Went back and watched, that was 15 Nick Miller, our TE/FB/DE. I didn’t realize til I looked for it here, but he leveled a kid on that play. He has been Mr. Do Everything for us for four years, and he played a hell of a game on Saturday. He normally doesn’t play with much emotion, he’s just a pretty reserved laid back kid, but you could see his heart on his sleeve and how bad he wanted to win that game.

I also kind of hoped it would be 70 who you were referring to, because he actually was a backup quarterback the past 3 years. He gained some weight over the offseason, and ended up starting at guard for us this year.

That play was a brutal hit.  Miller had a great game.  Based our entire pass pro off of his alignment and he still got pressure on several plays.

Congrats to Covenant Christian on winning the State Championship.  A lot of credit needs to go to Coach Flatt and the Basketball program.  Many kids over the past 5 seasons were definitely more basketball kids, than football kids.   Coach Flatt has obviously been able to give the ok for a lot of these kids to play football also.  It has definitely helped the CC football team!

Coach Flatt does deserve a lot of credit.  He was one of our biggest supporters throughout the whole season.  He told me after we beat Lutheran he was trying to move their basketball season back a bit since several bball players would be playing in the state football championship.

Micah Wilson and Nick Miller were especially fun to watch. Both are outstanding players - obviously

I was impressed with the heart of South Adams and the composure of Covenant Christian - obviously

The Covenant Christian offensive line is well coached. Their o-line coach is good at hawg coaching.

God's Hogs stepped up big time Saturday.  I'm sure their OL coach would say he comes from the best coaching tree in the state!

I am sure @Coach_Hogan_Brotherwould be able to tell you there is no gravy train especially with Lutheran lingering in their sectional. That was a good game as well. CC had a terrific year, but they also have some 3+ year starters they will be losing which won't be easy cleats, helmets, and shoulder pads to replace.

Nothing is easy in Lutheran's sectional haha we're going to need a great off-season.  Hopefully this success inspires our returning guys and younger up-and-comers.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching him run.  The thing that I noticed about him too is that his East/West running was not "wasteful."  Some backs that can scamper East/West sometimes spend lots of horizontal yards picking up a few vertical.  He seemed very "economical" in his East/West which made it harder for the defense to get a fix on him.  That run that he had after SA took the lead for the last time was just amazing as I have to expect he was running on pure adrenaline at that point in the game.

As much as his play on the field, I thoroughly enjoyed his demeanor in the post-game interview.  He seemed surprised when the interviewer told him how many yards he had and the first words out of his mouth were recognition to his line.  He also seemed to have an infectious quality about him, in a good way, ... his grin, his approach, etc.  All in all, seemed like a kid who appreciated the opportunity and embraced the moment well.

Micah’s a very quiet, modest kid.  He’s a great teammate.

The two-year cycles currently run as odd-start, even-end ... and you need 6 in the cycle to move up.  For Pioneer, in the 2015-2016 cycle, while they made it to LOS in 2016 they only had 4 points ... they got 3 points in the loss to Linton and they lost in regionals to LCC in 2015 and only got 1 point.   For the 2017-2018 cycle, they racked up 8 points with back-to-back wins at LOS.  In the 2019-2020 cycle, they played in 2A due to SF move up.  They lost in the first game of sectionals last season and garnered 0 points, but won a regional this season before being beat by Luers in semi-state.  The 2 points they picked up for a regional were enough, despite zero last season, to remain in 2A since you need 6 points to move up and just 2 points to stay once you move up.

Boy howdy I ain't much of a math guy.  You sure we can't just move the pp schools up 2 classes and call it square?

    Seems with Covenant that

They return over 300 rushing yards and 5 tds. They return 73 receiving yards and 2 tds.

Their 3rd leading rusher is their 2nd leading tackler.  They also return their leading tackler and 3 other guys that had 30+ tackles... From what said on here they got a talented sophomore class so atleast 2 more good years coming.

Hopefully our success this season will allow us to "hand-pick" a great new crop of talent, just like we always do!

Lol the avatar was to be used in team builder with my stepson, but we never got the right NCAA version & gaming system to put it in there. It's a mix between Michigan & the San Diego Chargers. We both like Michigan (my #1 & his #2 to LSU) and we just liked the Chargers logo mixed in. The "Pioneer/SA" color scheme just fit in pretty well. I could change it back to the county trophy I suppose, but I use this all over the interwebz.

Teambuilder was awesome back in the day.  Had some fond memories leading the Ivy Tech Fightin' Techies to 8-peat national championships with Lou Holtz at the helm!

So let me get this straight. It's not okay for Covenant Christian to play for a State Championship 6 years after starting a football program, but it is okay for Fishers to win a State Championship 5 years after starting a football program.

A quick look over at the Covenant Christian Warriors website. They have a roster of 37 players. Pretty much the same players that were 6-5 last year. Avenged a close lost to Lutheran from last year in Sectionals. I would venture to say with that small of a roster they likely do not have Freshman or JV teams. So players are learning all through Varsity games.

Thank you.  Several 3-4 year starters in our senior class.  Yes, we get people from different school districts, but the most effective recruiting we've done is convincing stud basketball and baseball players to join the football team.

I fear that you may be right.

1A - The Covenant Christian Oriole Bulldogs have not been tested all year and SA has a couple of guys who are talented.  Not sure it will be enough.

2A - WeBo has been on the big stage a lot and I feel like they've overachieved this year.  Luers is good and has really found their stride.

3A - Best game of the weekend.  Toss up in my opinion.

4A - The Roncalli Football Team seems like they became great overnight.  They weren't on anyone's radar that I talked too.  Does Hobart have enough offensively to keep up?

    5A - C'mon.  Cathedral by a million

It's the Oriole Bulldog Cougar Giant Big Red Irish Hornet other Bulldogs, officially

Not ready in what sense?  What does 1 or 2 losses hurt you in the regular season?

Mainly the size difference.  They’re always a buncha beefcakes and they have a superb strength and conditioning program.  Since we’re such a new program, we need several years to build ours before we’d be ready to play 3/4a powerhouses several times per year.  GC and Brebeuf are tough programs as well.

BUT rumor has it we’re trying to get Parke Heritage and other solid 1a/2a teams on our schedule, so we’re trying to toughen it up.

Honest question. I noticed yesterday during the WW/CC game that the Circle City Conference kept retweeting and talking about the game. Is CC going to eventually join the CCC or just a Private school thing?

CC and Heritage aren’t in the conference for football, but are for most other sports.  No immediate plans for CC to join, as far as I know (football program is only 5 years old).  Not quite ready to play Roncalli and Chatard on a yearly basis, in my opinion.

Well.....as WW is getting steam rolled currently i thought I'd take a min to say congrats to both teams on outstanding seasons. Sucks we went down this way. All I can do as a fan is hope the future remains bright and we continue to build on this and try again in the future. A hell of a senior class is leaving...best overall I personally ever seen. Between what happen last year and doing all this covid stuff the team and staff should be proud to get here. Congrats to @senatorcoach72 on a great season. Hopefully next coach is ready to continue to build up what we have. @Coach_Hogan_Brother congrats on the victory and best of luck at state.

Thanks!  WW is a great community.  That final walk out to midfield for those seniors was amazing.  It’s awesome to see that kind of support for the kids.

Let me preface by saying I have only seen CC online, but I think they will have their hands full with WW.  I think WW should actually be the favorite in this game.  Granted WW has almost always benefited from a weak regular season schedule (add in the fact they didnt play salem this year) WW has a very good O/D line.  Good enough to give any team nightmares and dominate most teams.  Been that way for the past 3 years.  WW has their share of athletes and I'm sure CC has tremendous athletes as well but the line I saw from CC online won't be able to handle WW's line.  Look for the PLAC to be represented in Indy next weekend.

The OL/DL is where South Putnam was supposed to be superior to CC, but boy was I fooled.  CC made them look terrible with greater speed and quickness.  Those 6'5" 280# SP linemen were clearly overmatched by CC.

If the WW line is like SP, it will be a long night for the Senators.

This game will 100% come down to the OL/DL (but what game doesn't, really?) 😉

Should be a fun, physical game!!
