Same with the Seegers and RP only has 3 that truly play. All three should be better next year and at the top of the conference

I’ll be more curious to see if the table runs stop after this year. Unless they start over with another round of THN kids, they lose a lot of talent and Seeger, FC and RP have very talented sophomores that will play significant minutes next year.

SV’s schedule ranked 251st in the state as their pre-conference schedule was West Vigo (3A school ranked 230th of 314 schools in state overall) and Sullivan (lost to WV). I think Dennis Green said it best…

I hope Coach Wheeler can get more kids to play. They didn’t field a JH team this year due to lack of numbers and ended up playing 8 man vs a couple local teams. RP won banks two years ago and again this year. Those kids are currently sophomores from the 2022 8th grade. If they get through HS and don’t beat SV or NV, then your comment maybe has some merit. RP has two contributing seniors they’ll lose and everyone else returns next year, plus a JV team that hasn’t lost in two years. Their build has been slow and methodical and fortunate they haven’t had a coach that will leave or has when the talent leaves. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Any county that adds NV’s success to it would present itself as “better” than most. SV’s sectional titles plus NV seven titles is still 7. (See what I did there..??). Jealousy is an emotion. Facts are not on the side of SV. Shhhhhh….. good luck tonight to everyone!

Moore had a personal foul in the 1st quarter for spiking the ball on a touchdown followed by two unsportsmanlike conducts penalties in the game that resulted in an automatic ejection and disqualification from the next game.

Seeger @ Lewis Cass - This sectional is loaded. Maybe the best 2A sectional in the state with legit contenders up and down the bracket. I don’t see Seeger winning this game. North Posey @ SV - I wish it would rain Friday so we all can get an opportunity to watch this game Saturday. (5% chance, so we may see a delayed game). NP’s two losses came at the hands of ranked Heritage Hills and Southridge. SV hasn’t won an opening round sectional game since 2019. The history-making season against 1A teams ends this weekend. Regardless who wins, they get Linton in round 2 for another banger of a game. Trojans @ Attica - even without Moore (ejected from the RP game Friday), Covington wins big and get South Put in week 2. PH @ RP - This game was 49-7 at half two weeks ago I don’t believe it will be this bad Friday RP wins and PH starts basketball with a legit chance to win a state title in hoops FC at SP - Chuck Sorrels boys take this one running away. Herb is 14-17 in three years at FC and looks to change their fortune in 2025. NV @ NC - Two coaches entering sectionals in year 1 of their teams. Coach Rod and his team win handily vs Coach Wheeler, ending their season. I believe Coach Wheeler will have his crew playing well next year with better healthy and fewer injuries. A week two rematch between NV and RP is on the horizon, with their first game ending in overtime.

Report from RP junior high game tonight. RP 38 SV 0. SV declined playing a B game allegedly citing weather conditions as it was too sunny and no clouds.

A whole 5.8 miles south. That’s 30,624 feet south of Rockville. Friday’s forecast for the local games in Parke/Vermillion/Putnam counties at 7pm is 75 degrees, partly cloudy, 5% chance of rain and 5% chance of a request to delay a game.

Agreed, coach. SV earned the conference title, assuming they win out, which shouldn’t be an issue. And yes, most did know this would happen as soon as the 10 day forecast was released prior to the game and it showed a strong possibility of rain. (It was the third game in a row SV moved their home Friday night game to Saturday vs RP). And kuddos to SV, if they can take advantage of weather to benefit their style, do it. Sadly, if Attica was on the schedule for that night, I not convinced that SV dictates the game to be moved. I also don’t believe North Posey, nor Linton, would be as kind and hospitable come sectional time.

Only one coach was reaching out to the others on Friday trying to get them to delay or cancel to Saturday. That’s a fact and I’ll say it to your face. Hint - no one took the bait and it still got delayed to exactly the time of no rain on Saturday. SV will win the conference undefeated. They earned it. But they have no running game and cannot handle physical teams, as shown Saturday vs RP. RP provided the blueprint for North Posey and Linton on how to beat them. Reality will sit in in a few short weeks. SV @ FC - SV Herb was at the SV/RP game on Saturday. He knows they must attack and pressure SV on D. I’m just not sure he’s got the kids to do it for 4 quarters RP @ Attica - Attica is better this year You can see it on film RP will simply be more physical and take care of business. RP finishes with PH and Covington prior to sectionals Seeger @ Covington - Game of the week for WRC standings. Covington by 10+ due to better athletes. I like the way Seeger plays, having even broke out the old school Power I several times this year. The Moore kid is great in space and gives Cov. the edge. PH @ NV. - Coach Rod has his boys playing great ball. This will have a running clock in the 2nd half. There’s no year-end awards. Just a team champ and individual determined by the coaches at their year-end meeting.

I’m currently at the PH game and the winds are literally carrying players across the field. It looks like Harry Potter is carrying the ball. The goal posts have bent into a Y shape and visors are flying everywhere Rumor has it that an updated school board agenda at SV has an upcoming hearing for an indoor stadium to avoid precipitation and winds above 8 mph during football games. All public are invited to attend.
