  4. Want to give a shoutout to the game tomorrow night at Gordon Straley Field in West Lafayette.  It will be a special night not only because the Red Devils will be playing one of their most respected rivals in the Rensselaer Bombers, and not just because it will be homecoming, but more importantly they will be celebrating 100 years of playing football at West Lafayette High School. There will be many alumni players, coaches and others there to celebrate a storied history.

Through 2020, West Lafayette HS had the fourth most wins of any school in the State.  They have numerous other accomplishments that are listed in the IFCA record book as well.

I hope to take some pictures of some of the festivities associated with this special night and post them on this thread.

True, but West Lafayette always loses players from year to year, but the dropoff I saw last night was noticeable ... especially on offense.  Harrison probably had at least three or four times or more where they denied WL a fourth down conversion of three or less yards.  They also limited WL to zero points in the first half.  Harrison converted two turnovers into points and made WL lose their cool on a couple of occasions that led to points as well.  Even Harrison's 2nd string put up points.

WL only mustered 85 yards rushing and only 111 in the air.  Had at least two personal foul that looked like they came from frustration after big plays and a defensive encroachment penalty that gave Harrison new life in their own territory.  By far, the night belonged to Harrison on "ooooh" kinds of hits both on offensive plays and special teams.  That typically doesn't happen to WL until they get to the likes of Brebeuf.

Given what I saw in the LCC-Harrison scrimmage and what I saw from WL last night, albeit I'll certainly conceded that it might have been an anomaly, the LCC-WL game will be well-worth attending if you don't have folks don't have any home team plans.

Sort of expected when you lose 4 of 5 starters on the offensive line to graduation. The lack of composure was the most troubling aspect.  That will need to be corrected quickly.  Let us not forget that this was the first game of the season, against a school that is twice the size of WL.  I saw it ad pretty much of a draw in the first half, and then the size and numbers of Harrison kicked in during the second half.  RDP will be fine moving forward.

The IHSAA has charged for all the Semi State games for at least 3 years now.  I paid my $17 and had absolutely no problems switching back and forth between any game I wanted to watch.  I was watching on a laptop.

I didn’t have any problem switching back and forth, but man I got tired of seeing the ihsaatv splash screen and hear the same narrative every time I switched.
