with an official from a very solid crew. But was still left unsure in how to teach defenders how to avoid this. Keep in mind this was not a penalty called during a game. It was a discussion that evolved from pass interference discussion.

RoadRunner is right. No wing T, options, dive's and sweeps, A few passes here and there. More of a spread type O.

The kid I saw playing QB the last half of Jaspers season last year, I thought looked to be more of a passer not a runner. But I didn't see that much of him.

  10. Boonville vs Vincennes pick 'em Boonville returns more firepower but at Vincennes is always a unique officiating experience. Big plays decide this one.

MTV vs NP = 2 very innovative offensive coaches, defense will decide this game. Nod to NP

    Princeton still a mess =THN

Southridge tried and true vs a who are we Jasper = Southridge

Washington just not enough dudes = Bosse

I don't think recruiting has anything to do with it. You can look at Boonville's next year schedule and see that they don't want any part of schools their size. 3 non conference games against 2a schools. No offence to those 2a schools either. I think they are wanting to make their program better.

Sorry, forgot to quote you on my last post.

What Boonville is saying is that they cant compete with the tougher compitition. Mainly football because as I said earlier they are already competing against SIAC schools in all of the other sports.

Just looking at the numbers, Booneville could absorb Tecumseh HS, borrow 200 students from Castle and may still be smaller than Reitz. 😂😂

I believe the SIAC wants and thought they had 12 teams, why else would they have changed their bylaws from a 10 school cap to a 12 school cap. That right there tells you there were 4 additions at some point in the process.

Just a thought, 12 schools with 2 divisions of 6 would have allowed 4 opportunities to maintain rivalries and/or reach outside the SIAC for opponents.

I really don't understand what Boonville is thinking. With Jasper and VL going to the SIAC that pretty much screwed the rest of the Big 8 because I don't see the PAC letting them in. So are those 4 going to still have a 4 team conference. Are they going to go independent? Seems like a AD nightmare trying to fill 6 non conference games every year. I would think they would want some sort of stability.

I guess they could play each other twice and have 3 non-conference games.
