MD needs to stack the box to slow down Bowen and trust the corners defensively. Offensively if they they can get the run game working just a little to open up the pass game I think Wunderlich can have himself a day and the cats can win. MD- 20 Andrean- 14

I love the optimism BigCat and I agree the Wildcats have to get some kind of run game working to open up some passing lanes and be able to move the ball effectively. We can't have turnovers, negative plays or penalties that end, slow or stall drives. I also think we have to score more than 21 to win. We've got a great challenge in front of us.

Can someone point out to me which team gave Mater Dei there closest game in the Southern half of 2A 🤔 I’m having some trouble

My comment was not meant as a slight to Triton Central. I was simply pointing out that they had strong competition in their sectional and winning it wasn’t a given whereas Linton didn’t really have any competition leading up to semi state. Triton obviously improved greatly from last year and Linton’s record was deceiving

Slugging out a 4A/5A schedule makes a huge difference come November.

Yes it does. We were basically 3rd and goal from just outside the 5 (we could have gotten a first down inside the 1) and if we punch it in it’s a running clock against the #1 ranked team in 2a. You can’t tell me getting beat on every week by the likes of Memorial, Castle, North, Jasper, Vincennes Lincoln and Reitz doesn’t make a huge difference in games like this.

Md jump out to a big lead, but Linton hangs four touchdowns and outscores MD the rest of the game.  be interesting to see if they can slow down andrean

At what point did they outscore MD the rest of the way? I think it’s safe to say this one was over early in the second half

SAG looks about right now as far as rating teams.... interesting that the recent rating strength vrs the predictive rating has fallen for most all but Luers... could it be indicative of who the State Champ will b?? Rough math looks like this.....

    Andrean dropped 6pts...  Luers + 3pts ... Liptons - 8.5pts ..Madder Days - 13pts ....Triton flat ... Lcc dropped 3pts

I would assume that MD and Andrean both dropped based on the quality of opponents in their sectionals. I'm sure that is the issue with MD. We hit the running clock and call off the dogs.

    Last year vs MD:

    Stucky:  9/23, 65 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT

    Schultz:  2 carries, 2 yds, 5 rec, 20 yds

New year, new teams, but MD shut them down last year.  I see that both kids have impressive stats this year.  I'm sure it will be another tough task to keep them in check.

I would guess that almost all of Stucky's yardage came after MD had pulled their starters in the 3rd or 4th quarter. The touchdown came very very late in the game. But, as stated, new year, new teams. I don't expect a running clock in this one. I just hope to be playing at the Bowl in semi state.

I remembered it being in the evening but honestly thought it was on Saturday.  Thanks for the clarification. Interesting that the last 3 games btwn these teams have been @ TC - yes/no?.  We used to have the same situation vs Heritage Hills when it seemed we were always playing at their field.

The 3+ hour bus ride makes this a long trip regardless of when they play.  Imagine they leave around lunch time on Friday and have a similar routine as they have done for State in the past.  Hopefully the game will be streamed as no way many MD fans can make the 3 hour drive on a Friday night.  Best of luck to the 'Cats

2019 at TC, 2020 at Reitz Bowl, 2021 at TC, 2022 at TC. I'm sure the coaching staff will follow the same routine as last year. It seemed to work well.

IMO Central can thank the culture Andy Owen developed at Central. Win at all cost, disrespect your opponents, hire unqualified friends, and turn a blind eye to all on and off field problems. Just win baby!!!

They lost back to back HC that could flat out coach but couldn’t straighten out the dumpster fire created by AO.

Now the program will suffer for the foreseeable future.

Totally agree. Most classless program around during his time.
