  1. Sounds like we will never really know the answer unless we get a super super duper reliable source.

No matter what, it sucks for all the athletes involved. There has to be something that caused this. Rumor is that it had to do with covid cases and WV admin put a stop to it.
I’m not going to get in a back and forth on here as we will always have PH haters that will never believe different, and  PH loyalist that will support them until the end.

So with 2 weeks left in the season, I hope nobody has to miss sectionals do to Covid.

Does SV have a limit on tickets?

    hLots of questions here.

    How’s the injured player?

Why the cheap shots toward Attica?Didn’t the Woofs ditch a game against a mediocre 3A so they could stomp a struggling 1A?

Doesn't it seem like Moores has changed his coaching style? No hitters on defense? Bad tackling? Even his smallest players at Seegers could knock your head off. Where’s the running game?

That’s enough for now I gotta go

Heard the injured play that was took off the field by ambulance is fine.

PH ditched a game against the 3A school but didn’t play that week.

Why has Attica been canceling games? Are their numbers that low that they don’t want to take a chance and get some one hurt against better schools? Or are they already hurt and can’t field a team?

PH does not seem to have the killer instinct on defense. Seems like a lot of their main guys play both ways. Not sure if they decide to rest on D so they can get their stats on offense.

I think Moore adapts his offensive coaching to the type of players he has. PH does not have a hard nose running back and between Rockville and Turkey run it’s been awhile since those schools had one between them. But honestly with the Johnson kid at QB I would bet on him 99% of the time to make a play with his legs or arm. He was fun to watch.

On to week 7 not much to get excited about for this upcoming Friday.

  3. More after game thoughts.

PH - really talented players on offense, can score with anyone. Defense needs work. Never seen the killer instinct in anyone on the field. Someone one needs to step up and put a hit on. Needs to learn to wrap up. Special teams. Might as well pooch kick every time as the coverage team struggles. PH learned it takes more then scoring points to win games.

SV strongest part of their game is the running game. Take Shew off the field the team is a .500 ball club. Needs to pas the ball more to open things up. A good run defense will cause problems for SV. Maybe that’s what Sullivan had. SV had a few big pass plays but there were very few. Will need to improve come state tournament time.

any clue what happened before the game? I saw one player one the sidelines with a knee brace on for the Wolves. Before the game started I saw another player fully dressed in uniform on crutches. I didn’t notice anyone having issues before the game.

if you were lucky enough to be at the game tonight you saw the best two players in the WRC Joey Shew and Christian Johnson. These boys are fun to watch.

on to next week now. Don’t believe we will have another exciting game to look forward to for a few weeks.

  4. Sad why to see the game end. Hope the PH player is ok.

I am assuming game will end with this score so my take away from the game is the same as first half.

    Best qb on field. Johnson

    best running backs SV

best player on the field Shew.

biggest take way. Sullivan must have a hell of a defense.

  5. End of first half SV 35 PH 28

    my take away.

    QB advantage PH

    receivers advantage PH

    running game advantage SV

    Defense advantage SV

    excitement for the game SV.

D1 players on the field zero.

D3 player on the field 7-8

D3 players on the field that will get playing time 4

Should be an exciting 2nd half

  6. Can the clock move any slower today?

A lot to look forward to tonight in the SV/PH game. Who shows up tonight?

Does SV prove that they had a bad game and it was a fluke that they only scored 13 points in 4 quarters plus overtime. Do we find out that Sullivans defense was better then everyone thought? Does SV have a defense to control all the playmakers at PH.

Does the D1 quarterback come out and control the game. Does the coaching staff put more of the game in his hands and they throw more then 15 times? We will see.

Is PH the real deal on offense or have they just been lucky to blow out weaker opponents to pad their stats. Does PH prove they have a dual threat offense. Does the defense have the ability to shut down big plays?

Both teams seem to have a decent kicker, does it come down to extra points or field goals?

Do the coaches let the ball fly for a high scoring game or do they try to control the clock and let defense decide the game?

good luck to all teams tonight play hard and stay safe.

  7. I asked this question early on with no response. Was anyone at the SV/Sullivan game? Still curious if Sullivan has that good of a defense?
If anyone one from SV is on here. If you have a D1 quarterback why would you not put the ball in his hand to make plays. SV had the same amount of passing plays in 4 quarters has they had in previous games only playing 2 quarters. Based on the article in the Terre haute paper last week  based on the qbs stats. They said “think about what it would be if he played 4 quarters” I was looking for 27-30 pass attempts.  Was he hurt? Bad coaching? Did SV not care about the Sullivan game and are only focused on the Wolves? Any insight would be helpful.

PH has something to prove. They haven’t had a challenge yet. Can the defense step up. I believe by looking at the stats the Varsity has only given up 2 tds. Can the brothers make a connection this week? Will the ball be moved around? Will this qb stand up to his hype?

as far as I see through a few games whether in person or by stats. I don’t see either team have a D1 player at this time. Barrett’s connection may have got Garzolini an offer, but a few more games like last week and the scouts may be coming from the likes of Franklin, Depauw, Wabash and so on. Now before anyone  loses their mind. It’s still a great accomplishment to play at those colleges. Education should be the  key goal while playing In college for 99.7% of players. Donnie Baker I made that stat up so take it easy on me.

  8. I will have to check, but I thought the sectional they are in moved to the north? I thought there test would be against Indianapolis Lutheran in the north.  I know nothing about West Washington, but what I’ve seen in the schedule I can’t find a decent win on their schedule either. If that’s a strong team in the south I’m sure a lot of teams are hoping for that match up.

  9. Hard to really say how good South Put is. The teams they have played have a combined record of 6-18 with 3 of those wins coming by Edgewood. Those were not against impressive teams either. The other 3 wins the teams picked up were against opponents with a records of roughly 1-19 I’m not saying PH schedule has been any tougher but right now looking at some undefeated teams it’s hard to say how good anyone really is. Everyone can be surprised at this point once they get some “competition”

This week might show a little as South Put has West Vigo and PH has SV. Looks like South Puts only other game that would be interesting would be against
Heritage Christian. Not sure PH will have any other decent games after this week unless they can figure a way to play Seeger.

  10. NV. May be a down year for the Falcons but still to tough for the Ramblers.

Covington wins big over a sad South Newton team.

Seeger wins big, boys out at half.

Cloverdale over the panthers. Long season for RP

Now the game of the week.

PH over the cats by 2-3 touchdowns. PH seems to have more weapons to choose from. Has PH pulled out all their plays or do they have some held back for this game? Will they run the ball to make SV have to cover the receivers one on one? If that’s the case could be a big game for the Johnson boys and rest of the gang. Does SV cover the receivers and leave the middle open? Will be interesting to see.

But SV has something to prove. Did they just have a bad game, or was Sullivan’s defense that much better that shut down the powerful offense of SV? Did the players and coaches under estimate Sullivan? Or did they just not focus on this game and were already looking forward to the PH game? I can’t imagine Barrett letting that happen. Was anyone at this game to give any insight to it? Looking at the stats listed. I’m surprised that SV didn’t use their talent more to pass. Was the QB hurt? Hopefully not. Doesn’t seem like this was the type of game to only throw The ball 16 times. This is where big time players take over.

Hopefully we have some good  conversation this week on the forum. Makes Friday’s get here a lot faster.

Crabtree’s dislike for RP?  Can you dislike a team that appears to have never beaten you?   He was unavailable to coach against them last year.  Max Preps scores show the staff had no issue handling business without him.

I assume you can dislike a team or individual even though they have never beat you. Im sure the NV team could of beat RP last year if none of the coaches showed.

I agree I think Crabtree is a good dude.

    Parke Heritage

    Attica

    North Vermillion

    Seeger

    South Vermillion

PH   Of course this is just a game to pad stats. Johnson will have another big game. Take his stats for the first half and see how good he could be. Will start doing that for players based on the article in the Terre haute paper.

Attica. Just think they still have to much for
    Fountain Central this year.

NV this could be a decent game. RP will have a little advantage being at home, but I believe NV has a better coaching staff and Crabtrees dislike for RP will prevail.

Seeger to big and strong for Cov to compete tonight.

SV. Advantage cats playing at home. Based on previous post I assume the crew has been updated. This should be a game SV is looking forward. They are “ready for some competition“ personally I hope they are done by half again, nobody gets hurt and covid stays away.

Lets get through this evening and look forward to next weeks big game between the Wildcats and the Wolves. No excuses, good football and A battle between a group of D1 athletes playing against a group of D3 players.

Wolfs 88 Eastern 6 - The Wolfs continue their state record seeking quest for running clock games in a season.  Why do they play this game/team?

Attica 22 Fountain Central 18 - It appears Attica is only playing the games they feel they have a chance to win.  Well, this week and FC provides them with another possible W and they will take advantage of it.

NV 35 RP 12 - NV may be down, but they aren’t that down.  Time for RP to start thinking about baseball season.

Herbies 34 Covington 24 - Herbies will show they are clearly the 3rd best team in the WRC, but they are still a loooong way from the D1’s and the Wolfs.

Sullivan 52 D1’s 50 - As much as it pains me, like I have already stated, the D1’s will not come out on top this week simply due to mentality.  They have little man’s syndrome when it comes to playing schools such as Sullivan.  It is why they are content in the WRC where they can be the bully.

No idea why or how PH picked up eastern.

Attica over FC. By at least two touchdowns

RP pulls the upset over the winless falcons. Unless NV pulls off a late FG

Seeger is to much for Covington. Not a close game.

Hopefully SV wins setting up the best game in the area next week. Sv hasn’t had the chance to bully anyone in the WRC in many years. Maybe this is their year. Will find out next week.
