I was big on bell when he should have won it and he has proven him himself to be a much better player vs Kiser. Bell currently raking in nfl money vs Kiser playing for a mediocre d1 team. That was biggest travesty in recent history. Hopefully history doesn’t repeat and Bowen win granted he is committed to a mediocre team but there aren’t many top recruits in the state.

So what does the University have to do with whom won? Bell went to Purdue and Kiser at Notre Dame. Seems both University are good at Academics, You referenced NFL money which means ones in NFL and one is still playing College Ball. You seem to be the one interested in drama

I've been watching LaVille football for awhile now and I'll be honest with ya, the backup actually throws a better ball, but he's not nearly as mobile as Plummer is. So that takes some plays off the table, cause Plummer is amazing at extending the play and then if needed finding a seam and taking off. That will be missed. But if it came down to purely passing, Czarnecki is really good at hanging in the pocket and zipping it down field.

I can agree this 💯. I saw Czarnecki last game I think put one 40 in the air on a dime to Owen Smith

Andrean has not played Norwell. The 59ers get their QB back this week that they lost early in the season.

Lowell my mistake not Norwell but point was still the same and okay, the QB they had playing was doing just fine so don’t really see much a difference

Henry has thrown for 1500 yards and completion percentage near 73 so I don’t see how much difference If ask me still have Laville by 3-5

West Noble at Knox- Knox football team pulls it out in a close one.

Andrean at LaVille- I think Andrean is beatable, I just think that their tougher schedule and overall talent puts them over the top of the Lancers. The biggest asset for LaVille going into this game is they are a very physical team, but in the end the overall team talent of Andrean will prevail.

South Central (UM) at Culver- this is a yawner as the cavs prepare for Judson

Triton at North Judson- Jays will be too much for Triton. I dont see Triton's defense being good enough to stop the triple.

I watched Andrean play Norwell and to be honest they didn’t play physical besides the beast Bowen. Norwell ran power trap play after play and ran it all over Andrean. Not saying will happen again but they definitely aren’t the team from last year at all. Norwell just beat CMA 27-14 which Judson blew out CMA, but that’s why we play the games. I think Laville is more physical teams and pulls out 3-5 point victory

HNAC teams took care of business last night in dominating fashion!  It sounds like there were some pretty impressive individual performances as well.  Triton surprisingly dominated Pioneer.  If not for 2 first quarter turnovers by the Trojans it would have been worse.

All the HNAC survivors should be favored next week.  It would be nice to see 4 teams advance to championship games.  LaVille's game with Andrean tops the docket.  That should be a really good game!  The Lancers can prove they belong if they can send the 59ers packing.  A lot of hype around that one.

We'll see if Triton can push Judson.  I'm hoping it's a good game, but geez... the Jays dropped 74 last night!

The Cavs should roll.  Knox will have a battle with West Noble, but hopefully they can win at home.

Hopefully everyone came out of the first round healthy and ready to go!

Right now John Harrell has Laville winning by 10 and 25% percent chance to win state. Highest in 2A. If they had Plummer I would be way more confident, but the backup has done what asked and can make throws if settles in.

Quite possibly the most wide open class in my opinion.  No clear favorite here and would not be surprised if any of a half dozen teams were in Indy.

    The Favorites:  (Sorted alphabetically.)

Andrean - The 59ers have the most talented player in the class, and possibly the state.  Obviously battle tested as they have played Merrillville, Crown Point and Hobart, not to mention an out of state win against Crete-Monee (IL).  Health questions at the QB position are their only question mark.  Can Bowen put his team on his back a la Jaylon Smith from Luers?

Eastside - This team has become fun to keep an eye on since their shocking regional upset of a great Luers squad in 2021.  They'll likely get Luers again but I don't expect much resistance.  Will be heavily favored should they reach the regional round also.

Evansville Mater Dei - Another battle tested squad as there are few weeks off in the SIAC.  Playing larger schools all season does not do much for the win/loss record but it does do wonders from a confidence and experience standpoint.  No coincidence Mater Dei is always in the conversation in late November.

Linton-Stockton - Last week's win over South Putnam was eye opening as the Miners' schedule is always a topic of conversation.  They put it on a good Eagles squad that has some nice wins on its resume which gives me confidence they will be ready in November.

Scecina - Only loss on the schedule is to 1A state title favorite Lutheran.  Head coach has seen more football than all forum users combined, lol.  He will have them ready.  Potential rematch of a 1 point game against Triton Central potentially in the sectional title game could be a classic.

Triton Central - These guys are also worth keeping an eye on.  They too lost to Lutheran and narrowly lost to the Scecina team mentioned above.  They will likely get a shot to avenge the aforementioned loss and possibly on their homefield if the bracket falls how I'd expect.

    The Contenders:

Laville - Not much on the resume here in terms of impressive wins but going undefeated is not easy, no matter who you are.  Always gonna get everyone's best shot.

    Temp's Picks:

    Sectional Champs:

    Andrean

    Lafayette Central Catholic

    Eastside

    Eastbrook

    Linton-Sockton

    Heritage Christian

    Triton Central

    Evansville Mater Dei

    Regional Champs:

    Andrean

    Eastside

    Linton-Stockton

    Triton Central

    Semi-State Champs:

    Eastside

    Linton-Stockton

    State Champions:  Linton-Stockton

Not sure why nobody is giving Laville a chance to be honest. I definitely think more a favorite than contender. As far as impressive wins they did beat North Judson who is picked to go to Semi State vs Adams Central. Plus John Harrall has them as favorite to go to State Title game. But why we play the games! Good luck to everyone

If the roster on Max Preps is close to correct, 13 of their total of 28 players are juniors.  And they have good quality in that group for sure.  6 or 7 kids each from the sophomore and freshmen classes.  The Qb, TE and a two way lineman are sophomores that start, may be others or at least others who get quality time on at least one side of the ball.  Plenty of OL and DL listed in the sophomore class, but would venture to guess not with the overall potential of the junior class.  They could improve technique and strength for sure over the next two years, as could any freshmen.

I think a good question is what is happening in the middle school program at Laville.  Are there players that will be in the high school program that can contribute once this current junior group graduates?  There is bound to be some drop off when this current junior group is gone.  That is just the nature of the numbers at a smaller school.  Will the drop off be slight and short lived or are they looking at a longer period of rebuilding?  It is hard to put together sustained back to back strong classes that bring long lasting success at 1A and 2A schools.  There are certainly exceptions to this rule, but to this point I don't think Laville has been in that situation much in the past.

I give them all the credit in the world for what they have grown recently in the past two or three seasons.  Maybe if they can pull out a championship tonight or next year it will help further that momentum.  I think Triton is in the same phase with their program, maybe a year or two behind Laville.

My Dad has been the Head Junior High Coach of Laville for past 20 years or so. He has kinda told me who is coming up and who is gonna be tough. Sometimes those kids play soccer or just lose interest though. The Junior and Sophomore classes he told me were the two best classes he prb coached in 20 years. This past couple years were down but 3-4 good Athletes per group he said.

Yup and when these sophomores at Triton are Seniors. They'll have a legit chance to win conference.

Knox, LaVille, Pioneer and North Judson are senior and junior heavy it appears. Winamac was senior heavy and has a few talented sophomores and freshman but I don't think they'll be good enough to beat that Triton squad. North Judson has a great freshman squad and Pioneer's sophomores are decent but I think Triton's sophomore class may be better than both.

Laville has 1 senior that doesn’t even play. Laville is a loaded Junior and Sophomore class
