Well St Joe will be visiting Mishawaka this fall in week # 2. Northridge dropped SJ for Elkhart and Mishawaka had an open where Penn should come on in 2023.
There have been some good games with these 2 in the past. See how this one plays out
I think Mishawaka will be pretty good for the next few seasons. The younger Fisher will handle that offense very well.

Whats your point? You brought the Mishawaka schools into this conversation.
That Mishawaka and Marian are not 2nd rate team's in Mishawaka anymore.

Yes, but are they elite.
The PP is close, not quite there yet.
And what is your point?

High school football has changed over the past decade from when the team with the best "football players" won the championships. Now, the team with the best "athletes" wins the championships. Penn does not have have great athletes. Elkhart does. And Elkhart will surpass Penn over the next 5 years. Athletes are either born or they are made in the strength and conditioning room. Many schools develop their own athletic talent through intense 7 on 7 type competition. The game has passed this Penn coaching staff by in the rear view mirror. Penn players rarely if ever show up in the Top 50 recruiting rankings in Indiana any more. Hopefully Penn wont go thru the same bottoming out that Munster did when a coach stayed 10 years past his expiration date.
The other two football teams in Mishawaka have been pretty good the past few seasons.

Mishawaka has had their share of sectionals as well as a few regionals the last 10 years or so and I think they have been very successful. Sure could be a lot worse.

It seems like Mishawaka will always have a punchers chance at a conference title in the NLC, even in a "down" year for the cavemen where they might lose to Marian and Elkhart in Non-Conference games but then still be a factor in the NLC race. Not sure if they would view the NIC the same way.
With Justin Fisher Mishawaka would have been the best team in the NIC this past season.

i have never been to a fb game at Plymouth High School, looking forward to watching my Cavemen play there this next season. As well as trips to NW, Northridge and Warsaw should be exciting games.

Good luck to fellow conference member Northridge. Go Cavemen.

Not too many surprises last night for the NIC. Penn dispatched Elkhart (I'm still bitter NP lost to those guys). MC unsurprisingly throttles Adams. NP goes old school option football to get by the Eagles. St. Joe got a nice W in what looked like an evenly matched game going in. Marian flexing their muscles against a Viking team that learned what it takes to play with the big boys. Only surprise for me was LaVille beating Bremen twice in one season; I know Laville has a nice season going with a stout defense but their offense has been pretty subpar, I figured the Lions would of figured it out and gotten by their old NSC brethren.
Mishawaka vs MC Friday night. I don't know a whole lot about MC other than they are very good.

Mishawaka played very well with Justin Fisher under center getting some revenge 35-7.

Glad to see Mishawaka senior QB Justin Fisher return to the field last night. Great kid from everything I’ve read about him.
True, he played well.

Nice win Concord. A little surprised by this one.

Agreed @Crusty! I was more impressed with the Cavemen on defense than I was the Raiders who get a lot more chatter on this forum for their defense. By the end of the season, we might see that Mishawaka and Concord were actually the two best defenses in the conference. Should be a great game.
Is Justin Fisher out for the rest of the season? His younger brother looks pretty comfortable taking the reigns, but I feel for Justin. He's a stud and I believe Mishawaka would have gone undefeated with him at QB and been able to make a potential tournament run with him at the helm.
i hear there are rumblings Justin might be back this year but nobody knows for sure. I hope for his sake he can...

Mishawaka at Concord... Mishawka has an under-rated defense. I think the varsity has given up 3 td's this season.

Hoping my Cavemen get back on track this week.

I wish there was a cross town rivalry game this year..

Mishawaka vs Warsaw headlines week 4. Coach Curtis vs Coach Kinder.

Who got shut out last year?? Since when is scoring 28 points a shut out?? Apparently you know very little about Cavemen football... You really think a Mishawaka team will back down after getting smacked a few times. At least this so called expert knows what a shut out is...
