Obviously offensive scheme has an effect on overall stats. A QB for a more running focused offense won't have the same passing stats as a QB who plays in a more heavily relied on passing game. By no means am I saying he isn't a great QB, because he is, no doubt.
Just for the sake of debate, plus it is a long offseason. Here are the stats (pulled from MaxPreps) for each of the 3 QBs selected to the SIAC All-Conference teams.
(Wunderlich first team QB, Fisher second team QB, Hunt first team at large)
Wunderlich (Mater Dei - 15 games played) - 2,911 passing yards, 29 TDs, 9 INTs 291 rushing yards, 6 Tds 3,202 total yards, 35 total TDs
Per Game Stats: 194 passing yards per game, 19 rushing yards per game, 231 total yards per game
Fisher (Ev. Memorial - 11 games played) - 1,830 passing yards, 15 TDs, 10 INTs -36 rushing yards, 1 TD 1,794 total yards, 16 total TDs
Per Game Stats: 166 passing yards per game, -3 rushing yards per game, 163 total yards per game
Hunt (VL - 10 games played) - 1,464 passing yards, 10 TDs, 7 INTs 908 rushing yards, 13 TDs 2,372 total yards, 23 total TDs
Per Game Stats: 146 passing yards per game, 91 rushing yards per game, 237 total yards per game
This isn't even accounting for the QB from Reitz who got hurt and missed several games, or the fact Castle played two different QBs. Who knows how their stats would have been affected had they played an entire season, instead of splitting reps.

Mason should be the winner here
Not to start something here but was he even the best QB in his own conference? Let alone the best player overall in the entire state. I understand his passing stats are what they are, MD runs a system that played to his strengths.

I know a little about each team.
With all of that knowledge, Linton by 2 scores.

Wow - I'll eat my words on this one. I was dead wrong.
Congrats to OV
You won’t be the last in this thread.

Can’t wait for all the comments this week.
“Well, we beat Boonville by x number of points and they beat Reitz by 1, so therefore we would have won the SIAC easily”

Lots of ref blaming tonight from some. Crazy game between Jasper and Memorial. Coach Hurley nearly cost his team tonight

Memorial has had 2 huge running plays up the for TD this half
Worst place for the Cats to be is down multiple scores.

For the North-FC game, I saw FC has only scored above 20 twice all season, so I can see them having some troubles against North’s defense, especially if the passing attack doesn’t pan out
I think North runs away with it as long as they can finish their drives and not let penalties or turnovers derail them.
-
MD by as many as they want.
Castle by at least 3 scores.
North but closer than many may think.
Reitz by 2-3 scores.
Tigers by a TD

Based off of stats I pulled from MaxPreps, here is a comparison of season stats
Wunderlich: 1683 passing yds, 18 TD, 5 INT/146 rush yds, 1 TD (19 total TDs)
Hunt: 1464 passing yds, 10 TD, & INT/908 rush yds, 13 TD (23 total TDs)
Arguments can be made for either. Glad it isn't my call as there will be some unhappy people regardless.

Your statement doesn't make Tango's incorrect. Simply put - have you ever heard of the IHSAA turning down money?
An interested party could stream the game if they had the capability/desire to do so.
Both statements can be true without either being wrong

My "off the top of my head" prediction (probably way off):
1st Team Offense
QB
Sr. Mason Wunderlich (Mater Dei)
OL
Sr. Edward Hartig (Mem.), Sr. Jack Cassidy (Mem.), Jr. Harlen Summers (Reitz), Jr. Timmy Dixon (North), Sr. Will Bracher (Castle)
RB
Sr. Jonas Burnett (Reitz), Jr. Angelo St. Louis (North)
WR/TE
Jr. Hayden Summers (Reitz), Sr. Xavier Thomas (Reitz), Sr. Weston Aigner (Castle)
K
Can't decide between So. Luke Lindsey (VL) or Jr. Keifer Sanderson (Reitz) or Jr. Aleyna Quinn (Castle)
At-Large
Can't decide between Jr. Roland Vera Jr. (Reitz) or Jr. Xander Hunt (VL) or Jr. Porter Rode (Mem.)
1st Team Defense
DL
Jr. Levi Oxley (Reitz), Jr. Calab Utley (Reitz), Sr. Cale Johnson (North), Sr. Kelton Farmer (Mem.)
LB
Sr. John Purdy (Castle), Sr. Carac Johnson (Mem.), Jr. Ayden Wells (Reitz)
DB
Sr. Elijah Ringo (Reitz), Sr. Dejuan Gillis (VL), Sr. Ayden Salpietra (Castle), Jr. Sam Nichols (Mem.)
P
Sr. Charlie Kabrick (Jasper)
At-Large
Can't decide between Sr. Brody Mueller (Central) or So. Will Hambrick (VL) or Sr. Louis Seward (Mem.)
Appreciate you giving it a stab. I think the biggest discussions will be between who gets first team QB and who gets second. In my eyes, its a two horse race between Hunt from Vincennes and Wunderlich from MD. Would love to see the stats to compare the two.

I wish it were being streamed, but the IHSAA isn't to blame. Any game can be streamed, somebody just has to step up and do it. Several teams in SW Indiana have local media stream their home games (Linton, Jasper). There seems to be more companies involved in central and northern Indiana though. Indiana SRN branched out to SW Indiana this year to stream all the Ev. Memorial games. The IHSAA doesn't produce any of the games until the state finals and then it is exclusively the IHSAA.
Any stream of the tournament has to be approved by the IHSAA and whoever streams it has to pay them a fee to do so. Regular season games are free game but once the postseason hits, the IHSAA controls streaming rights

Was thinking/talking about this the other day with some guys I work with and wanted to get the input of those on here.
All-Conference First Team? Lots of good choices out there this year.
Based off of research, looks like teams were announced at the end of November last year.
The format:
Offense: 1 QB, 5 OL, 2 RB, 3 WR/TE, 1 K, 1 At Large
Defense: 4 DL, 3 LB, 4 DB, 1 P, 1 At Large

Honestly, VL's reported yardage was nothing more than an intentional clerical fudging. It was actually tabulated well into the red, and GS loaned Vincennes 42 points out of their 105-0 victory so that folks wouldn't think they were running up the score, resulting in a nation-wide "cancelation" of the rest of GS's season by the non-competitive woke crowd.
I should know, I was there.
FINALLY! The truth always rises to the top or something like that

Hey everyone, I was told by @Titan32 in another thread to come into an SIAC thread to tell everyone how Memorial is better than their record suggests.
They are better than their record suggests but what do I know!

There is a slight difference in "drive", and rip off a big play. I think.
You're right, my mistake, this was discussed already in the other thread. 3 big plays by Vincennes accounted for all 600 yards. Two of which were mistakes by the officials and the third the lights from the stadium got in GS players eyes. Somehow they managed to score 3 more TDs (unless my math is off).
My apologies.

After watching the OV film against MV...the only defense that needs some serious adjusting or need to worry about tempo is the OV defense. MV moved the ball up down the field ....just couldn't execute in the red zone. MV moved the ball Zero...actually less than zero against the GS D. On the wishbone piece...thanks to our friends at HH. We know a thing or two about defending that.
No one has been able to drive the football consistently against the GS defense this season tempo or not (lots of depth on that GS D line), there is no doubt the OV offense is NOT the best running office the GS defense has seen. Not even close.
I would equate the OV offense to being close Boonville.
If GS stops big chunk plays, the game will be played on OV side of the field.
"No one has been able to drive the football consistently against the GS defense"
Except for the low level SIAC team that put up 42 points and almost 600 yards of offense.
Or wait, did they do that against the JV team like MV did earlier in the season? I wasn't there so someone will have to inform me on that one.

Also on the trick play for the long score...VL only had 6 guys on the line. Refs also admitted this miss....that's two of the three long scores.
I’ve been following along all the different threads tonight and continue to read your messages making excuses and trying to belittle what sounds like an incredible game by both teams. Just go drink the crystal clear waters in Gibson county and enjoy the opportunity to play another week.

I think it’s time for a sky cam in HS football!
Yes! Sky cam and instant replay reviews!
(I'm kidding of course about the second part)
too bad this wasn’t 5 years ago, we wouldn’t have people behind the end zone posting clips online causing all this drama!

Man, if you can make that call from 2 still pics, we need to sign you up and get you a whistle! Unfortunately, there’s no official at the pylon where we’d like to have one. Where was the ball snapped from and what type of play was it?
here is clip of the play you can slow down and try to see. Great effort all around. I LOVE OFFICIALS!

Would like to see a Memorial sideline video of this, but I’m looking at a TD right now. I believe the call on the field said he stepped out on the 2 when he lunged forward
Crazy play either way with a bang bang call. I just like stirring the pot!

Cats over Tigers - Cats conference champs? Maybe
Lincoln over Bosse - Bulldogs improved but low numbers and up-tempo offense will wear the Dogs out down the stretch
MD over Central - game might be closer than many may think
Castle over North - where does North get offense?
Reitz over Harrison - by whatever they want
Curious your thoughts on lack of discipline for Lincoln? Have you seen something that the rest of us haven't? When I watched last year a couple times I don't remember thinking "these guys aren't disciplined" Now, Reitz on the other hand....
