  1. I played football in the JC program for 8 years and saw so many kids drop off from youth to high school due to many reasons, but I think the biggest reason is some kids just get absolutely burned out to the point of where football just wasn’t fun anymore. I remember my middle school years summer was full of practicing twice a day all day no time for anything in the hot summer heat. Then high school they continued to do 2 a days for 1 or 2 years I believe it was 2012 or 2013 when Coach Buening was still there, but in 2014 and 2015 JC stopped doing that. I’m not sure how other schools are and things may have changed since then, but stuff like that is how athletes get burned out and why alot walk away. Sometimes it just does get to be to much and the injuries that’s part of it, some guys just couldn’t stay healthy. Personally I broke my hand, foot, and clavicle all from football, but it’s a violent sport that is just part of it and I understand why kids walk away for that reason too.
  2. JC has played the first half like they thought just stepping on the field would win them the game
  3. I remember playing against coach Glesing teams a few times and yes there were times we could hear him yelling from the opposite side line lol, but of course coaches are gonna yell I’ve received plenty of ass chewing from coaches over the years and I turned out just fine.
  4. Shelbyville used to be an awesome program, not sure what happened it seems they kind have just fallen off, but maybe FKs favorite coach can turn things around for the golden bears.
  5. I like the match up I believe it will be a good game unfortunately East Central is in their sectional
  6. JC 21 FC 14 in the fourth wish I could be there but listening on radio tonight tested positive for Covid
  7. I’m talking about the unbelievable explosive speed like Klingsmith, Carl, etc some of those guys who played many years ago
  8. Coach Glesing is now head coach at Shelbyville I believe and I’ve watched FC play JC a couple times when they have come to town since my playing days and I have to say I remember when FC used to produce some unbelievable speed like that Klingsmith kid it appears they have kind of dropped off in the speediness.
  9. Is it possible the problem with Floyd, New Albany, and Jeff is a lot of talent goes over the river? I mean New Albany had Rondale Moore at one point…
  10. Didn’t think JC played bad at all. I just think with all the two way players they eventually just get worn down. Also I don’t think they play consistently, it’s like they are a new team every week one week they show up and another they don’t. On to Floyd Central and FK if you plan on taking the painfully long haul to North Vernon, goodluck lol
  11. Azul Tequila is by far the best Mexican restaurant in Seymour not El Nopal lol
  12. I was doing a little asking around on the new coach they brought in Coach Newton. From my understanding he was going to be the head coach a couple years again, but JC went with Coach Sharp, but once things didn’t work out there due to some unfortunate circumstances. They got an interim head coach, then hired another guy from Washington who wanted to move back to Indiana, that Coach backed out, visited JC decided that he wanted the job after all, then backed out again. Then they went to Coach Newton who still wanted the job and hired him in the first week of June. Im glad JC did find a coach and someone who actually wanted the job even after a couple of years, he’s from Cass County a similar farming county just like Jennings County so I’m hoping he stays and is successful. It does stink though that he really didn’t have a lot of time in the off season to work with the kids, but I’m rooting for him and I know JC did everything they could to make the transition easier on him especially since this happened in June..
  13. I really don’t understand Jeff at all. When I played they always threw the ball up in the air, constantly fumbling the ball, and just displayed some of the worst sportsmanship I’ve ever seen. They started a bench clearing brawl with JC one year I was there.
  14. I agree, if I’ve learned anything about playing against East is if your not physical with them you’re in for a long night. If you are a defense lineman and you stand straight up you’re going to end up on skates. If you’re an offense lineman and you want to play patty cake with East’s defense you’re going to get embarrassed. Same goes for defenses arm tackling and blown assignments it can’t happen.
  15. I was told East was in the backfield pretty much as soon as the ball was snapped.
  16. You got the discipline part right, but when they can get it together they can be a dangerous team.
  17. Wasn’t at the JC vs East game, but someone that I know was he told me they struggled to get anything going.
  18. I noticed that yesterday too. Their qb is also a kick returner, long snapper, and it appears he is playing db also.
  19. JC playing a lot of younger guys. This game was in reach the certainly didn’t get dominated. The defense created turn overs and didn’t really give up the big play till the end. Just comes down to execution and cleaning some things up.
