What other numbers could they use other than current enrollment?

Previous enrollment classifications as stated above?

This pandemic has the enrollment numbers all out of whack. Without trying to create too much controversy here, I believe that are a good number of schools that would "benefit" from using the current figures. It just doesn't seem right to me...

The way I heard it explained when Dave Sharpe left the Slicers formed a search committee, the job was offered to Bob James who did not want it, it was then posted, a pool of applicants were received, the search committee the consulted with Paul Condry from the Indiana Football Digest and he narrowed the list down to 5 and Jeremy Lowery was at the top of the list.

I was never offered the position. I was asked to be on the interview committee and I declined. My exact quote was "You guys did a pretty good job last time around. Find us another Dave Sharpe!"

Can coaches that took this year off but plan to coach next year sign up? When signing up, it has a box that asks for how many assistant coaches I want to add, when I am not a head coach. It does not give me to option to select “0”. Thanks for any help!

I'd say the best thing to do would be to select "1" and then just put N/A in for the head coaches information.  See if that works.

I haves used and still use  Digital Scout,  it is the most complete FREE stat program I can find.

    https://dashboard.digitalscout.com/Account/LogOn

and there is the app you can download onto an Ipad or any device.  you can keep the stats on the sideline or in the booth.  There is an automatic dump to MaxPreps from this page as well.

Just add your roster and schedule,  log onto the app, sync it up and you will be well on your way for the season.

Thanks!  I've got our guy looking into this one as well.

my good friend @CoachDurham was a great pal and brought me BACK a round of wings !!   They were delicious no doubt, definitely in my top 5, probably top 3 if I was at the place to eat them as well, but there have been some dandies in my belly over the years

Now that's a FRIEND!  I'd want @CoachDurham in my fox hole!!

I'm assuming you have to be available to play the game to be nominated?  They do not have alternates?

The All Star coaching staff does have a list of "alternates" in case someone cannot play or does back out at some point.  My oldest son made the team in that fashion in '07. When I coached in the game in '09, we had to pick up 3 or 4 players after the teams had been selected.

  7. Having coached at both levels myself, I can tell you that it is a HUGE jump.  Even from the middle school to freshmen level!  The middle schools have no governing body.  You can do whatever you want!  Practice as much (or little) as you want.  Play as many (or few) games as you want.  There are no eligibility requirements.  It can be the Wild Wild West if you let it.  Then you get to the high school and the IHSAA has more regulations than the Obama administration.  (I know nothing about politics. I had to google that.)

As with many of you, I wish these gentlemen the best of luck.  But it isn't going to be easy...
