Excited to compete against another school, but with the offseason being set up the way it is I believe the scrimmage set up needs a change.

I would be a proponent of having a mandated off week for all IHSAA Football teams (last 1/3 of season or all schools bye week is the same week) and start Week 1 of season in place of the scrimmage. Maybe schools would see that as an opportunity for scheduling their Fall Breaks.

    OR

Give the opportunity to schedule a 10th game and they can choose to schedule it in place of the scrimmage.

I dont really have any interest in a bye week. I could see why some would want it though.. I want a 10th game.

We will have had 46 "practices" 8 of those against other teams, 1 scrimmage against another team, and 1 intrasquad scrimmage before our first game. Entirely too many.

I have never attended a West Washington game but that is going to change this season.

You should.. it's a very good atmosphere there. They have great food as well.

That was the main reason my dad was so mad they had to be taken off our schedule lol.

Even better, I would like to see him at a Louisville, Vanderbilt or a program like that.

East will return 3 pitchers on next years team that have a combined record of 22-2

Well IU had 10 players drafted and Wright state (where IU's coach was at prior) had 4 guys taken in the top 10 rounds. If he wants player development, Jeff Mercer is the guy. You'd want him to live in Louisville for 4 years over Bloomington? ... eesh.

I guess time will tell. The schedule WW plays is pretty weak. After looking up last seasons results and what you all have said is returning, i guess WW is a contender.

Are there a lot of 1A schools with overly good schedules? Their coaching takes a back seat to no one.

I have a question, observed this thread since it's inception. Like the graph and the info, very interesting. The original post said it was for a discussion point. What was the point? Pro-turf vs. Pro Grass? Turf injuries vs. Grass injuries? What are we discussing? 6A can afford turf better than 1A? Just wondering. Not being negative, just as a fan wondering how we will use this info or is it something that is of value as a coach?

He is trying to convince his school board to get turf.

Other than that it was out of my own curiosity.

Ritter uses Marian University as it's home field, it is turf. I believe they have a long term deal and barring MU making the jump to D1, I don't see them playing on a Friday night any time soon.

Not their field though. I've actually watched a Ritter game at Marian before. Solid venue.

Ignore it if you can't handle the truth. I will always respond when someone cheap shots my school.

There's nothing cheap about it. Our grass was absolutely awful until we got turf this past year. Ask Ev Memorial lol It's really not that big of a deal. Pretty sure it's an advantage for you guys.

Again.. just not the thread for it.
