There is a report circulating that the Henry County (New Castle) Health Dept. has ordered all sporting events and practices canceled. No re-opening date set yet.
New Castle is scheduled to host Franklin County Friday night.
It's only Shenandoah. They had something like 250 kids quarantined due to contact tracing over the last week or so, according to a message by the superintendent Sunday night. That's like 20% of our total student population. Right now week 1 is not looking likely and I'm doubting we'll play week 2.
The rest of the Henry County schools are business as usual.- 1

You may want to reach out to Scecina. Scecina was supposed to play Shenadoah but the Henry County Health Dept shut down Doah extra curriculars today.

I keep seeing comments about not paying assistants. I know Elwood hasn't paid assistant coaches for years but I figured this was common across all small schools. Do assistants at other 2A schools still get compensated for their time? I know assistants of at least one 3A school that get small compensation. I just figured the larger the school, the more $ in the budget to pay assistants and at most small schools, there isn't a big enough pie to slice multiple ways. Even $2k or $3k is nothing to sneeze at when compared to $0 but I really don't think small potatoes like that is what's keeping good help away, is it?
Doah plays for 1 HC and I believe 4 assistants. And the 4 MS coaches are also paid but I assume that's the MS budget.

I coach middle school football. Our middle school has about 330 kids give or take. I have 42 kids combined on the two teams (7th and 8th grade). For simplicity's sake, lets assume half the 330 are boys (165), That means I have about 25% of the male population playing football for me.

He has Triton Central in two different sectionals.
Good call. Hadn't noticed that. I assumed he had a double, just didn't go through them all to check which was the double.

If you zoom in, the ones on top of each other are separated. Each school's site is marked with a pin and some are pretty close together.
You've got 9 teams in 37.

Cole Alexander from Lapel- Strong arm and mobile. 40+ combined TDs as a junior.
Peyton Starks from Shenandoah- Only had 1800 yards passing 34 combined TDs because he plays in a predominately run oriented offense but he has a very strong arm.

That wouldn't be in Stark County, would it?
No, Portage County. The school district was Ravenna, right next to Kent. We were only there 2 years before moving to Indiana. Our first year there, they had a kid named Marcus Sanders as a senior. One of the best football players I've ever seen up close.

A school my wife worked at in north east Ohio sold PSLs to fund their multi million dollar stadium. The stadium cost the taxpayers $0. I think the cost was like $1500 a seat. Very nice facility. Had field turf installed, which at the time was not common in Ohio (early 2000s). I think they since sold the naming rights to the stadium too.
Frankton vs. Lapel

This will be a blowout. Lapel will easily handle Frankton. Maybe 42-7
