I'm thinking offensively getting #22 in the backfield with #6 would help our running game.  Playing some lineman both ways the entire game might help the run defense.  I have no idea what would help the defense against the pass.  I certainly couldn't do any better.  I'm just venting and it makes me feel a little better but not much lol.

Did you delete you other post where you were bashing your school's players?  I was gonna say a little harsh, eh??

    Mockville

HH (I can't go against the Patriots, this game may be closer than people think)

SR--this may go to a running clock early in the 4th quarter

    FP

    NK

    NP

    Flip a coin...Washington?

SR with the running clock? Geez, not giving any credit to the 5-0 Marksmen?  I'm feeling a Raider win, by running clock might be a stretch.

At least till this point, I feel like this year's Castle team is not being given the credit they deserve. Their only loss came to North, who is being considered a top tier team. They lost by 7 and was ahead for the first 3 quarters. They have given up 24 points through 4 games. They missed the Bosse game, so let's be honest, they should be 5-1. Just my two cents.

5-1? Did they get a bonus game somewhere along the line? I know you meant 4-1.

You realize people may have died because they attended a basketball Sectional, right?

Not belittling the situation at hand, but you do realize people died because they decided to get in a vehicle and drive and got hit by another vehicle or had a single accident fatality.  Are we supposed to just stop driving all of a sudden?

I mean lower yardage sure but not anything bad

20/37 for 211 yards, 1 TD 0 INTs  vs Columbus North

20/37 for 171 yards, 1 TD 2 INTs vs Whiteland

11/16 for 88 yards, 4 touchdowns 0 INTs vs Washington

    Totals so far

    51/90 for 470 yards 6 touchdowns 2 INTs.

i think the Washington game really deflates things with only 88 yards...but hey when it’s 49-0 at the half and you have a pick 6 With a good run game i can’t really say they should have thrown it more.  That would just be padding stats lol

I almost added, that i wasn't saying he had a bad start, 155 ypg isn't awful by any stretch.  I just know that I have saw some big numbers from him in games/years past, and honestly i'm expecting that happens Friday.

  5. It appears Harrell's predictions are looking better after a few weeks of stats and results.  I think i'll take GS by a few TD's other than that, i'll agree with the JH predictions.

Interesting game this week as MTV travels to Owensboro Cath.  I think Catholic is a tradition rich program and Mount Vernon is off to its best start in awhile.  Do we call this one the game of the week, or does GS-Boonvegas get the designation, or maybe even NP vs TC?

I was thinking the exact same thing.  I know for a fact that HH is going to take some lumps because of quarantine, against my judgement they played last Friday.  The way the HH program is approaching this, I believe, is young kids will get experience now, and this may pay dividends later in the season when everyone is back.

Was it against your judgement because you didnt want to take a loss or what?  I mean at this point you have plenty on the roster who have put the time in and deserve to play, right?

  7. SR has developed a nice opening week rivalry with Linton and I think both programs have alot of respect for each other.  I'll root for Linton to have a fine season.  Linton wins this week.  Also, after reading Monrovia went winless last season, I had to look at past seasons and it was all that long ago that they were a 2A powerhouse(see 14/15/16 seasons).  They have fallen mightily!  Are things looking up for them?

  8. I know 2 weeks isn't much of a sample size to collect data, but I'm really stumped on how the computers think the Princeton should be favored over Mt Vernon.  My guess is Washington doesn't score a point on GS.  SR starting with 3 straight shut outs will be tough.  I think they handle NP, but maybe give up one score.  The most intriguing match up IMO is TC vs FP.  Both coming in at 2-0, they have to be feeling good about themselves.  Both with impressive wins in week 2, and I think both teams learn alot more about themselves Friday.  TC has some extra motivation seeing as how FP bounced them out last year.

  9. I will help 04 with team write ups this week......

    1. Central - After two weeks, they have the best resumé. No doubt they belong at the top.

    2. North - Off to their best start since 2016, the husky dogs are playing good ball. In years past, beating Castle and Memorial back to back is as good of a two game stretch as it gets. It doesn’t carry the same weight this season, but the boys in green are legit SIAC contenders as it is possible for two undefeated to face off in week 9 for the title.

    3. Reitz - CJ has them at 3, and Reitz comes in slightly overrated IMO. Under new Coach Brunson, the boys on the hill look to regain an old form as the dominant force in the SIAC.

    4. Southridge - Back to back shutouts for the men in black. Good win over traditional 1A/2A power Linton  followed with a shutout of Boonvegas and their D1 RB has the Raiders primed for another good year.  A lot of new faces this season, but no drop off from the Ridge so far.

    5. Vincennes - They are a late game shenanigans TD by Reitz away from a 2-0 start in their new conference.

    6. Jasper - topled the champs in week one. Haven’t proved much yet, but the Cats have a long tradition of winning. Expect them to challenge for a top 3 finish in the SIAC.

    7. Mount Vernon - A new coach brings a new outlook. The Wildcats have a hunger for winning with Coach Messmer, a former Southridge player and coach.  They have aspirations of winning a PAC large school title.

    8. Castle - tradition alone says Castle won’t go down without a fight. This season is no different as they lost a close one vs North, and found a way to win a defensive struggle vs MD.

    9. Tell City - The Men of Troy are looking like contenders in the PAC small division. Is 8-1 out of the question? Or better yet?

    10. Forest Park - The Danger Rangers under coach Fuhs have started 2-0 for the first time since 2011. Big time showdown in week 3 vs TC. These guys are turning a “basketball school” into the Gridiron gang!

HM - Memorial, GS and MD

If Princeton and Washington are the only ones that can be judged at this point then you still feel that Pike Central has a chance?

I dont believe GS will play Pike Central therefore he hasn't mentioned them as they are part of the small school sector of the conference.

  11. I know if I was a FP coach/player, i'm ok getting GS off the week 1 schedule.  Just hard to learn much about yourself when the game is over by the half.  I know its only one game/week, but week 1 sets the tone for the season.  While it was ugly if you only look at the score, GS is probably just fine with the result if you look at the big picture and FP is happy too.  Win-win for both teams with the schedule change.

No doubt there is a balancing act...but physically we were just fine Friday.  Brady was only put on the ground one time...our Oline is very good.  For the record I was always a big advocate on here over the years that HH and GS were just fine with their schedules (typically arguing with our SIAC friends who typically believe they have the toughest schedule in the universe), and I still stand by that.  You can be successful in the tournament with the old PAC schedule, it has been done many times.  That said.....I think there are a few advantages to "playing up" in terms of preparation.  We were able to coach a lot of things we wouldn't have normally been able to coach after a typical week 1.  There is no doubt that score will have some of the teams in Big School PAC conference licking their chops...asking themselves....is GS down?  It might be dangerous to underestimate the Titans in the second half of this season.

If GS would go 1-3 to start the year, I dont think many people who actually know football will sit back and say, maybe they arent very good this season.  Big time difference in 5A and 6A football than 3A. Kudos to them for playing the schedule they do.  Iron sharpens iron, and i'm sure GS will know ALOT more about themselves after 4 weeks than the majority of of teams.
