  1. The squirrel is BACK hickerbillies and yes I have been in hiding these damn tigers and deer have been raining hell on this little squirrel but now I think am safe and back from hiding!!! Last year was eh for the WRC only one school making it to the sectional title games with a massive chokejob that let SP go win the state title, but I have heard whispers from all across the conference and now the squirrel is ready to preview every team and make his picks. Attica- Coach Dean is starting to turn heads and man what year it was for the boys in RED. Attica I think will be better again under coach Dean and they will continue to get better. I think they will be a middle of the pack team that could pull off an upset during the season but a .500 or better season wouldn't shock this squirrel and that is NUTSSSSS!!!!!! Great Job Ramblers. #MakeAtticaRelevantAgain Covington- Man the day as come where we have to say the trojan football program is better than their basketball program. WHAT A SIGN OF THE TIMES! An experienced group that had success last year returns for Coach Wheeler and I got to say he is doing a fantastic job in the trojan complex. I do think however this team lacks a sperstar and won't have a guy that can just go win the game for them, but they are a team that can steal a game or make you earn a win. Give Wheeler another year and the TROJANS will be at the top soon!! #GivetheBBALLMoneyToFootball Fountain Central- Tough break for Earl & the STANGS with their QB going down. The silver lining is now Earl can implement stuff in the summer to get the STangs ready for the fall. Outside of Injuries I know the Stangs return one of the best lines in the conference and could be a strong contender to maybe win the conference but without the QB that task is much harder now. I still like this tea but not their year. #ThecurseofHerb Parke Heritage- This squad is top team in the WRC this year and I think they could be at the top of the rock in a couple years. This team is solid but is young in places. Rector is a phenomal coach and will get them ready. Maybe a parke county title but the WOOFS need to beat good teams this year to earn this squirrel's respect. #HOOFURWOOF Riverton Parke- Well how a decade can change the landscape of a conference. RP has never won a sectional in these players lives and they are talking STATE TITLE this year for the PANTHERS. I like NUTS BUT THIS IS NUTS!!!!!!! Don't get me wrong this panthers team is good but at least win a sectional before talking Lucas OIL. This team is a clear favorite and they have good pieces all around and will be my pick to win conference. Let's be honest if you put last years RP team back in any Year they would be middle of the pack or below average in past years of the WRC. That statement is not NUTSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! I like the staff at RP and maybe they can make a run but will they live up to the hype #Don'tRivertonItUP South Vermillion- Tough year on and off the field for Miller and his crew. However 95% of his team his back and is a year older with some stud athletes with Shyrock and the Smith kid back from injury. Will the line improve for the WIldcats and with the passing of Coach Blank (RIP Legend) who will take over the lineman duties in Clinton. I think coach Miller is the hungriest coach of the conference and wonder if the kids are following that. I like this team and we will see where they are come august. #WhatWillItBeMillerMildOrWild Seeger- 2nd place last year don't know much about the Pats but they are always solid it seems like. #VisorKillas North Vermillion- BAD BAD BAD BAD Falcons. All around crummy season is Cayuga and doesn't look much better for their new guy. Don't know his don't need to will be gone soon I'm willing to bet. Will be a bottomfeeder again this year. #CanWeGoBackToThe2010s PRE-SEASON Power Rankings 1. Riverton Parke -Defending Champs 2. Parke Heritage - Restore the WOOF 3. South Vermillion - A year older 4. Covington - No Superstar 5. Seeger - COuld be wrong here 6. Fountain Central - No Foxworthy 7. Attica - Could beat FC we will see 8. NV - Bottomfeeder You guys Are NUTSSSSSSSS if you think I'm NUTTTTTTSSS. I will be back!!!!
  2. Ok yes SP schedule isn't the strongest but riddle me this I think SP could easily go undefeated with RP's schedule. I personally think if RP replayed their whole season, they wouldn't go undefeated. Looking back I wish we could see a Cloverdale RP rematch
  3. But yet we can hate on SV and NV. Seems like there is a double standard in this chat room and that shouldn't be the case. All these kids are amazing, it what makes 1A small school football AWESOME. Some of these kids have to take of their families or work to help their family. Also go to school, practice and play on Friday Nights. Most kids that play at the 1A level will not play in college and only have these 4 years to play. I'm not saying I'm an angel, I will say I am not the biggest fan of RP, but I respect the rebuild Sanders and his staff has made to make RP contenders and not bottom feeders. I don't understand the hate SV has received this season. NV impressed me this year, I didn't know how Arod would do but the defense was outstanding, but their offense wasn't as explosive but when you graduate two all-state guys in Tryon and White, its expected. Ultimately, I think SP will win Friday and it's no shade at RP but look at the teams SP has played compared to RP. Number one they played Lutheran who is one of the top teams in the state. Their other loss came to North Put who is really good. RP did play Carrol, but Carrol got bounced last week losing 48-7. Those are the facts, and I am not taking anything away from the job Sanders and the Panthers have done this season. Price was as good as I've seen him this season, Goff really came alive when they needed him, and Lil sanders has done a good job at QB. I understand competitiveness but at the end of the day these are kids we are talking about, not professionals. I wish every day I could go back to Friday Nights and play with my guys and brothers I grew up playing with. That is what high school football is about. The WRC is special with all the teams so close, and the rivalries are fun and I understand NV and SV being hyped to play each other or PH and Attica excited to mix it up. Every program in the conference is run well and is unique and I don't think there is anyone here who can argue that. Again, I like NUTS, but I am not.
  4. WRC Season will end this week. Not hating on RP but SP is a different animal and I don't think the panthers know what will hit them. Congrats to RP though on a great win Friday and claiming redemption. I will have more to say after the season ends but SV and NV had great seasons and RP can maybe show the state something this week.
  5. I think you are taking away from what Coach Wheeler has done. Yes, next year they will down talent wise by positive direction is meaning more kids decide to play and the trojans are competitive. Two years ago, they were awful and ended the season with 18 kids. Now Covington according to maxpreps has 43 kids on the roster. Also, junior high ball is overrated I remember there was an undefeated NV that everybody raved about, and they went 1-9 in high school. RP won banks a couple years back and I don't think that class has beaten SV or NV in high school. I am not hating on kids success in junior high but ultimately how you perform in middle school won't dictate how you do in high school.
  6. 4 teams remain after Friday night. I think a lot of people underestimated the cats, I think NV plays down to their competition, and was putting 70 on PH really necessary? Usually on Monday, I do a power ranking, but this week let's just do a little recap and preview, let's get NUTTY. RECAPS Covington did what it had to do to earn another week. This week they play a team that could very well be playing on Thanksgiving this year. The trojans will have to play the perfect game and U don't know if they have that in them. Seeger played Cass close and had the lead a majority of the game. I think that should give them some positive momentum to take into next year. FC ran into a good team, but I would say with only 1 senior those mustangs could be out for blood next fall RP beat down the woofs. NV let NC hang around until the 4th quarter. The falcons have kind of disappointed the squirrel with not dominating teams they should. PH played with them, NC a team they beat down earlier in the year, put them through a dog fight, FC should've beat them, and Seeger had them on the ropes as well. I hope the Falcons aren't complacent. Everybody said SV was going to get dominated and North Posey was gone handle them easily. SV proved yall to be dumb and I will say it to your face. That game remined me so much of NV PH in the sectional championship in 19. I want to take a poll and ask you fine gentleman what game do you think was better. Other than that Friday was the biggest win in wildcat history and they have another challenge Friday Night PREVIEWS EAGLES at TROJANS- I think this game in a lot of people's minds is a cut and dry game. However, these teams are both extremely competitive and have some talkers. If the Trojans are going to win, they have to play their best football and they are at home, so you never know. SP is really really good but the trojans are talented to. I think this game could spring the trojans forward in a positive direction for their program. RP at NV- This was the best game in the regular season and this nutball of a Squirrell thinks this game can get extremely NUTTY like extra crunchy peanut butter. RP will be out for blood after blowing a 14-0 lead and losing in OT. Nv has the upper hand at home and is RP going to be able to play all 4 quarters? I'll have more for this game later in the week. SV at Linton- From one giant to another, frankly I don't know if I'll offend people when I say this is probably the sectional championship in this sectional. Linton has been a power in the Valley forever and SV is kind of new to success. Both teams are good, and these teams are completely different. The Roy should be rocking friday night and I think it will be exciting.
  7. I sense a lot of jealousy on the page this week. I think it has to with the fact one county is WAY better at football than the other
  8. What a week for the WRC to show what they are made of. Things can get Nutty come sectional time. No power rankings this week as I will wait til the end of the season to post that. Let's get into the picks. 1A NV @ NC- Not a clear black and white game here. I have not been impressed with NV the past couple weeks but NC isn't very good and I think NV wins handily. NV 48 NC 12 PH @ RP- If RP handles business week 2 of the sectional could get pretty darn NUTTY. I like RP to win by mercy RP42 PH6 COV @ Attica- Moore getting ejected just proves why Botner from NV is better. Botner would never get ejected and I know moore has put up stats but give me botner all day. Covington wins by mercy 2A Seeger @ Lewis Cass- Tough season for the pats. Cass is a good team but I don't know much about them. Give me Cass by Mercy North Posey @ SV- I think this is the game everyone is curious about in the WRC. Is SV for real? I think SV gets a little too much hate on this page and I get it, but they did handle everybody in the conference handily. NP is not the team they were last year, but they still have talent. Also, SV is at home, and it will also be a 2-hour drive for the Vikings. SV has certainly gotten better up front week after week thanks to Blank. Coleman and Weir are always going to be threats and Shryock is tank. Garzo 2.0 is the best true QB i think the conference has seen. However, NP is really really good and I think they win by 1 score. NP 45 SV 38
  9. I am Nutless this week. Interesting draw can't wait for sectionals let's do our final power ranking for this nutball of a season. 1. SV 2. NV 3. RP 4. FC 5. Covington 6. Seeger 7. PH 8. Attica Same as last week not alot to say. I'll have more to say during my predictions
  10. Where's the action you nutjobs, lets get the squirrel and his/she nutty predictions Attica @ Covington- Cian Moore might have 400 yards rushing. Trojans win by mercy FC @ NV- Game of the week. I really want to make nutty pick and take Herb and the STANGS but I think Botner has another big performance but I believe this game will be close. NV wins 34-26 PH @ RP- Not much to say Panthers are better. RP 45 PH 21 Seeger @ Wildcats- SV wins handily 48-6
  11. Why so quiet, the squirrel thinks the conference can get pretty nutty this week in the race for 2nd place. Everything we though would happen last week happened. The squirrel has a more in-depth power ranking for this week. 1. SV- The wildcats have taken care of business all season. Garzo 2.0 is the best QB, the best 3 receivers and TE in conference. Add in an improved O line and a workhorse back in Shryock and that's a recipe for an explosive offense. The wildcats have also gotten it done defensively, they held the premier backs in the league in Botner and Moore to under their season average and no one in the conference has been able to score more than two touchdowns on them. Best team in the conference hands down. 2. NV- Arod and the Falcons have done a great job of winning this year. Botner is by far their best player but Dawson has done good stuff as well. The Falcons defense is better and have forced turnovers which is the key to winning. Can the Falcons make some noise in the sectional? I think they potential to. 3. RP- Sanders and the Tenderloins can say they have had a successful year. The panthers have been physical all season and have played good teams close like Carrol and SV. I think RP has good days ahead which is nice to see. I think the panthers have potential to make some noise in the playoffs as well. I'm kinda hoping for an NV and RP rematch. But the Panthers are not the bottom feeder anymore. 4. Fountain Central- I know you Nutty folks are expecting me to put the Trojans here but let's show some love to Herb and the Stangs. After a rough patch the crew from Veedersburg is much improved and are making a case to be a dark horse. Foxworthy is the 2nd best QB in the conference and herb has got himself some hard nosed kids. 5. Cian Moore aka Covington- Covington is better this year and I mentioned an RP NV rematch but man I also would like an NV Covington rematch. Cian moore is a tremendous player but that's the thing, who else do the trojans have. I'm not hating if you have a guy like Moore give him the ball but is there anyone else who can contribute to the trojans? I like the trojans but IDK if they can pull off an upset in 2 weeks. 6.Seeger- Down Year for the Patriots, but that is bound to happen in small school football. I know they have kids coming and the fact the patriots are not as good this year doesn't mean they won't be in contention next year. 7. Woofs- The woofs are much more competitive this year and I think that should be a good sign of things coming in Rockville. The woofs probably won't upset anybody this year but they can make a statement for next year. 8. Attica- They have showed up every week, knowing they are gonna get beat. These kids have a ton of heart and I hope they don't remember the results of their career but the fight and character they developed playing
  12. The squirrel thinks this page is absolutely nuts this week. This week will be all chalk but lets get into the predictions. SV @ FC- Great turnaround by the stangs and I think I underestimated Herb. SV is better though and I think FC hangs around for a quarter but the wildcats are rolling in this one. SV 48 FC 7 RP @ Attica- Turf gets broken in but RP wins by Mercy NV @ PH- This game intrigues me as the past couple years NV has been the favorite, but PH plays close for half and I believe the trend continues. NV wins 42-21 Seeger @ Covington- I'll have my eye on this game. I know Seeger is big but Covington has speed. Cause the trojans play at home and the pats are disappointing this year give me the trojans 41-13 Those are the picks for the week and I think the rest of the regular season will be good telling for how the sectional will go down. I can tell that people are upset with the wildcats but honestly the whole state postponed, I guarantee if NV was playing anybody else other than Attica they would've postponed. 70% of the state played on saturday so it's not like the panthers were the only team sitting at home friday. All of Vigo County and Wabash Valley postponed, so I think the game getting postponed i getting blown out of proportion. Take the loss and move on. Again I like nuts but I am not
  13. Why are we so hung up on the SV RP game being postponed? At the end of the day, we all knew this was going to happen. SV was the favorite to win coming into the season and so far they handled business like good teams do. Even if RP won Saturday there would be a 3-way tie for first. Without a doubt if RP played NV like they did SV they would've won. There's no point in complaining and again I like nuts but I am not
  14. Nut-Tastic thats what the squirrel thought about last week in the WRC. The race for 2nd Place is in full affect these next three weeks. Time for the power courtesy of your favorite NUT-JOB the Squirrel. 1. SV- Played sloppy at times Saturday but got the win and took care of business. I see both sides of the argument for postponing the game and honestly, I ain't taking sides at the end of the day it's a football game and the wildcats played better. 2. NV- Front runner for 2nd place and honestly the Falcons should handle business the next three weeks. Botner is a real frontrunner for best offensive player in the confernce that is not a QB 3. RP- Where was that the week prior RP. The panthers honestly had the advantage with the weather Saturday and couldn't take advantage. Too many penalties and talking a little too much has plagued the panthers. Hope for an NV loss but I don't see that happening 4. FC- Shut out the pats, I see you herb. If the stangs stay healthy this week I would watch out 5. Covington- Cian Moore had a good game we will learn about the trojans in two weeks 6. Seeger- BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 7. PH- Maybe next year 8. Attica- New turf in action
  15. The wildcats have had a few go to Indiana State, Shew Garzo 1.0 and the lineman last year. Christian Johnson will be D1 next year after he's been tearing it up in juco. I know Blank's kid had an offer to Indiana State, I don't know if he went there or not. Those are the only ones I believe are playing D1 or had D1 looks.
  16. Botner is a very gifted athlete, but Earl was one of a kind and I don't think the conference has seen talent like that at the running back position before and after Earl's playing days. Again Botner is really really good but Earl was the greatest RB the conference has ever seen and Earl put up all his stats against teams in their prime. Attica was a top 10 team, FC was a top 5 team, Rockville was in the top 10. The conference hasn't had that in awhile where multiple teams are in the top of the state and I hope it gets back to that.
  17. Time for the Squirrel to make his Nut-tasic picks for the week. Everybody is saying this week will be boring but believe the squirrel you never know when something nutty can Happen. Attica @ NV- This is a gimme for the Falcons. Mercy Rule win by the North Side Covington @ Woofs- I know I've been giving the trojans some love but they do have a pattern. It is in Parke County and Covington has showed they play down to their opponents, so in my nutfest game of the week the Squirrel is making a nuttttttttttyyyyyyyyy pick. Give me the woofs 34-29 Fc @ Seeger- Herb hasn't beat the pats since he was let go. I like the Stangs in this one as they get herb win 202. FC wins 26-16 RP @ Visors- Can RP pull off an Upset, or will the Visors take care of buisness. If this game is a shoot out the wildcats all day, however if RP can keep the ball and handle the clock, I wouldn't count it out. I think more than any week this week comes down to how good the SV line can play this week. If they play good SV will win by Mercy. I am going with my gut that is full of nuts here. SV wins 27-20.
  18. The Squirrel thought the WRC was NUTS and I'm talking macadamia not WalNut. OT, Woofs almost beating the PATS, and the longest game I ever kept eyes on in Clinton. The Squirrel has been deep in thought in deciding this week's power ranking and again I am not NUTS, but I like nuts. 1. SV- Was rough at times Friday for the Wildcats. Last true chance for anyone in the WRC to take them down, but I like the Wildcats to win and they can go on their victory parade for 3 weeks. 2. NV- Alot of guts out of the Falcons Friday and the squirrel now thinks the Botner/Moore debate is over. The kid is a stud and the Falcons played the spoiler in Mecca. 3. Trojans- Played well and did some good stuff and I think they will be a dark horse come october. 4. RP- Blew a 13-0 lead at home on Homecoming. Now that is NUTS. Kids lack discipline and their shot at conference is dead. Unless they pull off a Nutty upset friday. 5. FC- Win 201 was easy for Herb, but it is a winning streak. 6. Patriots- Man that was close. Maybe Next Year 7. Woofs- A potential dark horse? Great showing friday, even though the result was not they hoped this is improvement. 8. Ramblers- Stay the course
  19. Time for the Squirrel to make his picks for the week. 2nd Place showdown, Homecoming in Clinton, Potential Upsets. Covington @ SV- SV showed they are the best team and no one in the conference can touch them. SV 55 Covington 12 FC @ Attica- Win Streak starts for the Stangs FC 42 Attica 6 PH @ Seeger- Seeger is not good and PH has the momentum, honestly I like the woofs this week in an upset. PH 24 Seeger 21 NV @ RP- Game of the week in Mecca. Will NV bounce back or will RP have a chance to claim the crown next week. This game is gonna come down to the trenches and I think RP is better in that category. RP 34 NV 20
  20. Ok the squirrel was actually nut shocked Friday by the action that happened in the WRC. Before the Power Rankings are released let's recap. RP destroyed the Pats, SV demoralized NV, and the trojans got ripped by the mustangs. So hold on to your nuts the squirrel has been waiting patiently to post these power rankings. 1. The Visors- What did you expect? Now was I wrong in my prediction, perhaps but I did state that SV was the much better team and that was proven. Coleman was incredible and the SV Oline and Dline just crushed the Falcons, wonder why wink wink. Overall, the Wildcats showed they can't be touched by anyone in the conference. 2. RP- Impressed by the showing the panthers produced Friday. Big game for the panthers to prove themselves again this week. Special things in store for the oanthers this season, possibly. 3. NV- The Falcons didn't just lose Friday, they got crushed in all aspects. Physically, Mentally, and on the Scoreboard. The defense was soft and no rhythm offensively. The wildcats however exposed something that I think people expected from the Falcons but haven't seen yet and that is they are not good up front. The wildcats did whatever they wanted to do up front on both sides of the ball to the Falcons and this week the task gets no easier against the panthers. Wonder how the NV faithful feel about Blank after Friday. 4. HERB- The upset no one saw coming and congrats to the legend for win 200. I am flabbergasted by the mustangs and are they for real? Don't call it a comeback. 5. Trojans- Bad loss for the trojans and honestly is this team fake? I had hope for these guys and they have let me down. They're saving grace is the pats lot bad friday. 6. Seeger- Glory days are behind them. The patriots are in rebuild mode. 7. Woofs- Way to win 8. Attica- Honestly the squirrel has been harsh on the ramblers this year. However, I will say this, Credit to those kids. It is not easy to show up every Friday knowing chances are you are going to get your butts kicked. The grit of this team amazes me and I hope these kids realize they are not failing but fighting. Never quit Attica
  21. Ok the Squirrel has been binge eating nuts in thinking about how this week's games will go. Arguably the two best matchups we have seen so far this season and two toilet bowls, but this wee k will determine how the WRC crown will go this year. Covington at FC- Give me the Trojans by mercy rule PH at Attica- Woofs RP at Seeger- Great test for the Panthers. Sanders has yet to beat the Patriots, but the Patriots I believe are down this year. The game is in Parke County and I think Sanders and his crew are ready. Panthers win in dramatic fashion 36-32 SV at NV- The game of the week? Neigh the Year. A ton of story lines in this week's county showdown. County Championship, Blank's return, Rodriguez vs Barrett, Conference title up for grabs. One question for me is will Crabtree be in Attendance? Here is what the squirrel thinks, I whole heartedly believe SV is the much better team, but the NV secondary is legit and the weather calls for rain friday. Arod is a defensive mastermind and I think he will have the wildcats figured out. Game is at Gibson, the Falcons haven't beat SV yet this decade. SV is high up on the horse after beating Sullivan but I think the conference slips out of their control this week because of weather and the best secondary they play will be this one. UPSET CITY in Northern Vermillion County Friday give me NV 44-34. The Squirrel has spoken and I like nuts but I am not Nuts
  22. The Power Ranking is coming early this week from the squirrel. Great to see how the conference did against each other last week. Big game this week in Vermillion county but I wouldn't count on calling it the conference championship quite yet. Here is the Power Ranking for the week. 1. The Visors- Took Care of business Friday. This week the wildcats can show how dominant they truly are or they can show they aren't as good as they think they are. Will be interesting to see Blank on the opposite side of Gibson Field after all the time he spent at NV. Barrett and his kids will be ready but we will see. 2. The Falcons- Defense looked really good Friday. Did the Thomas kid break the school record for sacks in a game? NV had an arieal attack as well and defensively snagged 4 picks. This two week stretch will determine how the Falcons will feel about their season went when November rolls around. Let's see how they perform this week. 3. The Panthers- Great Showing last week for RP and as the season goes on, that week 1 nail biter looks better and better for coach sanders. RP can make a statement these next three as this will be the hardest stretch of their schedule. The Panthers could be sneaky and finish 2nd this year or hell Sanders could make a run for the crown. 4. Seeger- The Patriots have a chance to show they are still good this week. Not knowing much about the Patriots could actually be an advantage for them as previous seasons they fly under the radar and snag the crown at the end of the season. 5. Covington- 4 picks will never help you win but the trojans battled and if they plan NV in the sectional, I wouldn't hesitate to pick the trojans. The Trojans can rebound this week and get some positive momentum. 6. Herb- Injuries Suck but give the mustangs a year and they will be good 7. PH- Attica week go get your free win 8. Attica- Keep FIghting
  23. It truly is hard telling. Nothing against Rodriguez, so far, the Falcons have looked good but look at their opponents NC is Bad and Paris racked up over 200 yards in penalties. Crabtree and Blank's first year they really weren't tested, and people didn't realize they were good until they beat FC in 2012. I think these next two games will be good indicators of how the Arod era will look in Northern Vermillion County. Hard to compare coaches and truly every coach puts their all into these kids. NV also has some solid athletes with Dawson and Botner. My fear for the Falcons is how will they be up front as the competition heats up and teams scheme them. Ending Arod is two games in and it has been a great start but ultimately, it's can you do it week after week and for this year's falcon team I don't know>
